  2. I won’t make the whole season but I do plan on making a few rounds. Undecided on which class as of now. Most likely Supermoto

  3. I have had, Progressive, Ohlins and some may remember S&W street stokers all twin shocks and I feel Hyper Pro & Wilbers are top shelf build quality and with the add on up grade features to allow easy fine tuning. I am happy with my money spent. Again this is just an opinion of a old fart and I am sure anything you upgrade to will be just fine. Good luck, I hope you are happy with what ever you decide. B.

  4. Good luck with the new ride, Pauly. It’s a great looking bike.

  5. Typical internet. Asks a very specific question. Gets nothing but unsolicited advice.

  6. Never thought I’d hear you say those words. I understand it though. The only thing inevitable is change. We’ve seen lots of that around here through the years. Good luck with the new Yamaha. Mine has never let me down and has only required basic maintenance.

  7. Yes, honestly don't wear a 3000$ airbag suit because your incredibly likely to go down a few times your first couple weekends as you acclimate to the bike (if you are trying to push yourself to learn). Find a nice suit for cheap and bring it! Hell, Jacob was wearing a suit held together by duct tape at one point because he didn't want to wear his brand new suit for OMRL. Also I wear a Shoei GT Air which isn't Snell approved and no-one has said a thing. Pretty much as long as you are taking the steps to protect yourself, no-one will really say anything. Just remember, crashing still hurts if you aren't wearing the right gear whether it's legal or not!

  8. I'd put that money toward hookers and blow.

  9. You could spend $200 on gear or $2000. My first set of gear was $140 eBay leathers, and clearance boots/gloves. I already had a helmet. Current suit cost me $650 used... a set up stock xr100 tends to be $1300ish. It’s easy to find really clean bikes for more, and not all that hard to find older ones for less.

  10. I got my 1999 XR ready to race for $950 three years ago. The newer CRFs are better (fresher engines mostly I think) but I am competitive on mine. I'd look to spend close to $1300-1800 for a newer CRF set up ready to go. They are posted up for sale on the OMRL Facebook page pretty regularly. Gear is a set of leathers, boots, gauntlet gloves, back protector, Snell rated helmet. An Aerostitch or other real good textile gear has been acceptable for your first race.

  11. The Ducs always started and ran flawlessly. It was all the little things that were irritating. The Multistrada was pretty much the most brilliant bike I have ever owned. The fuel tank expansion was a drag, but after the warranty replacement it wasn't much of an issue. The fork seals leaked at 15k miles, but after I rebuilt them they were no trouble. The bastard just ate sprockets, though. Really, it was the ST3S that drive in the coffin nails for me. Wouldn't run properly without an O2 manipulator. That only mildly cured the problem, but at least it didn't cough through the airbox on acceleration. It would just randomly stall at idle. The coolant hoses leaked through the seams. I hate the smell of coolant. The fuel tank welds leaked. The list just kept growing and I just lost my love for it. This Yamaha will do well enough after I massage the suspension a bit. I doubt it will compare to the Multistrada, but it will be close enough. I really thought that ST3S was going to be a fantastic bike. Maybe it would have been after I worked out all of the kinks? I am quite alright with not ever knowing. So long, Ducati. ....unless I find a smoking deal on a Panigale.

  12. This. The house I just bought, our realtor easily saved us 10K with her knowledge of specials that Huntington was doing and connected us with bar none the best mortgage officer I’ve ever used. I had all my financials in order and preapproved with another bank already but at her suggestion I talked to Vicki at Huntington. Easily saved 10K on the loan with closing and incentives I knew nothing about before her. And the contract she wrote up for us got a few things fixed on the house that I missed. You use one not because you can’t do it on your own but because they’re more knowledgeable about it than you are. In a purchase that large that knowledge can mean a ton of money. In my case over 10K
