  1. Well I"m going to be in church on Sunday morning, and will be until about 10:00, and I can come down after that, depending on where all you guys are going to be. Where is this ride starting?

Happy needs a spinoff lol. He get some of the best lines.
  3. I foresee this lasting about 3 hours on craigslist before he's got a buyer. sharp looking little bike.
  4. Eh. At least he went V8 with both of his original choices. Still think this thread is full of horrible ideas, though.
  5. Fast Cheap Reliable. Pick two. Seriously, you're getting way out of your league here. Nothing you buy is going to be as fast as a bike, and if your "budget" is only $8000 or so, you're going to be much better off buying a Honda Civic or Accord/Toyota Camry and running it into the ground for the next six years, saving up to buy something worth your while down the road. Both of those cars are going to cost you thousands of dollars in the long run and you goddamned well know it lol.
  6. lol, nothing of value though POS MAC-10 and a thousand rounds
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9CcotpUrB0 Reminds me of ^
  8. *SLAM* What was that? It's ok.... I'm a leaf on the wind...
  9. Had an incident on 90W today where I started a pass from the left hand lane - the car that was slightly ahead of me started to merge on over in front of me. I was too far in to brake so I hit the throttle instead, motored on past, gave him and his whole family a good look at what a "bird wearing gloves" looks like... But I didn't get panicky or anything. Weird... the last time this happened I got really shaky and adrenaline dumped... this time, nothing. Anyone else get "over" it? Not really get affected by stupid drivers anymore?
  10. I went and checked this out in person. When he started the bike up, the onboard radio just said "KILLLL MEEEEE" and then sparked dead. I didn't buy it.
  11. What kind of budget are you working with here?
  12. word. thanks. i'm not going to ride it until it's time to head over to ravenna.
  13. It's the questions you DON'T ask that bite you. Heard a weird, intermittent muffled tap coming from the engine-ish area. Called and asked the previous owner when was the last time he had the valves adjusted. "Never" Let's hope it's not bearings. So, yes - reputable shop on the West side of CLE that can handle valve adjustments to a 2000 Katana?
  14. Also - For a Katana this thing looks pretty goddamn good from behind IMHO.
  15. Fuck yeah I can't wait until you get to open it up for the first time. It's not to be believed.
  16. Feels good man. Pics that still remain online are terrible, but. GFlem is now the proud owner of a 2000 Suzuki Katana 750. 27k miles. Within the last year it's gotten new: spark, clutch lines, brake pads, K&N air filters, stage III jet kit, full yosh exhaust, chain, sprockets, rear tire, LED taillights, and a bunch of new scrapes from the kid who owned it, lol: Note harlequin paint-job. Looks pretty sharp in person. Not my style, and since the fairings are damaged I'm going to be painting over it, but for now it looks as sharp as a $1500 bike can look lol. Did I get ripped off?
  17. You can buy kits to convert to RWD if you're going to swap in from the Nissan family (RB26DETT, etc). waste of money IMHO. That sucks, though. When my dad and I rented Harleys up in NH, he got a 2011 Hertiage Softail. Loved it. I had the Street Glide... I figure I got the best part of that deal.
  18. Over near Willoughby there are some decent side-roads. It's not speed-demon country, but Chagrin River road/Eagle Road and all the intermediary roads in that stretch going from Mayfield Heights up to Willoughby are nice! Very pretty greenery, especially with fall coming up. That would be my recommendation.
  19. I actually REALLY enjoyed them. For the ride we took they were perfect for the job. We were going slow, too... my dad hasn't been on a substantial ride for something like 17 years so I wasn't about to push the pace with him. Speed limit.
  20. Sup guys. Just got back yesterday from a week up at The Wiers, about two weeks before the Wiers Ride-In. My aunt owns a lodge up that way, and my folks and I drove up Thursday last. Anyway, my dad and I rented... Harleys. Which I was a bit conflicted about at first TBH. I was at least hoping for a Buell, but no such luck. Turned out just fine though and I have a new appreciation for this particular machine: 2011 Street Glide "FLHX." Whatever that means. But it was pretty nicely appointed... Harmon Kardon speaker system with AUX inputs (not used), cruise control (not used), EFI (abused), Independent Anti-Lock brakes (used once), and a whole bunch of other bullshit on it. Pleasantly light clutch and even though the floorboards numbed the shit out of my feet within 20 minutes from a slight but constant vibration it was a very comfortable ride over 200 miles of: and: And lastly It was awesome.
