  1. FWIW, which isn't much. I don't think you are saying anything bad about the rider. He made a mistake, that does not make him bad. And I think getting the full story out there is the right thing to do.

  2. RIP rider, God speed. I don't know if I should post this. Don't ban me pls. This is purely information for those who have problems with the wording of the news report etc... The bike was found at fault. 3 witnesses all said the bike cut between two cars waiting a red light and went through the intersection at high speed as it turned green. The turning car saw the oncoming cars stopped at a red light just a couple hundred feet away and began her turn at a safe moment, but then the bike came through the intersection at full speed. The accident report puts no blame on the left-turning driver and instead lists 'unsafe speed' of the bike as the only contributing factor in the accident. I hate posting this, and I'm not trying to say bad stuff about the rider, and my heart goes out to his family. Just trying to help people understand why the news report is worded as he "crashed into the side of a turning car" rather than "was cut off by a turning car". There is a reason for that.

  3. on a more serious note.....are you talking to remove the wheel from the bike, or the tire from the wheel?

  5. I've also seen people recycle old slabs that have been broken up, if you know any concrete guys. They can look really good.

  6. @TimTheAzn starting next year I should be down to one for the "normal" short trips.....for the long ones, if there is space, it just makes sense to take 2 if you have them. I mean look what happened to Brandon and how well it worked out that Dan and I both had "spares".

  9. There will be a point during the pregnancy where the child will no longer be protected by gear. I'd ask for the advice of a bike-friendly OB. For me, once there was a obvious baby bump I'd be advising against riding simply because the gear won't protect against a blunt force impact to the belly. But I'm not a doctor, nor a woman, so my opinion is worth less than what you paid for it. I had my son riding on the back of my bike at age 6 or 7. I got hated on for that by many folks. Oh well. Hypothetical congratulations, BTW. :-)

  12. You should get this. Make a ramp and put the bike on top. Plenty of power for all your stuff with room to spare to charge all the jump boxes.

  21. My Gen 1 was great. Ivans jet kit, and a slip on. Mine made 136 rwhp. It did everything, from touring, to track days, to commuting. One thing to be aware of is the second gear issue. Mine lost second gear. On your test ride, if you can, make sure to take it to red line. Mine started jump out of gear around 8-9000rpms. Ended up being cheaper to replace the entire engine, than just the gears. My fz1 also had an ohlins piston kit done by traxxion dynamics and a penske rear shock. Had a magura front master cylinder and braided lines. Best brakes i've ever used. It was a rock solid, super dependable motorcycle. The only reason I got rid of it, was shear boredom.
