  1. If she were smart, she would go to professional photographer, have a very tasteful photo taken, and then send it to him. Cash in on the $100,000 reward, have her college paid for, and prove that she can outsmart him.

  2. Glad you are okay, I been in OR since last few years, seen and heard of many crashes and all guys walked away with minimal injury and all of them were wearing good gear. This community needs a lot of kudos for instilling such good habits among each other other and saving many lives over the years. I dread the thought, if i got stuck with a "different" kind of non gear wearing riding bunch when i started riding in this country.

  6. Come to Joe's Cycle Shop on Saturday July 19, 2014 from 1:00-4:00pm and help fill our motorcycle helmets with cash for the Battle Buddy Foundation. Here is some history and more info about the Battle Buddy Foundation. After personally going through the process of being prescribed a service dog by the VA hospital, and then searching for a suitable service dog organization, The Battle Buddy Foundation's founder, Kenny Bass, realized the need for an organization with a focus on the veteran, created from the perspective of a veteran with post traumatic stress....and alongside other veterans and patriots, we were able to create an organization that fills this gap. If you see a need, you should work to meet that need. The Battle Buddy Foundation was Founded by Veterans to Serve Veterans. TBBF will continue our work to serve our nation's heroes, and with your support, we will continue to expand our resources to provide service dogs for veterans, and work to support our veterans by providing the necessary resources and public education to assist with the reintegration back into the civilian world. Be that someone....Join us and make a difference today. www.TBBF.org I hope to some of you at this event. Thanks for your support. Joe's Cycle Shop 3315 N. Drixie Drive Dayton, OH 45414

  7. I'm testing out a new hosting company, Digital Ocean. I'm evaluating whether to start using them for our hosting or not. You may notice their banner in the rotation up top. This links to our referral link. If you sign up with them and deploy, once you reach $25 in billing we will receive a credit for $25. If you tinker with anything requiring servers, they are cheap and fast. It could be a way for you to help us cover the costs of the hosting. For a little background, when I started Ohio Riders, I started it on GoDaddy shared hosting plan. We quickly outgrew it. Since then, I've battled different hosting companies, virtual servers, dedicated servers, colocations, etc. All ended up with extended periods of downtime. A while back I moved everything in house, literally. It's hosted in my basement currently. Well, if all goes well, I'm finishing my basement soon and don't plan on having loud ass servers running down there while I try to work in my new home office. I deploy high-availability database/website solutions for a living, so I figured what better time than now to start moving Ohio Riders in that direction. So that's what I'm starting to look at doing. 8. Incorrect. Going to court, even when guilty, pleading, "not guilty," even when guilty, and thereby forcing the State to prove its case is the constitutionally guaranteed right of all Americans. It's also a damn smart thing to do if you don't want points on your license. Unless you were doing something demonstrably stupid or you acted like an asshole to the officer, most jurisdictions will let you out the door with no points. Sure, you'll probably still pay a fine and you will pay court costs (ticket-writing is a money-maker) but you won't inch closer to that 12-point license suspension. Also, if you have a decent traffic attorney and a relatively clean record, some courts will allow you to plead to an equipment violation (which means no insurance hike and still a clean driving record). In short, pleading, "guilty" when you are, "guilty," does save time and energy - the prosecution's time and energy. That's why you should never give up a right without getting something in return. If you don't plead guilty, the prosecution has to prove the case. By pleading guilty, even if they've got you dead-to-rights, you save them time and money and that ought to be worth something. It probably goes without saying, but the principal of pleading "not guilty" as a first step applies with even more force in any case where there is even the slightest chance that you are not guilty or the prosecution will find itself with a legitimate challenge to prove your guilt. In this case, I'd have to say that the prosecutor probably could have obtained a conviction against your friend in the black Jeep. But, depending on his record, a decent attorney very likely could have gotten him a better deal than simply pleading guilty to the moving violation and paying his fine.

