Well that piece of shit deserter Bowe Bergdahl is hopefully gonna get what's coming to him, which will be life in prison. Good on the top Army officials for not caving in to political correctness and bowing down to King Obama and his subjects. Personally I think he should be put to death if found guilty, especially considering 6 soldiers died looking for him and our KING let loose 5 really really bad guys in exchange for him. He will have a rough time in prison "if guilty", will likely need to be under constant suicide watch and under protection due to other prisoners wanting to kill him.

I swear - I don't know if I'm just the nicest guy on CL or what, but it sure seems like most people are freakin' stupid. I've text'd 2 people (per instructions in their ads) to setup a time to check out their bikes, no response. Today (just now) , I call a guy about his 750 Katana - great price, ad says to call and doesn't mention any hours so I call the guy (11:10am). Guy answers the phone and I say Me: "Hi I'm Dave, I saw your CL ad and I'm calling about your Katana. How you doing?" Sellter (sounding annoyed): "well I just got woke up", Me: "Oh, sorry is there a better time I can call you back?" seller(sounding annoyed): "Not really I'm about to go to work" me: "Ok, well I just have a couple of questions about the bike." seller: "I just started it yesterday and rode it around the block a couple of times" me: "How are the tires? Any dry rot on the sides?" seller (sounding annoyed): "if you read the ad you know that it comes with new tires" me (I have the ad open right in front of me): "I see it says that it comes with new tires, are the tires installed on the bike?" seller (sounding like i"m asking the dumbest questions in the world): "NO, it means that tires come with the bike" me: "You know what, thanks anyway. Have a good day" It's like I can't find someone cool to give my money to. When I have an ad up, if someone messages me I respond very quickly and tell them what's going on. If someone takes the time to call me I take the call, am polite, answer their questions and try to get them to come look at whatever I'm selling. Hard to believe but that's the way its gone. If you're selling something on CL and someone takes the time to check into what you're selling, don't be a dick - treat people the way you'd want to be treated. /end rant.

I've had two responses from Armslist telling me what I have. Not d-bag responses, but genuinely helpful. Both said that it is likely a Spanish Mauser. Apparently Steyr produced them for several countries' militaries in the early 1900s. Conversions to .308 were common after WWII. It would seem that I'm priced about right according to these two.

In general I'm pro-training but not in this case. The training required is just window dressing to appease the opposition in my opinion. I'll use Indiana as an example. There is no training required for CCW and there isn't blood running in the street from morons engaging in shootouts at high noon. The background checks were sufficient. It was a very rare occasion when a CCW holder made the news. It was always the idiots in Gary Indiana or certain areas of Indianapolis. The same seems to hold true in the states that have constitutional carry unless you are a felon. Kind of in the same way that I am opposed to helmet and seat belt laws. I don't ever see myself ever riding more than 50 ft in a parking lot without a helmet but I don't like the government getting involved.

This happens to me every couple months at the highway exit/entrance near my house. I stop with enough room for cross-traffic to proceed if I don't make the light, and then some asshat takes it as an invitation to change lanes into the space I've left, and ends up blocking traffic anyway. I think you missed something when your incident originally occurred. Her mom knew you were naked and fucking, the receipt was a poor excuse for her to come in and check out the goods. She was secretly hoping to get in on the action, and when she stepped over your head she was probably in a robe with no panties on. You missed out on the mother - daughter threesome.

Pokey is right. If we stopped Free Speech because people were stupid most of you would have to shut up. A right is a right, period. That said any instructor can refuse to sign off on the person and say you need more time on the range. It is written in the rules, always has been. Instructors don't sign off unless they feel the person is safe. And when I did mine I saw three people get told they needed more time on the range.

Those are two good points - 1) constitutionality and 2) I haven't seen stats that support the idea that low training is a problem. Though I bet a majority of CHL holders rarely carry based on their own discomfort. Now, me, I'm pro-education and training, but at the same time, requiring more by law would effectively discriminate against lower economic classes who have just as much (if not more) reason to protect themselves.

So where are all of these inexperienced and little to no trained citizens who are carrying, that are causing so much danger to society and those around them? I will answer that.......they are everywhere and its very rare when something bad is happening due to their ignorance and lack of experience and training. Right to carry regardless of experience or training, that is what matters most to me. I used to feel the same way about training at one point in time, but I saw the errors of my ways and common sense prevailed.

CL people are the worst. I've sold several bikes on there and people always ask the same question: 'what's the least you'll take for it?' To which I reply 'what's the most you'll give me?' Then there's the guys that wanna trade you some car audio and a lifted ford ranger with no title and a broken axle...
