  1. DATE: July 2, 2018 Ok guys and gals, we are going to do something for 1st and possibly 2nd timers (people who are new to track riding) the opportunity to do this day for free (in terms of track costs.) Back in 2016 @RHill (Ryan Hill) offered me a Mid-Ohio gift certificate so I could come out and ride the track the same day he was there ( I was a little tight on money at that particular time). I accepted this gracious offer and was going to pay him back with another cert the following year. Unfortunately I was never able to repay Ryan as he unexpectedly passed away that October. I'm not sure if I've ever met someone with the passion this guy had for all things track days and motorcycles. He was the first one to lend a hand and wanted everyone to have a good time. He was a staple in the paddock and is missed immensely. Since I was not able to pay him back, and I knew his passion for sharing his passion with other people., I am going to be giving away a Mid-Ohio gift certificate to a new track rider who would like to join us. I would prefer that person to be at least a member of OR since this is where details about this day will be posted etc. So if you had someone that was thinking about joining us for this epic day and is not a member, get them to sign up and post in here! You will have to let me know if this is going to be your 1st or 2nd time on track and I will keep a list of names and will draw a random number to determine the winner. No strings attached, and it's on the honor system in terms of how new you are to the track. I can't wait to get out there with you guys (since I wasn't able to ride at the OR day last year). Cert Giveaway List: 1. bowdog 2. JustinNck1 3. Killer_kaw 4. Wojo72 5. max_power 6. jhalls 7. Crazy Skull Crusher (Winner!) 8. amshort13 9. wolfeman28

  2. Trump is hated mostly by the 2 political "gangs", simply because he is truly an outsider. That man is no GOP, career politician, nor is he a democrat, he ran the GOP platform simply because there is currently no chance for an independent to have a fair opportunity at winning "he beat the corrupt system". Trump is a leader for sure, you don't however have to agree with his tactics. I say again, actions/results speak louder than words, and Trump is toying and playing with so many people it is comical. We forget that we have had many non PC presidents in the past, and I most certainly don't care what anybody from another country "and in particular here" thinks negatively about my country. It is bout time for "America first", he is the American President not the world President, and no other country will EVER do more than the USA does for helping others. Getting shit done isn't always fair, hell nothing in life is fair nor is it guaranteed. We have so many government dependent people in this country it is beyond embarrassing, and more than not are just playing the system because they can. Those are multitudes of voters for the democratic party, and the democratic politicians know fully well how to continue baiting them all in for votes. Emotions, outrage, feelings, free shit..........there is your liberal progressive voting base, those will be the first people to go should we have a massive natural disaster or man made attack which changes life how we currently know it. I am a YUUUUGE Trump supporter and I make no apologies for it, he is the President this country has desperately needed for a very long time. We will find out soon a little bit more how deep the deep state is, and there will be heads rolling for sure. Trump is draining that swamp folks, and those who actually know him say he is brilliant and scary smart. Love him, hate him, loathe him.....we will ALL benefit from his Presidency. Corrupt politicians from both sides are running scared, the deep state is running scared......TRUMP is coming for them.

  4. To expand on this, the CRs/coaches control traffic while on the track. There's no passing like you see in races in novice. The slower group's CR will line them up and slow them down on the right side of the track and the faster group's coach will line their group up and pass on the left. With that said, novice will not feel slow unless you are comfortable riding beyond mach retard on the streets. There's fast on the street and then there's fast on the track. Track slow is still street fast. @jschaf got me started on the track with a track day cert as a birthday gift a couple years back. It's one of the best, if not the best birthday present I've ever gotten. Hopefully we can convert some other poor soul with this raffle

  5. Got heat in the shop today. That's more for me than the bikes, but it will make me able to do stuff with them again soon!

  7. Would be cool if this was an annual thing. I would throw some bucks at group-buying a cert or two to donate to get new/interested people out to the track. We'd need some disclaimers though.

  9. I'd throw in, but I just joined the forum and I've already done one trackday, plus I already have my $200 stuck in my secret bike fun envelope well hidden from the misses. If anyone on the forum is apprehensive about going, maybe thinking "I'm too slow", "I don't have a crotch rocket", whatever. Guys, it just doesn't matter - it is a blast and no one cares how fast or slow you are! Everyone just does their thing, and the coaches are great - they'll lead you around the track and show you the line. It's definitely not a race in the Novice group. No passing is allowed except on the back straight coming out of the keyhole. Just hold your line and let the faster guys scoot by. DO IT! I promise you won't have any regrets, just awesome memories forever

  12. This is a great opportunity to come hang with good group of like minded motorcycle nuts. Here is the main thread about the day. No need to have a "track bike", if you get drawn out of the hat and have a street legal bike, it'll work just fine. Tape a couple things up and you're good to go. Can be done the morning of. But I don't have leathers! Not a problem, Mid-Ohio has rental leathers available and your own two piece textile suits are enough to pass tech on your first day. Here is the official Mid-Ohio requirements page, nothing too out of the ordinary from most street gear for the Novice group. It's loads of fun, can't wait to see you there. Big thanks to Tim for organizing this day and for honoring Ryan in such a cool way.

  16. Today the Wife suggested that the Driveway needed to be cleared of snow. I went outside to the garage and got sidetracked. The driveway can wait, It's getting warmer anyway. P.S. I finally found a usage for the nanny Traction Control option, Playing in the snow. Also my Epic Ride Hoodie with no writing on the front.

  17. Yup, politicians strive for votes, which guides their media narrative. If it doesn't match their policy and platform, they do one and say the other, and blame it on the other party. Both parties do this, to varying degrees, depending on their desperation. Must see through the smoke screen, looking for the hidden agendas. And current media "foaming at the mouth hysteria" really doesn't help any at all. Throw in excessive lobbying of Congress, and the average American just isn't represented very well, and has almost no means of finding factual information. No one argues that DC is not a swamp pit, except career politicians and their kin.

  19. I like the "no sugar coating" attitude he has. While it may not be very "Presidential" he not exactly lying or being "racist". And just because the republicans say the don;t like him dosn't mean he won't get reelected, hell they didn't like him during the last election either. And that's the biggest difference between Liberal's and Conservatives. A lib will get butt hurt and "loose respect" for some one that has a difference in opinion. Most (not all) conserv's will just listen to the rambleing's chuckle about them and move on. I have no ill will towards anyone reguardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, political views or income. Ill sit down have a drink talk about motorcycles or the weather all day long. I'll show them respect, dignity and treat them like any other person in the world. I might say i don't agree with that and your can also say that. But don't try to push your beliefs on me and tell me i have to change my views. That is the only time I'll get upset. There are many thing i don't agree with in the world and country. But I'm not going to tell you that you have to see it the same way. If it does't impact me I really don't care. But if my families safety, finances and liberties are being impacted i sure the hell will speak up.

  20. Why? Because some people have a different opinion. I'm afraid that is pretty weak.
