  2. After much debate and lengthy time off from the car scene I'm going to get myself into a fun car this spring. In February of this year I bought an 82 Mustang that was a rolling pile of fail. It didn't run, didn't stop, looked like crackheads had lived inside and had only one thing going for it: the ebrake didn't work and it could easily be pushed off of a cliff. Since February it now has clean interior (headliner, seats, wheel, hurst shifter and a new handle - thanks mike), runs well and stops. I also slapped a rat-rod style paint job on it to keep it safe and I thought looked pretty cool. Plans are to: Get an official paint job (I would like opinions on color) 5 lug swap CCW wheels (fat meatz) Flared fenders (already have a preform kit) heads/cam/intake http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=794&pictureid=6734 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=794&pictureid=6736 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=794&pictureid=6737 http://sphotos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/330789_462884813731154_1828037804_o.jpg http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=794&pictureid=6735 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=24&pictureid=5851 Flared fender kit I have and CCW's will look something like this: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b80/shoisfast/mikeskillingstad1.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q181/horsewidower/Late%20Build%20Photos/Lipstick%20on%20the%20pig/P1020934.jpg I'm going to have the CCW's be gunmetal with polished lips. I can't decide on what color I want to make the car... I'm thinking a purple, satin white (black trim/accents) or satin grey. What do you guys think?

  7. I think the Obama administration's opposition was just to naturally disagree with whatever the NRA suggested without really considering the suggestion based on it's own merit. It's called Politics...unfortunately, it's been perfected by self-serving-douchebags.

  8. why didn't the NRA bet them that they would have to eat their own underwear if that wasnt the best solution? that said, too bad obama didn't hire me, i would've told advised him to install armed drones inside the schools, with big friendly unicorns and shit painted on it, and then he could finally institutionalize his armed american citizen execution machines while helping protect kids. a political master stroke. that's my idea NSA, you can't steal it!

  9. The helmet is hand made and due to the carbon they use, it takes about 60 days to complete. It is a pretty high scale carbon and used in F1 racing. Also, everything is painted (except the decal for Ducati/Arai) by hand also. They will also put your name on the helmet also which most do not do as it will limit the ability to sell later... Arai has the same one available without the Ducati logos. Just straight carbon... It's one of those things that shows what Arai CAN do and what technology exists and the ability to get into the hands of regular people. These are produced like the carbon F1 helmet as used by only those drivers and not the general public. We all know the cost of F1 racing and $4k plus isn't out of the norm... Wait until you hear what those steering wheels cost... It's pretty cool. If you attended the IMS shows this year, they had one at Arai and explained a lot of the process. It's a pretty spectacular lid and has things you will never find in anything else. I am not an Arai fan as to the cost vs. what protection they provide. I think they are worth the price as even now with several helmet companies doing some great things, when I put on my Arai, I am impressed. The fit and feel and the quality are pretty tough to beat. But, there are several lids that are impressive and do a great job. I run Bells right now and have been since the Star was brought out. I am a fan of Bell, but have to give it up that Arai is a pretty damn great lid also... This is just an example of technology... Simply put.

  10. So dumb. I think this was last year news, at least online chekc in was. Part of the traditions were to load up and head to the check station to BS. As if there isn't enough poaching anyway. I'm starting to think ODNR is getting a little greedy and focusing on money vs. managing.

  12. ...who'd be interested in being on the board of directors? No pay obviously. All volunteer. Monthly meetings would be mandatory (30-60 mins) which you could call in for if you're out of town or can't make it. Meetings will be at bars, members' houses, restaurants, etc. Nothing formal, although we will have to take minutes per state law. The mission of the non-profit would be to raise money for charities decided by the board, raise awareness of motorcycles, rider safety education, and connecting all riders in Ohio. I have lots of ideas but no time and little help to get things done. As a non-profit with a board of directors, we could accomplish so much more and do a lot in our communities. If I go this direction, I will be hand picking the first board. It will then be up to a vote every X year(s). The site, servers, etc will be wholly owned by the non-profit (I'll be donating it all to the non-profit). If you're interested, shoot me a PM. Include any experience that would be relevant. Anything from management, finances, administrative assistant, web hosting, programming, marketing social networking, etc can be relevant experience. This is currently just a feeler. Thinking things through.

  13. Matt and I are talking about a big event (Hob - you will be invited) where we take Hypers and do some cool blogs of using the Hypers in every form. Ice racing in MN, fire roads, road trip, Dirt Biking them and finally, a road race course. So, we will have some Hyper Motards out there to play...

  14. Thats what the news media said when they suggested that we needed armed guards in schools after the Conn. school massacre. Thats what the Democrats in the Senate and House said. Thats what a bunch of hippies here said. And it is also what Obama said. http://tinyurl.com/qzgm3kf There is nothing in the world I hate more than hypocrites. They REALLY piss me off.

  21. I work at a school. Cops in school are a good thing. They see and get involved in a lot of the BS that the students pull. I have seen them turn around many a student by getting involved....they develop snitches too...and bust some kids that need busting.

  24. I'd like to see what happened from start to finish. Is it possible the driver caused an accident with one of the bikes and tried to flee before this video begins? And the bikers were trying to box him in and keep him there till the cops arrived? Just playing devils advocate here.

  28. I have done track days with three organizations so far. Moto Series was my first, so that sort of set the standard. I have done NESBA which was a good fit after doing 3-4 with Moto. Their format was a little less formal, but safety is still number one. I also did one at Mid Ohio with their PTR program. Also different but very fun. Amazing track and facility. I think the hardest thing is to assess your ability relative to the rest of the group you are in. If too slow or too fast, no fun. Either way, all of people in each org were awesome. Knowledgeable and fun to ride with. IMHO.

  29. Dig a big hole, fill it with sticks and wood, light it, let it burn a few hours to coals, then throw the pig in, cover up the hole for about 8 hours. Extract pig and eat. Something like that. Be nice and kill the pig first.

  36. My 86 year old grandma sat down in her chair today and said " I thought he (my grandpa) said there was something on the television, all I see is an old man flapping his jaw" after she saw John Kerry talking about the situaiton with Syria... My grandma certainly doesn't even know who John Kerry is, yet it struck me as awesome that we seem to have the same view of him.