  9. I agree it seems like a BS ticket, which is why I never write them, but at the end of the day it's still breaking the law. To the OP. It's your word vs his in all reality. As somebody said before, all the trooper has to really say is that you were the only vehicle matching that description. The pilots are "supposed" to keep their eye on the targeted vehicle until it gets stopped by ground units to prevent any mix up like you're saying. Do they actually do that? Probably not... But be prepared that they could say that.

  13. You can call and argue with them about how much you can pay. Income based payments will take into account all of your bills, debts, etc. Make it easy, call them..."I cannot afford this, what can i do?" I defaulted on mine, turned around rehabbed them via whatever gov't program and I am currently paying based on a rising payment plan over time. Changes every 2 years i think.

  15. Schweet. I never understood guys who prized self-sufficiency to not also know how to sew. It's not that freaking hard, the basics anyway. I've saved hundreds of dollars repairing my and my daughter's clothes over the years.

  17. And they say conservatives are not accepting of others. Gee, a liberal saying she's a target. If this was, and has been, a conservative that said that, there'd be an uproar.

  20. Like I said, I need to stop thinking of gear as really expensive clothing, and start thinking of it in terms of "would I have paid $xxx.xx to not be bleeding and in pain right now?" I can't foresee (m)any crashes where my injuries would be so minor that the answer would not be a resounding "YES."

  21. I do software QA for a really laid-back company in downtown Cleveland. I got offered a position by Harley-Davidson, and they offered me more money (another $5,000) but I turned it down to work here, because of the culture. No dress code, free sodas, and a free snack closet with lots of junk food. And healthy stuff, if that's your thing, but hey, c'mon... let's be honest here Oh, and an unlimited vacation policy. Oh, and they buy us free lunch every Friday.

  22. I rode to work today and forgot to bring my flip flops. Looks like I get to wear my riding boots all day or my softball cleats I have a game right after work, so I brought them. Cleats it is!

  23. A couple of the guys at work who ride don't believe that I've crashed more times than I can keep track of. I'm going to wear the full race gear in some day and just let them take in all the scuffs and tears in my leathers. I really need to tell myself this kind of thing when I'm shopping new gear, but my leathers cost me $650 (used, but un-crashed). They retail for $1200 or something. Even if I had paid retail, I'm probably still to the point where I'm spending less than $100 per crash to walk away un-injured. That's a fucking bargain.

  24. In the groups I have ridden with over the years we have always insisted that people wear gear. We have been called gear Nazis at times. That could be true, but I've also seen plenty of crashes and never seen anyone get seriously injured.

  26. Yeah that cbr is or member dubbie yes sweet as hell. The on ramp picture I zoomed in on my lap top and the scrapes start on the far right. But yes I also will be looking into leaters. As for the details it happened so fast I couldn't tell you how the chain of flips happen only what I was told. I can tell you the thump my helmet took either from the curb or when I flew into the ditch. It felt like my freaking eye balls and brain rattled inside my skull. Never even buzzing around town will I never ride without my lid

  27. Likely a grade 8.8 metric M6 or M8. Penetrating oil bath and extractor kit would probably suffice, and gives you a reason to buy an extractor kit for any future issues. I like having reasons to buy new tools

  28. Pretty cool fish - very pretty. I hear ya about feeling sad though. I've had angelfish for probably 7 years now. My last three fish are about 3 now, but I've raised them from eggs. Always makes me sad to see them flushed... although yours probably required a higher effort burial.

  31. I high sided my bike a few years ago and was pretty lucky to not be seriously hurt. For me I spend some time trying to focus on how it happened, but in all honesty it happened so fast it's truly hard to fully know. The next thing I did was spend time bettering myself on the art of riding. That meant reading and watching some instructional videos. I also found that tearing down my bike and fixing it was helpful in getting back out riding. I know for some once the crash they are done. I think for me it was actually beneficial. It made me want to be a better rider. You can't change the past. You can only hope to learn the lessons from it and try not to repeat them.

  33. Every day of my life too. I agree, its ok enough when someone just makes assumptions unless they're trying to screw me over. I've embarrassed a few mechanics who have tried to trick me into expensive repairs that I didn't need. oh, traditional gender roles, lol. I'm gonna go do the laundry now.
