  1. Bullshit. Every bike you ride has rider AIDS.

  4. With all the track knowledge and faster, safer training/practice, you guys should be crash proof by now. Sorry I had no idea.

  7. I doubt it at this point. The BMW is here to stay. The Voyager will go eventually, but it is just about perfect for 2-up touring and it is in damn-near perfect condition. When the time comes, it will be replaced with a luxury tourer of some kind. I want to see how well the Goldwing ages. I was looking at 900 Multistradas, but the lack of weather protection and a maintenance-free drivetrain dropped its appeal for my current needs. The BMW just blows it away in ride quality, too. (which was a real shock to me, honesty). I expected the GS to be this gigantic, hard to operate, slug of a bike. It is 100% not that in any sense of the word. Will I take it into the woods? Probably not on purpose, but that may change after a couple seasons. For now, the Hyper will be my hooligan bike. I really enjoy it and see no immediate reason to dump it. The GS might change my mind, but time will tell.

  8. I must be missing something, because I don't get a "track vs street" vibe on this forum. I see it as friendly mocking of that minsdet, rather than a staunchly planted "fuck track guys" flag. I see a "Groms are fucking stupid" trend, but that is because Groms are fucking stupid.

  10. You are forgetting about the 20+ other riders vying for that same corner at the same time.

  11. So true. It was a big moment for me when I got the bump to intermediate group on 536. I'm 100% in A group for 800 though.

  12. I can memorize turns also and keep riding the same ones over and over again and be 1000x beter at them in due time too. On the street you have to be able to adapt to ever changing conditions. And have to leave some talent on the table for those unexpected moments. Always scanning always on alert to the ever changing conditions, terrain and obstacles. The track you go out into a mostly controlled environment. Things seldom chage and all you have to do it hit your marks and improve your line and work on being faster. Two totally differnt skill sets in my option.

  13. I don't hate the track. The only reason I am a skilled rider is because of being on a track. It was an invaluable tool in my progression of being a safe long term rider. Like most people that no longer go to school after they graduate but still use the education I don't feel the need to visit the track after I achieved the level of competency I was seeking. I no longer enjoy making the sacrifice needed to make it to a track. I ride when convenient and the weather is good. Just like an education I spent more money riding on a track than I have ever spent riding on the street and no longer wish to expose myself to those liabilities. If I can recall correctly the last time we rode together I ended up having a long conversation with a LEO because of your shenanigans. I bet you would send people home or away from a group ride now if they weren't ready too, you fucking meanie.
