Thanks for an amazing day at the track fellas!

Took my youngest daughter out for a 1.5 hr ride. May have hooked her on riding just like her sister. I took her to the best road we have nearby. When asked what she liked best. "The corners dad". When I explained there are much better roads out there, she seemed more open to a longer ride. Just may have to take her to Deals Gap next year.

I just picked up an FZ1, so that I can do a track day next year. These threads are the cause. I wish I would have gotten it sooner, so I could have done a track day this year.

I've always been a fan of the big 2 strokes. I've been looking for one of these for a few years and ran across this one almost 2 months ago. Its taken awhile to get it here from Medford Oregon but it finally showed up last Monday. Engine/suspension all stock(save for the chambers). AirTech fairings, R6 front brakes. I've only had time to take it for 1 (quite illegal) ride and everything works as it should on a 31 year old 2 smoke. There's nothing quite like the power delivery of a 4 cylinder 2-stroke as it comes on the pipe .

I picked up a 2006 gen 2 FZ1 today. It has low milage <14k. It has a set of 5 year old Contmotions that will get changed to some Dunlop Roadsmart 3s in the next week. I have only briefly ridden it, but I think this will be a great compliment to the Connie. It is comfortable, light, and quick. It has an aftermarket slip on pipe, but no reflash. I may get it reflashed. Any suggestions from other FZ1 owners?

Awesome day, couldn't have asked for anything more. I'll give a better review in a bit, but first have to give a shout out to my track day savior, @motocat12, for solving my clutch issue at a moment's notice. Dude kicks ass.

Installed the new-used fuel pump I got off EBay on Saturday. Took the bike out 2 up today for 1.5 hrs. Pulled in the driveway and dropped off my daughter then went down the road to test the bike out. Bike seemed to run great, no hesitation. This is good news. The last time I tested after my commute from work (30 min ride) I could notice a hesitation. I'm not 100% it's fixed, but seems it could be. The mechanic at the bike shop I stopped at mentioned it could be a bad fuel pressure regulator When I explained my symptoms to a buddy of mine who is a much better mechanic than I he also mentioned the fpr. On the 06 1000rr the fpr is built into the pump. So, maybe that was my problem. Thanks so much to all of you that mentioned things to check out, and help with diagnosis.

Yes sir. Took a little while to find some of the parts but all is good now. Did some rejetting while it was apart so now maybe I'll be able to keep you and the blade within eyesight lol

Hey ninja been off the saddle for a while. work and family took most of my time off the last few years. bought myself another bike just recently and looking forward to get some miles down before it get too cold. lets hope some folks will come down from up here so I can tag along. take care hope to see you soon.

My plan is to maybe fine a something light that I can do short rides and a track day on over the winter.

If you're looking for a 3 day twisty fix, this route is pretty hard to beat. Day 1 Uhrichsville, OH to Harrisonburg, VA Day 2 Harrisonburg, VA to Buckhannon, WV the mountain passes on 33 and 39 are so good you'll want to turn around and ride them again.
