  1. Interested... couple questions first. Where did the frame crack, and who fixed it? What does it need fixed yet? just the battery and fork seals?
  2. Those are the only two I have on photobucket.
  3. I will drive a ways to meet someone halfway, if it's too far.
  4. lol near west side of Cleveland. I personally am located near Madison and Victoria, near the 150th exit off 90.
  5. Pics will be provided when I am home from work... let us just say that this bike actually and unironically LBTS.
  6. Good afternoon, guys n gals. I'm looking to part ways with my V65. My dream bike for many years... got in while the deal was under $1000.00... it performed like a bike that cost less than $1000.00 lol. I'm asking for half of that. The bike is currently NOT RUNNING - this is why the price is so low. It needs an electrical system refresher (the reason why it's grounded), fork seals, brake pads, a rear master cylinder, and a side-cover if you can find one. The rear monoshock is also blown out ('cuz I'm fat lol) but I have a replacement ready to go. Also, in my frustration with the bike, I lost the key when it broke down. No idea where that is. But you'd need to get one cut eventually. However, for the good news: this Sabre has about 35k miles on it, and a clean title. The frame is straight, the transmission is strong, the clutch needs no work. No rips in the upholstery either. The engine was working marvelously before the electrical gremlin bit me, doing good work to catch me up to a squid in Timberlands on an R6 who was doing clutch-ups in traffic, so that I could shake my giant helmet disapprovingly at him. Good Honda! This is really for someone with a lot of patience and a knack for making custom parts work, or for someone with a Sabre who could use a lot of spare parts and a good engine. I have an aftermarket Rifle fairing that will be included. I would prefer to divest myself of this thing all at once, because I don't have any use for a full motorcycle in my garage right now... half a motorcycle would be even worse. Anyone interested, or know anyone who would be interested?
  7. So... Weak spark, since he replaced the battery and sparkplugs.. Frayed sparkplug wires, bad terminals, fuse problems? How difficult would a weak spark problem be to fix?
  8. Fine advice lol. Coshocton is on the other side of the state from me... no worries.
  9. http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/3064180678.html I had bought this bike a few months ago as a starter bike for myself. I had gone out got my temps for it then things started going wrong. I am in no way a bike expert but I do know that it runs, and runs good. Rides smooth and good and shifts good too. The only problem is keeping it running. It will not stay running for very long, and after a few times of trying to start it it wont start for a while. I had bought brand new plugs for it and a new battery cause thats about all I knew about. I am done with it and sticking to my car now. the price for the bike is firm. 500 cash is more than reasonable for a running bike. I do have a brand new helmet and new jacket that if interested those each are 100 dollars. the first one with cash in hand its theirs. you must pick it up. I will only accept one trade and that are some nice rims for my 2003 mustang gt. but im leaning more towards the 500 cash Sounds like it's flooding out... junky carbs?
  10. To clarify - I guess the problem is not so much the cost. The problem is that any parts I find, for the most part, are 1984 vintage. So there's nothing to guarantee that once I fix something, it's not going to blow on me a week later. I mean... Honda certainly isn't manufacturing any new wiring harnesses for my ride, unfortunately. I know that a master cylinder is a master cylinder, and there's always aftermarket for suspensions and such... but I lost a side-cover... do you know how stinking expensive that shit is!?!?
  11. Progressive instrumentation death (gear indicator/speedo/instrument lights/tach) followed by shutdown at speed, no response to compression/"pop" starts while I was trying not to crash it, char marks on the main starter fuse leading from the engine case... once I see melted, blackened plastic, I think electrical
  12. Yeah, they might be the ugliest firearms ever made. That being said, I've seen torture tests of these things that are literally insane... plugging the barrel completely full of packed mud and clearing the bore by firing hot-loaded rounds through it, completely reliable. Another thing - they are not actually made of pot metal. They're made of Zamak, which is an alloy of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper. Much higher manufacturing standard than pot metal which has loose tolerances. They're cheap, ugly firearms that will go bang when you need them to. The carbines, especially, are good shooters.
  13. Clear and locked in the tail. Another reason to get the key cut, lol.
  14. Word. I spent a lot of time on youtube watching the old gixxerkart videos. Looks scary and that's a level of engineering that I'm 100% not capable of pulling off... I don't even have basic fabrication abilities, and since the V65 is shaft-driven I'd have to do some serious work to make that possible in a RR configuration... don't want to think about how much work would be involved in putting the engine up front. I'm a little big for gokarts, anyway, physically. The thing would look like an Ariel Atom by the time I was done with it.
  15. Go kart... 110HP... 80 ft/lbs... IT... COULD... WORK!!!!
  16. Same thing happened to my wife when she was in her Dodge Stratus. Turned left on red into the path of an immaculate, brand-spanking-new Jaguar XF, owned by a lawyer. He had hit the gas to beat the light, and he hit her so hard that he shattered the gear shift lever into multiple pieces inside the car and broke her key off in the ignition. Both were cited as offsetting incidents. If the light had been yellow, my wife would have been at fault, but since the light had turned red the lawyer was also at fault, and the penalties kind of offset... she wasn't cited, but he got the ticket for reckless operation since he was doing 45 in a 25.
  17. Hi, guys. I've got a dilemma on my hands, and I wanted to address cooler and wiser heads (UNFORTUNATELY THEY WERE ALL BUSY SO I'M POSTING HERE HAHA). Sorry. Anyway, I have a V65 Sabre in terrible, non-running shape. As of my last estimate, it needs: New rear master cylinder, brake pads all around, front fork seals, new rear monoshock mounted, and... wait for it... most likely a complete electrical rebuild. Of course, after sitting for two years, it needs the carbs cleaned and seals replaced. Plus I need to get a key made for it because it disappeared. So. I'm thinking either selling it to someone for parts or just letting it go to salvage. I don't want a half-torn-apart 600-lb motorcycle taking up space in my garage, so, in my situation... what would you do? Salvage yard and get it weighed out? Put it up on craigslist for $300 so some backyard savant can pull the engine (which is still excellent btw)? Get it fixed? I'm just stuck. It's sat for almost two years now. This was my dream bike for a long time but it needs to be gone now. I'm going through some pretty drastic life changes and I need to get a fresh start.
  18. Maybe give these guys a look: http://www.clevelandcyclewerks.com/ Local boys up here managed to churn out some pretty awesome-looking machines. Low-displacement, but they MSRP for less than 4k new, and they fit some taller riders.
  19. barrel has to be 16.5", overall length must be greater than 26". What's damning this guy is that he put it in a very short chassis without a buttstock. You can't convert a rifle to a pistol like that - it becomes an AOW (any other weapon) and requires tax stamps and BATFE registration. I've seen genuine rifles inserted into "toy" rifle stocks - usually high-end airsoft polymer jobs - that are perfectly legal. The Ruger 10/22 into P90 stock comes to mind:
  20. I got a Taurus PT99 used for $350, with 3 mags. It's basically the same thing as a 92F, with adjustable sights and a different badge on the side. Safety's also in a better spot. You can get a brand new one for $450, in 9mm or .40 S&W.
  21. Lucky there wasn't a shot cup or wad in that cartridge, still. Would have killed him anyway.
  22. *learning the ropes* *gixxah 600* *riding without eyepro* *cannot figure out punctuation* *mad at everyone* *did not realize that WISHING SOMEONE DEATH was a THREAT* I'm sure you behaved well at the traffic stop, and should be exonerated promptly.
  23. qft, though you usually don't have to take the rotation and curvature of the earth into account when you're in slingshot range lol
