  2. Got to ride the little brother's Diavel around Whidbey island last summer. Fun power but doesn't turn in worth a damn. Might be related to a rear tire that's an axe handle wide.

  3. bad shoot. no reason to take life in defense of property. i'd rather a thousand bikes get stolen than have a family deprived of a loved one. your opinion may differ, but i dont care about your opinion.

  4. So a quick criminal search on the dead guy...Receiving stolen property, fleeing after conviction, attempted criminal offense...3 or 4 convictions. He may have known what he bought.

  8. Him going to the place armed doesn't mean he was looking to kill someone. It's a possibility but it's more likely that he wanted to have it if he needed it for protection. I carry a gun almost everyday almost everywhere I go. Not because I want to kill someone but because I would prefer to prevent someone from killing me. With that being said I don't buy that the guy bought it from a friend and didn't know it was stolen. If that was the case why not wait for the police and straighten everything out? If I buy a bike without a title I do everything I can to check if it's stolen. I get all the information I can from the seller to identify them later if it doesn't have a title just incase it turns out to be stolen. I record make model and license plate of the vehicle they show up in or that are parked at the house if I meet them at home. That way I can forward the information to police if it comes back stolen after I buy it. That way my defense isn't I bought it from some guy off of the Internet. I'm not exactly buying the guy who shot thought his daughter was in danger of severe injury or death either. Especially if it was a youth size bike. But just because he had a gun doesn't automatically make him guilty. I think everyone who made bad decisions is going to or is paying for their choices. Trying to sell a stolen bike is a huge risk. Fighting when busted instead of just turning it over its a bigger risk. Shooting someone to protect someone is risky. If the guy who shot is found to be lying he's screwed as he should be. The police will be able to tell from the evidence.

  10. I dont think anything that went down at the scene matters much. He got into his car armed and intentionally drove to a dangerous situation. I believe he lost any claim to self or loved one defense before he even got there. IANAL

  13. You can, but you don't know how much got left behind or if you left behind the same amount in both forks. Being a little over or under is not that big a deal but different amounts can be a big deal. You can make one. I assume it is saying fill it until it x mm from the top. Just get a coat hanger, straighten it out and tape some aquarium hose to it and measure out the distance. Add oil as you BLOW on the tube. When you hear bubbles you got it.

  17. From the news report the bike was stolen Feb 4. The kid did not have it for 3 months like his father says. Also a kid is trying to sell a bike he can't have owned for much more than a month in the winter. Sorry I'm not buying the story. Sounds like the story always given when trying to sell stolen goods and you get caught. Still I agree handled poorly. The story about the danger to others sounds like a story also. Not a happy ending for either party

  19. Glad I saw this post. Getting a new car this weekend, need to make sure the door is at least 3 feet long so I can follow the law and still swat them out of the way with the door.

  23. Took the bike out for a quick run through some mediocre twisties in northwest PA. Nothing like a 150 miles on the bike in 2.5 hours to clear the head.
