  1. Hi All, I'm Aaron, and I am pretty new to the area. I moved here for a new job in November after spending 29 years in Michigan. I've been a car nut since I was little, and generally don't gravitate toward one make or another. I can appreciate muscle cars, imports, or pretty much anything with wheels. I will admit I don't know anything about bikes, though. I have had an interesting mix of cars in the 14 years I've been driving, including 3 Hondas, a Chevy, a Saab and a Jeep. I currently own a 1996 Accord and a 2007 Liberty. Both are slow, with no plans to make them go fast. The Accord has some subtle visual mods, an intake and a very annoying exhaust. I recently received a shipment of suspension parts, so it will be going lower soon. The Jeep is all stock drivetrain-wise, with no plans to alter that. It has some visual stuff done to it to make it a little less... girly. I do take it off road from time to time, usually when I head back home. Anyway, enough typing, on to a couple pics: Jeep http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/trackstud_1/Jeep%20Stuff/a82f72be-ff96-42b0-8664-05647bf04d60_zps11d051f1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/trackstud_1/Jeep%20Stuff/BE6BD85D-ED8D-4986-A805-5EFDF5C509F7_zpssewmq1j0.jpg Honda http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/trackstud_1/d5e3eef1-c131-4459-9062-fbe183a7c0bc_zpseed6573c.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/trackstud_1/4f02f20a-1d86-41f8-9a76-fd26398b7d31_zpse02f8424.jpg

  2. Hi. I've been referred here by the Adam Green. I'm not exactly a Columbus local but I'm looking to get more involved in the car/bike scene and will be in town a lot throughout the season. Currently my main toy is an '08 Buell 1125r. Hoping to get her out on the track this summer. Looking towards a big bore or possibly a low compression rebuild this next winter. Anybody know any local dyno tuners with Buell or tunerpro experience? Lol because I'll need one. Anyways, I'm going to cut the bullshit. Nice to meet you all, here are some pictures http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q579/heagachongoose/37973053634a62024d3f70335e922de8_zps68fee450.jpg http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q579/heagachongoose/ee80fc71d2d3370e4c48ac7116dfdc68_zps71afd919.jpg http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q579/heagachongoose/00E5D934-2514-43D5-9D67-A68FCA3DF59A_zpsdpyamgpm.jpg

  5. Most the Bubbys already know but today i picked me up a new dirt ride. 06 Yamaha Wolverine 450 4x4. She needs a little TLC and a good cleaning but i got a good deal on it. My decription of the condition would be lightly used but maintained poorly. She needs all new fluids and brakes(new pads and calipers maybe rebuilt). I have already removed all the stupid stickers he had stuck all over it. I bought it from the original owner and it's got a fuzz over 1000 miles on it, also came with a plow. Once i get the maint up to date the wish list will include, skids plates, hand guards, powder coat the bumper and grab bar(maybe other parts). here are some pics of it as i got it ill update this thread as i get things done. The dude basicly rode it and parked it every time, never cleaned it, he says he changed the engine oil every year but said the gear oil, battery, coolant, and brake fluid is all original. Taken on my trailer on my way home: The pile of stickers that i removed: Next several pics are the ones the guy sent to me when i was looking:

  6. It seems as a SW Ohio native, there aren't as many epic twisty roads nearby as what you Eastern Ohioans have. To the East of Cincinnati is some great scenery and some nice roads, to the west, a small ball of good roads that are a bit too urban, nice cruising further west into Indiana and to the north, a flat wasteland. But then there's south... We decided to revisit KY 10 and 22. Last time it was earlier in the year on a day that turned out to be chillier than the forecast had us believing. My friend on his DR650 and me on my Vulcan 500. That was a 200 mile trip that took use out to Aberdeen and by the time we were in the meat of 22, I was hanging off of the little Vulcan for all it was worth. This time we skipped the cruising and went straight for the meat. Dave, still on the DR650, but me on on my "new" 1993 Nighthawk 750 I recently acquired. The '750 is actually much slower to transition / chicane than the 500, but the upside is it's much more planted and predictable and the powerband is much wider. The Vulcan 500 is about as sporty of a small cruiser as I can imagine, but that little 6 speed twin needs to be wound out to keep it in the power band and behind a DR650 which has immediate torque, it becomes an hour long exercise in constant shifting. The '750 however, was "stick it in 2nd or 3rd and go" I can't say we were burning up the road like the sport bikers, but I feel pretty good about my first technical run on the Nighthawk. There are large sections where there are *no* straght-aways. The image below doesn't do it justice. Follow the link and zoom in. http://goo.gl/maps/QdiXR Having to haul the top heavy, 500 lb. 'hawk over meant there were plenty of spots where just going the speed limit felt plenty aggressive. I'll admit it, I'm a pretty new rider (started last year) and I'm sure a better rider would have destroyed me on an identical bike. On the other hand, I refuse to take liberties with the yellow centerline. Somebody on a 2 up, maroon Goldwing or Concours blew past and dusted us - it was humbling. I also noticed my chicken strips on the right were bigger - leaning with mailboxes whipping a few feet past one's head is "interesting". Never the less, it was the most fun I've had on any road around here, bar none.

  7. FIL has an old ass EZGO, from like 78 or something that is totally redone and super nice, except when it get's hot or under a heavy load it bogs down. Seems like it's something to do with the carb but Eagle in Lancaster won't look at it as they said they doubted they could get parts for it. I don't really think I want to mess with it due to if I break it, I'll feel like shit, but he'd prefer to get it fixed or have someone tell him it can't be fixed, before buying a new one. Not sure why when gassers from Heath are like 1350.00 but I think because he's redone it twice now from the frame up, and it ran like a top beginning of last year then got all moody and shit at the end. I wanted to see if anyone has a local guy around CW or Lancaster that is really good with 2 stroke engines as this is a full go 2 stroke, not converted to oil tank mixing. If not, I'll be forced to get a case of beer and spend a weekend ripping into this thing and probably break it for good. FWIW he is pretty handy and has tried adjusting stuff, checking for blockage, and run cleaner through it. It's totally random and I am wondering if the float is just totally bad. Definitely take some info if anyone has any. Oh and if it is toast, I'll post it up so someone can add a GSXR or snowmobile engine to it. Or maybe I'll post my current cart up and just start a new project at the new house. FML don't let me do that.

  9. Yes. Because when the world is ending, the first thing I'm going to worry about is how to build a nice patio.

  11. This is why Easter is te worst holiday... I get 0 days off, but my Sunday is consumed by brunch with my parents, and dinner with my wife's side? Why? So we can collect eggs laid by a fictional bunny, who should really be a possum if you want to make an honest attempt at relating the holiday to Jesus...

  13. Actually, neither are militias. Just another word that has been bastardised by the politicians and press. Kinda like assault rifle has.

  20. The wife and I spent 9 days in Ireland a few years ago...and I was BLOWN away by the awesomeness of the roads(so curvy!), the beauty, and the friendliness of the people! I swear to God, if I won millions of dollars in the lottery, I'd move there. I will go back someday, and rent a motorcycle. I literally have hundreds of pictures and a few hours of video, and if you start to consider going there, you're more than welcome to come over and look at everything. One other thought...what about just touring around in the US? Four weeks is a lot of time to see a lot of places. Just a thought.

  21. guess who else were considered terrorists by masses? and look where we are now......idk about you guys (aside from Graeme), but I didn't eat tea and crumpits or whatever the fuck theyre eating in England right now for breakfast. God bless America and our patriots. The Fed needs to stop putting their nose where it does not belong. They are trying to control every single aspect of our lives, and people are finally getting sick of it.
