  2. Trying to not be too aggressive with what I post to make sure I don't come across as selling it (Which everyone should buy at least one - ), but Ducati did the world wide press launch of the 2013 1199R at Circuit Of The Americas (COTA). Pretty damn cool even if I couldn't be there (I was riding the new Multistrada and new Hypermotard bikes in Palm Springs). The bike is really awesome and I can share some details if you all have questions, but I will just leave you with some really awesome pics. These are all public so, nothing special... Fast standing still: Track colors are beautiful and look amazing in the backdrop: These two punk kids were given a stern warning followed by a high five and a smack on the ass for a good game: Not sure what magazine this guy works for... This is our factory test rider/development rider. His lap times were astounding on DOT Pirellis. I cannot state what they are until corporate says so, but let's just say that it was a shocker and had people wide eyed.

  3. I would like to open a sandwich shop after retiring from the AF. The type of place for a quick hot dog or gyro. I am from Illinois originally and imagine a taste like Portillo's: http://www.portillos.com/portillos/ and similar in size/atmosphere to Chicago Gyro's and Dogs: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/123/1464506/restaurant/Chicago-Gyros-and-Dogs-Dayton Any thoughts or ideas?

  4. I decided to test my new gloves out with my XDs in hand and see how much trigger finger I needed. I found that I can get all the way to the first knuckle. Ill probably get vilified for this picture. I wanted a good pic of the loaded chamber, so i put my trigger lock on, stuck the handle in a vice, stood off to the side and it took me 15 shots to get this picture. Definitely an intimidating sight

  5. I have concluded that the people who left me negative scene points and harassed me are: 1. Regular CCW holders who are salty with the fact that they can't enjoy shitty wings at an establishment like BW3s. 2. Don't even lift(why they need a gun). 3. Counted to potato. 4. Jimmies rustled.

  7. Motorcycling is about passion. If you try to make sense out of it you're missing the point. It's your bike, you enjoy it so do what you want with it.

  8. sigh... I have to go through this every time I post . I paid 500 for it, I could probably buy another for 500. I've put thousands into it and for what reason? Because I can. If I start to try to make sense... well, there is not much sense to it.

  15. Riding will overcome fear, and develop skills and confidence. But still, respect for the machine's capabilities, and staying alert and thinking a step ahead in traffic will keep the fun factor at a high level. Be a smart rider and minimize risks. .

  16. Was a franchisee in a previous life. Quick service food in Columbus. Owned it 3 yrs, sold it. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask away. Definitely expect long hours - but if it's a dream of yours to do it, you can definitely stomach that part of it. I did 110+/week for about the first year of that 3. A couple quick tips: if you're envisioning a high % of takeout, don't budget much more than a couple tables. Rent can be one of your highest fixed costs (if you're planning on a nice space), and it doesn't make sense to pay for empty sq. footage. In retrospect my restaurant would've been about 1/3 of what it was. Food cost can kill you. Restaurants 9 times out of 10 are very low margin, and depend upon volume for profitability. Since it sounds like you're planning on starting your own, choose your menu items with margin in mind, and live portion control. (Not only for costs, but consistency as well for your customers) Don't overstaff. It breeds laziness from staff there, kills your already small margin, and also can sometimes cause confusion with customers as well - you've seen it, just walk in a recently opened chain, it's like a bunch of monkeys fucking a football. As an owner, don't expect your employees to do anything that you won't also do. Don't force them to always clean the shitter at the end of the night just because they're your employees, do it yourself sometimes - they'll trust you more for it. Single best piece of advice. Tip Jar. (Applies to quick service) It's for the employees. You NEVER touch it. (Except to divvy it up evenly, month ending or the like). Make it known however that if the register is short by $x's...maybe anything north of $5-10 it will be corrected from the collective tip jar fund. Your benefits - 1. always correct register. 2. incentivized employees to provide good service. 3. Employees will self regulate. We had ppl telling us about a theft prob because it was killing what they were going to get at the end of the month in tips. I could probably go on for hours with what I learned in 3 years. Feel free to shoot me any questions in a PM and I'll do my best to respond. And, best of luck to you. It's hard work, but can def end up being a rewarding thing to click on that open sign for the first time.

  20. I understand the exact point you're trying to make, but some people act like they have seperation anxiety from a gun, if it isn't on their hip. Man the fuck up, you'll be okay with it left in the car. Let's be honest, in a situation where someone might pull a gun and shoot someone in a bar or parking lot, I bet 80% of you would climb under a table and suck your thumb out of instinct. Everyone thinks carrying a gun will also make them a hero, and it's just a delusion of grandeur, and in my opinion, a false sense of security. If someone wants to shoot you, they're going to do it before you can react. I think a weapon at home to protect your property is fitting, but carrying in every single establishment is a little much, IMO.

  23. I really don't think anywhere close to even 50% (and I'm afraid this is being generous) of CCW holders that carry would be able to hit the target in the heat of the moment. Between focusing enough to get it out of the holster quickly, taking the safety off, loading the chamber, and not just taking the shot, but making the first shot effective because that may be the only shot you have. You can run a dry practice all you want, but no telling until you get a real adrenaline rush from seeing a weapon pointed at you or someone else.

  24. I've been going to B Dubs occasionally since I do like their food, even though they have no gun signs up at every location but I think I'm done with them after reading this article. Their policy is “It is the company’s practice to allow credentialed officers to carry guns” even though their employees confront them about it, and regular citizens aren't allowed to carry there at all. This is past what I can stomach, so I'm boycotting them. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/03/28/buffalo-wild-wings-sorry-after-gun-fearing-waitress-refuses-to-serve-cops/?intcmp=obinsite
