So the Epic Fall ride is now renamed to the ROAR? I like it. Makes it easier to differentiate between the spring and fall rides.2 points

So today, I got to take a 2017 Motus MST for a demo ride at the MSTA Rally in Marietta. I went with just myself and a control rider for a 25 mile or so loop, up 77 for a couple miles then through the hills and over to the fresh pavement on 26. For a $30k+ motorcycle, it leaves a lot to be refined. The throttle is very twitchy down in lower rpms, even the sales guy said they are working on a new throttle map for the bike, due to many complaints about the abruptness of the throttle. The seating position is very good (and I can sit flat footed on it with my knees bent. I tip toe the FJR), wind protection sucks. The power down low is kinda dull, but then get up to 5k rpms and your face melts off (Much like getting up on the pipe on a 2 stroke). IMO, if I am paying $30k+ for a bike, I want ABS, traction control, and wheelie control (It comes up easy). The suspension is probably the best I've ever felt (Ohlins of course). The brembos were good, I didn't wanna test them too much with an unfamiliar bike, no ABS, and a clause that clearly stated if I broke it, I bought it. 5th and 6th gear are both overdrive, so on twisties, the bike is always a 2nd or 3rd gear to be in the power. The cruise control is weird to set, since it uses the starter button. No way to advance or resume cruise without completely cancelling it and resetting. Absolutely could not get the bike to go into neutral while running, even the sales guy was like "Just turn it off and it will go into neutral". The TFT dash is awesome, but it is very low and hard to read, but I could see getting used to it. But it's all about the motor. It just makes you wanna rip the shit out of it every straightaway though. It sounds amazing with the Akrapovic system. It does have some vibration in the bars are expected, it ain't no inline 4. It's a fun bike, but no replacement for my idea of a sport touring bike. I know I am being critical of the bike, but it's double the price of the Sport Touring Competition. I mean hell, I know I am picky, but who makes a specifically designed Sport Tourer and makes it chain drive?! It was a great experience, and I'm glad I did it. If anyone wants to try it themselves, the dealer is called "CCM of Northern Kentucky" They are just below Cincinnati and offer demo rides for all their bikes apparently.1 point

Just ordered me some tires for this trip, sometime soon I need to work on finalizing the routes. Looks like right now there are only 4 commitments?1 point

The dielectric grease isn't doing you any good here. You'd be better off carrying a can of electrical contact cleaner, fine sand paper, a nail file...whatever. Let's see if I can explain the nature of your problem one last time. Some of the ground terminals on your bike were designed to carry so much load that they are right on the border line of overload. Any degradation of the connection through them creates heat, which ultimately melts the terminal block and wire shielding, ruining their ability to do their designed job. By nature, dielectric grease does not conduct electricity...making your already marginal connection...worse. Pulling them apart to reapply this grease renews the connection enough to function...for a bit. The grease helps prevent corrosion, but it hurts the electrical connection. Fix it right. My offer is still open, btw.1 point

It certainly wouldn't be out of the question for an 11-12 year old sport bike with 40K hard miles to be in need of a new clutch. As others have noted above, if feels slow to accelerate but the RPMs are rising quickly, go clutch. If the bike feels slow to accelerate with throttle and the RPMs hold stable, you've got another issue--fuel/spark/???1 point

Rpms never really jumped, just seemed to continually increase without stumbling. It was difficult to stay locked in on the tach because even in 1st gear at 9-10k you're moving pretty fast. I'm really leaning towards the fuel pump now. I usually ride with earbuds in and I typically turn the music on before firing the bike. A couple weeks ago I was just moving the bike around at the house and turned the key and the pump sounded much louder. Sounded like it was struggling enough to make me look for a pump on EBay. I even told my wife that I thought my pump was dying. Bike was running fine, however, as rode back and forth to work. I was riding more aggressive yesterday and I noticed it acting funky shortly before I stopped to get fuel but I just thought I must have been in too high of a gear. After fueling up and using the restroom I hit the road and started to focus in on the issue. At first it seemed fine, but then shortly after it started to have the same issues. I'm probably going to go ahead and order a pump off EBay. I don't think cleaning mine is going to fix it by the sound that is making.1 point

Cleaned up the way I powered my devises. Ran all my power cords down the bars to below the fairing instead of having everything plugged into the power outlets on the dash. Looks so much cleaner. And now I have 2USB and a 12volt outlet on the dash to use as a back up . Multi meter in in my phone mount as a reference for the picture since I needed my phone to take the pic.1 point
