  2. So this has been a project my dad and I have been working on. It is a restored Kompact Kamp Motorcycle Trailer. This trailer has brand new hubs, brand new bearings, brand new seals, brand new wheels/tires, and brand new 5 pin connector and wire loom. The frame, axle, and jack have all been sanded and painted. It is ready to haul way too much of your junk with you on the motorcycle $1000 More pics in the craigslist ad. http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/5604516201.html

  3. Hey all, I met a rider around the hocking hills region and he showed me some roads I havnt been on before. He also referred me to this forum. I have a couple years of on the road experience on a cbr, and I've grown up racing motocross. Just looking for rides and meeting new people. I'm sure this is the right place.

  4. What's going on guys. Hoping to meet some people and find some rides in my area. I'm only 17 but try to be mature and responsible when it comes to riding. I took the Ohio course last year and bought a 2009 klx250sf motard as my first bike this winter. I rode to and from highschool everyday I could and put about 700 miles on it so far, but am hoping to do way more this summer.

  6. Some mirrors vibrate, some don't. I replaced mine and... they vibrated. I put rubber washers and o-rings everywhere I could, and it worked. No vibration, and they actually stayed put. They look like they want to move around kinda squishy, but no problems at all. edit: Might also try two thin strips of cork or rubber under each mirror clamp. Even a rubber band might work there.

  7. Here is my route, you may think "only 265 miles?" But I'm telling you that you will be whooped by the end of the ride. I route avoids some of the BS areas and bypasses some of the tar snakes i mentioned. Take the route counter clock wise and plan for dinner or late lunch at Cafe Rel and you will have a wonderful day. https://goo.gl/maps/ASwxR7ghA2N2

  8. Yes, yes yes...do not miss those roads. If you go down to that area and fail to hit 348 (Hogpen Gap) and 180 Wolf Pen Gap I'll slit your sack and put your leg through it. Hogpen Gap is one of my top 5 roads of all time. Now between Clayton and that area I can tell you 357 and 197 are FRESH Tar Snake heaven and sucked ass. We jumped of off 197 and hit Burton Dam Rd. And Charlie Mountain Rd. they were much cleaner. 76 is okay mostly 4 lane, it is senic and has some bends but not a road you can speed on at all kinda like a freeway. I'll post up the route I take when I go down there when I get to my computer.

  9. My mirrors are connected to threaded bar ends. I had to fabricate a copper spacer to allow for some gap where the mirrors could attach. It feels rock solid and all, but that probably just allows for more shock to travel through the bar ends.

  10. The changes you suggested...going out 64 from Franklin shortened it by 50 miles. If you want the original route plus Blood Mountain I would do the below: https://goo.gl/maps/tSjyCoAyGiP2 Then where you see that marker that says 'Wolf Pen Gap'. Just round trip Wolf Pen from there, you won't be sad. But stick with it, half way across you will wonder WTF I sent you down that road, it doesn't get great until you go across the crappy bridge by a river and a small park. There is a big gas station on the corner, you can't miss it. You really don't want to skip 348 man, I promise.

  12. 64 west if Franklin sucks, plus you miss 28 south of Highlands and War Woman road. Doing it all in one day on a sportbike is pretty ambitious. Bust it up into two days.

  13. Been on it twice already this year and its clean. The section of 60 between Suches and 129 are getting a little rough but not bad if you do it uphill or northbound. Problem is I like to do Blood Mountian and Hogpen gap north bound as well. You just have to do some kind of figure 8 in that area to hit it all. And you MUST hit it all.

  14. In West Virginia now. But have never felt the need to pay for there trail pass. And I think it's bs that they don't offer a cut rate for day or weekend passes like Wayne does.

  16. Rented a fat boy for a day once. It was enough for me to get my Harley fill for probably the rest of my life.

  17. Get a set of clip ons for the speedy too. They make the bike an entirely different animal in a good way.

  20. I've been riding for 50+ years and I was never able to convince myself to drop that kind of cash on riding gear. Until last year when I found a like-new used RC suit for $400 on ADVR. Looked like it had been hanging in the closet it's whole life, i.e., never been farted in! I have to say that I'm still on the fence about 'needing' it. It's great for trips and touring when you're in it the entire day. Pretty comfortable and surprisingly flexible with respect to temperature extremes--not unbearably hot into the 80s and pretty warm into the 40s (altho you start to need extra inner layers below that). On the flip side, I never wear it for my day rides of 4-5 hours just because it's not as convenient as a two-piece system for the stop-n-go type of riding. Plus now that I'm old, fat and crotchety, it's more of struggle to get in and out easily....I usually look like I'm trying to escape from a kidnapping attempt as I try to wiggle out of the thing. As for fit, if you're buying new, the sizing chart will give you a pretty good idea of where to start and I'd recommend calling and talking with the staff about any custom styling you want done. Buying used, you're on your own, but if I remember you mentioning you're 6'3"ish and over 200#, make sure that you get the torso length long enough and the chest size right or you'll be uncomfortable.
