  1. IC rotated to the front, as opposed to the Subaru standard top-mount. FMICs can be way bigger, and it's fun to have a Subbie that has no hood scoop, but is still charged under there...
  2. '07 WRX with an '04 STI motor/6-spd/DCCD swap and a 3076R turbo with a rotated FMIC. '00 RAV-4 (shit car for beating on) '04 RAV-4 (wife's daily car) And like Chebby said - all paid for, just like the bikes. I hate me some car (or bike) payments.
  3. Sounds good guys, looks like we have the start of a plan. We can wait for everyone to get done with work since it's not that far to drive. You guys want to go up Friday night and wake up there? I figure we can do what I've done before, and we get together Thursday evening after work and pack up everyone's stuff in the van, and hook up the trailer if we want. We can take the van to each house and pick up any bike that isn't street legal to ride down to the house. I can take out a car and store everyone's bikes in the garage while we're at work Friday, so it's nothing left out during the day. After work, we all meet up, and get right in the van and hit it so we're there with some decent time to sleep before the morning. That's just my suggestion, but if you guys would rather do anything else, we'll just do what works best for everyone.
  4. "one shot one kill....now available in CQB flavor"
  5. I think we're done here....
  6. Darius/Ohdaho, You guys have any idea if you're down for the carpool or not? After this weekend, I've gotta start making plans and prepping the bike, so I want to get an idea of what my travel arrangements might look like.
  7. then stop making babies two at a time...
  8. I dunno what laid it, but I know it was in Kenya.
  9. White is baller. You've just been put on notice. They're gonna mate with our womenz! If you're listening to this, you are the resistance!
  10. Shouldn't be a problem, we'll just need a trailer. Last time I used the van, we had three guys in it, and just my bike inside. We can do that setup again, but with three bikes; we'll put mine inside and two on the trailer. Do you guys have a trailer, or will we have to rent something?

I don't know about you guys, but my rifles are in a big ass hard case, and I can't ride with it, and I don't have a CCL, so I don't want to get mixed up in whether or not I can ride with guns. If I go, I'll drive, but I'll definitely go.
  12. For the record, I'm signed up for novice, and I'm a bit upset that once I got on the list, we're no longer calling it the "ballers". I've never been a baller before, and I was counting on finally making it. You guys are jerks. Also, I will be bringing the morning coffee for a certain azn instructor in hopes of winning him over enough to not let me kill myself on this plumber's-ass track surface. It's probably not everyone's taste, but you have to know your audience.
  13. What Samsung item did Apple steal first? This suit is the fruition of (IMO) what a lot of major companies worry about (including the one I currently work for), which is the idea of "if we source enough of our design in one place, they're gonna figure out exactly how to build what we designed." Apple bought over 5 billion in Samsung products for the 3G/3GS, and it's now saying Samsung decided to taste the fruit it was supplying. (pun intended)
  14. What are most of you guys going to be doing Friday night? Do most people camp or hotel at Nelson?

Wilson Arms match grade barrel blank, custom cut to 1:8. You're dead on about 16" length, but I would expect you to be It's an LMT upper and a Surplus Arms lower (since they're made by Aero Precision, but cost less rebranded), and I went high shelf since i have no plans to make this anything other than semi-auto. I don't trust you with the 14.... I'm in, let's go already! That's where I sight in, at the 100yd at Spring Valley. I love to shoot my 9mm at the 50yd there to see how steady I am. Minus the trips, since I already studied how to do it, probably only about an hour to get everything together. If you know how it's done and take your time, it's surprisingly easy to put together. It wasn't very involved, I just pulled the hammer back, made sure the trigger released properly (made sure I caught the hammer, though!), then did things like pull the trigger back and make sure the hammer will catch the disconnector but not release until you reset the trigger and pull again. Then I laid the selector in there and did the same things again to make sure the safety functions were all correct with the fit. Suck it.

IIRC (from my desk at work) it's a 6-24x with an adjustable objective. The intent is to get down to the 250yd range after I get it scoped in @ 100. The bipod is actually a rather pedestrian UTG pic-rail bipod, so I didn't need a swivel-stud-to-pic-rail mount. I'll use it for now because it fits and it functions, but I may upgrade to different one later. It was a good price and since it's a more basic piece, I actually like the stripped-down look of it. Basic locking and foldable legs. No fanciness needed for now.

Bushell Elite. Was gonna go Vortex, but this was on sale the day I was going to buy a crossfire. I have another Bushnell and I find their quality to be just fine so far, so until they fail me, I have no reason to doubt it.

    My AR Build

So, the situation presented itself that I would be able to try my hand at building my first AR-15, and this is the result... Started with a pile of parts and a dream. I had to build up the lower, with what started out as an RRA LPK, but since I got hosed by someone who doesn't know how to count parts when repackaging a kit, it became part Stag Arms kit as well. The first step was getting the magazine and bolt catch releases installed. Once in, we inserted the PMAG 20rd clip to test and make sure I didn't start out by already dicking things up. It went in, fit snug, and came out like a champ. Just like I like it. (insert Gen3fly joke here) Next was the trigger group, where we found out that there was no disconnector spring in my kit. A quick trip to Miami Armory got us a Stag Arms trigger group (I had to buy the whole thing), and I took out the disconnector spring and put it in my group. Everything was fine after that, and we tested the fit and function. We got the Ergo Grip on, and tested gain. Now we were ready to get the lower completed, but we realized part 2 of our LPK debacle was unfolding when we didn't have a buffer retainer or buffer retainer spring in the kit. Bastards. We called all over and actually found that Vandalia Tactical had both, and would sell them to me for $1 apiece. Jackpot. We got them in and finished the lower. Since the upper had already been test fired with the bolt carrier, we just pinned it on and got the scope & bipod on there. The guys that test fired the gun put the YHM floating quad rail on there and the fit and alignment with the A3 upper rail was great, so the scope rings went on without a problem. Here's the ol' girl all ready to go. Now I just need a nice spring weekend day to go throw some lead, and we'll see how she does. The match-grade SS bull barrel should make some decent groups, so I'm aching to see the results. Just need some dark earth rail panels for the sides and bottom and I'll be all done.
  20. I realize these are real issues, but my ass does itch, though
