  1. Pauly you said some thing gold. VA/WV weekend or 3 days trips are double bang for buck than gap trip. Plus no one has to trailer, cheaper stays and far less crowded, all within riding distance even for the “luxury” rider. Now that’s a solid plan and very good one at it. Let’s make it at least twice a year

  2. Nivin, we will have to meet in the middle. I see a new OhioRiders rally being forged somewhere in the VA/WV area. A quick shoot up 501 to Lynchburg and you are right here with us. Stay active here, Friend. I know I speak for everyone when I say your enthusiasm and spirit brighten this world of motorcycling for us. I appreciate you and plan to see you on several rides as we grow older. You don't let the good ones slip away because they move physical locations. You're stuck with us, Nivin. We are your moto-family and you are loved very much.

  4. A very compromising question to ask in a forum full of folks who love their bike very dearly

  5. Yes, I was warned lol. I've always found its really hard to judge just by talking to people. Got to get out on the road with them to find out. It's nice to find a group of riders that have better skills, gives me a chance to learn.

  6. Yes. It is YOUR driveway. You owe him zero explanation. You owe him zero BBQ invites. You owe him zero beers. What you DO owe him is a firm position of your expectations. Expecting him to accommodate you without telling him what those expectations are is unfair. Just know that all you do owe him is a firm "No. You may not use my driveway." You do not owe him what, who, how, why or when. You only owe him an answer. I learned a few things in the past few years. One of them is "'No.' is a complete sentence."

  7. CDC just said in their week 17 update, that COVID is no worse than a bad flu year, for the over 65 age group. Less for all others. That's for the entire country, including the epidemic centers like New York. So it's two thirds less than a regular flu, for the entire country, outside of the New York area, which has more than 60% of all cases so far. I'm not sure we could have done this better, but I think we should have done this better. Too much damage was done.

  8. Easiest miles I have ever done. The ride quality of that giant bike is unreal. I left my house at 7, took 77S to 800 in Urichsville to the river, and was parked at the Certified in St. Marys at 9:30. It just goes without so much as a wiggle or shimmy. We were in Clay by noon, having left the Certified at 10:40. I can say we were putting the moves on 16S, but I do not think we were pushing the envelope. We had the right amount of mojo for an awesome ride. I checked my phone in Clay and had nothing from you guys. We decided we wanted more, so I made an impromptu route adjustment and we made our way to Webster County via some tasty mountain passes. 2 hours later, we were snapping pics in the town square. That is when I finally got your texts, but still had zero signal. Nothing I could do for you guys, so we took 15W from Webster Springs to Flatwoods, then found 5W and brought it back to 16. We finally found fuel at Barkers, in Smithville. My dash said I had 19 miles of fuel left. My last fuel stop was the Certified, in St. Marys. That 8 gallon tank is impressive. We had some food and chatted with an older Harley guy on a beautiful white FatBoy. He complimented the BMW and was fairly knowledgeable about the model. We talked about rides, roads, routes, etc. He was polite and we tried to return in kind, but once he changed the subject to Covid-19 conspiracy theories, we fired up the engines and waved goodbye. Not today, friend. Today is a mental health day and I am burning daylight. 16N to St. Marys like a flash. Jamie took point and I got to hear the delicious snarl that MT-10 delivers. I believe that is one of the sexiest noises a motorcycle can deliver. Too bad it comes at a price of 15mpg. It was already almost 6PM by then, so we just opted for 77N. I set my cruise and listened to Joe Satriani and Steve Vai shred some strings. It was an easy day for me. The BMW kept me cozy and handled the two "oops" moments where I was going faster than I thought I was. In that regard, it is a tricky machine. The environment is so much less harsh on the GS that you don't realize how quick you are moving until you come to a corner too hot and just about shit yourself. Even then, it just handles it. It is hard to explain how good that bike is, so I won't even bother. I will just say what I told Jamie when he asked me if I see it in my garage in 5 years... Yes. Unless I crash it, in which case I will drive to the BMW dealership the next day and buy a brand new one without hesitation. Maybe not the Adventure model, but certainly another 1200 GS.

  10. About 400 miles today. I started out at a medium pace. Then I ran into @NinjaDoc, @Skinny guy, and @Muckles . The pace increased instantly. Hope I didn’t ruin your fun gentlemen. Sorry my ride with you all was short lived. I needed to be home by 5.

  12. And there is your problem. You seem to be afraid of conflict with this neighbor. Until you tell him to stop, he has no reason to stop. The longer it goes, the worse it gets. You're letting yourself be taken advantage of.

  13. I stumbled upon the forum here and figured I come check it out. I grew up like a lot of other people riding dirt bikes. I had a YZF600R back in the mid to late 90s. I don't know how many times I had my motorcycle temps, but for some reason or another I never got my endorsement until 2018. Life got in the way and I ended up being out of Motorcycles for a good 15 years at least, but the addiction that laid dormant has come back strong. Shortly after I got my endorsement I went and bought a 2018 Yamaha MT09 in September of that year. I have since put on about 9,500 miles. I love to carve the twisties and like to put on the miles. Looking forward to meeting some like minded folks with whom I can share joy of the ride.

  23. Many patient who were vulnerable and even more family and bystanders in the elderly age group kept coming to hospital last week with no concern for the disease. When we would advise them to be safe avoid contacts and stuff they would tell me it’s all a hoax and i was wondering where is such a View point developing. All I see was panic and more panic in social media. I don’t have tv hence don’t know what actual media says. Then One of the Doc in forefront of the fight bought this clip up in discussion and I couldn’t believe it. Worst part is just a random search shows avg age of Fox News audience is 64-65 / a major chunk above 80 that’s even worse. 😑 I do understand these days it’s all opinion channel and there are no news channel. That’s why I don’t even have tv and waste time on it. People just want to watch what they want to see and hear. There is no gathering info and analysis by individual, just spoon fed vitriol and hate 24x7 from either side. All over the world same deal. it’s propaganda spreading and political mind altering from left or right happening on a daily basis. But when it comes to actual science there should be no excuse for this kind of approach and attitude. a hard truth based on science and facts which affects all of humanity shouldn’t be altered like this. Media shouldn’t be the judge of what’s right and wrong about science as it evolves. This right here was a massive disservice to the US.

  24. If I tried something like this it would be a for sure emergency visit to the dentist. Arms would give out and my face hitting the ground would be the only thing to stop me.
