I started the thread, so I consider myself better qualified than your illiterate self to describe the point of the thread. It was to claim Obama liked Muslims more than Bikers. However man Muslims are "marching" today, there are millions across the country who are in no way responsible for 9/11, and have no terrorist ties whatsoever. (And I'm not saying anyone marching IS a terrorist... I don't understand what they think they're accomplishing) People use the term "Muslim extremist" a lot; and I don't have a problem with that, except for the fact that they focus on the "Muslim" part and ignore the "extremist" part - which is undeniably more significant. Think of it this way: the Westboro Baptist Church wackos could just as accurately be described as "Christian extremists." Nobody goes around cursing "those damn Christian terrorists."

Muslim extremist were 100% responsible for the 911 attack "and they are for real", and they are growing in vast numbers worldwide. Yes there are peaceful Muslims, but they get thrown into the mix with the bad ones. The same can be said about Christians, and they too get lumped into the bad ones or extremely confused ones. This country is very leery of the Muslim faith for many reasons, they were not always here in droves like they are now, and they have become very powerful and influential here. There are many Muslim terrorist cells in this country who are planning and scheming, to think otherwise would be foolish. I am impressed with the fart parade and all the planning and logistics that went into it, not my cup of tea but I sure respect and am all for it.

I thought that the issue was the peaceful demonstration of a group of motorcyclists in opposition to a group of muslims demonstrating on the anniversary of the muslim attack on our country? I see no reason why the riders would not be granted a non-stop pass thru the city, but I'm glad that they weren't granted that pass. Now their presence will have a greater impact on the area because of the flood of bikes stopping and starting thru the city. Good for them, and wish I were going to be there.

I've been wanting to do a ride that includes 541,60, 83, 78 and 669. So I'm trying to put it together for Saturday. The Buckeyes game isn't till 7pm, so it's a good morning to ride. I'm thinking meet at KFC in Newark at route 16 and Cedar Street (Route 79) at 11am and then head out. The trip is medium length, faster pace.....but we wait for everyone at the intersections. So don't let your pace keep you from joining the ride. Hope to see you guys out there.

If it came out that he was texting while driving then yes, I want him fired, criminal charges for involuntary vehicular assault, as well as a civil suit for both him directly and the OSHP. These guys have hanged felonies around "civilian's" necks for making mistakes not half as worse as this, if they can't uphold the standard they enforce then they have no business being on the job. If, however, it came out that he fell asleep, I have infinitely more sympathy and understanding, and for that the victim's bills should be paid, the option for a civil claim is still on the table as is their right, the cop should be off the road for a while, but I see no reason why he should be forced to step down from his job.

I would say it is less biased on more subjects. They do take (what appears to me to be) an extreme stance on gun control/gun violence.

I didn't know Larry real well, but I took his course once and wrote an article about it and then we traded e-mails and such afterwards until the evening he died in Texas. I still have the last e-mail he sent me, telling me about how he was buying this old police bike in California and riding it back to Pittsburgh. He was really excited about the trip. He always said the one thing more likely to kill him than a left-turning car was a deer, because the deer were harder to predict. I rode in the motorcycle procession at his funeral. He was a great teacher and a hyper aware rider, which just goes to show it can happen to anyone. I saw on the other forum you're back in the Versys business. I like my Versys, but in this case I was glad I was on the sportbike. The difference in brakes would have probably meant I'd have got to the deer a split second sooner and hit its body instead of grazing it. That would have meant damage, at least. Just lucky.

I have been looking at a ton of pictures online and alot of the bunkers and stuff are all over grown but the airfield on tinian should still be visable. I scuba dive so I am going to try and take an underwater photography class to get some shots of the tanks and planes around the islands. I made the mistake of google searching coconut crabs.
