  1. Hey, man -- caught up with you on Reddit. Sorry about your bike, bro -- I haven't seen many of them out at all since I've been looking. Still am looking, though.
  2. Scorpion EXO-1000 helmet Textile/Mesh armored jacket, with a hoodie underneath for cold days. The armor, as far as I'm concerned, isn't removable. Spine, shoulders, elbows. Padded/reinforced gloves. Steel-toed boots. No leg armor yet so that's next on the list, after I replace my helmet, which is like six years old now and pretty beat. Hard to find pants my size tho... anyone know of armor I can wear like baseball sliding shorts, under normal jeans?
  3. I've never liked the nose of my current bike... the post-refresh Katana always looks so stubby and 'tarded. Like someone carved the first prototype out of butter and left it in the sun too long, so the sharp nose melted off and formed the fender over the front wheel...
  4. Yeah, they lost a bunch of people. The guy who's all tatted up is still there. What they did is hire all the crusty old bastards who had hardons for cowboy action and talked shit to the customers. I had a nightmare experience at Stonewall a few years back. I was having fun with my buddy's AR, nothing severe - shot every 1-2 seconds maybe. I put the rifle down, turn around, look down for a second, and I see a laser on my chest. Immediately freak out and duck because I think someone has a crimson trace and is about to kill me. Range officer is standing behind a plate glass window with a laser pointer, gesturing to me to come out front. He tried to give me a talking-to about having more than one round in the rifle at once... like I'm supposed to drop the mag and put one round in at a time... Interrupted him and let him have it full-force for about a minute straight about how fucking stupid it is to put a laser on someone's chest at a gun range, especially being as this was that summer when there were 4-5 gun range shootings right in a row. Was fucking pissed. Grabbed my card and my ID back from him, stormed out, and never went back.
  5. Sherwin is my range of choice... owner's wife is pretty hawt and carries a nice 1911. She's a real ballbuster though so come with thick skin. have not checked out B&T yet, but I hear good things about it. I'm going to be over there on Sunday if you care to join me.
  6. Wow, those prices are at least 50% higher than I've ever seen anywhere else. That is retarded to buy at that price. Do people actually buy stuff from that website?
  7. Nah, they've released those already. Fusion ST, though... maybe. Not coming to the US, unfortunately. Could you hear what kind of engine it had?
  8. I'd prefer they drop the new VFR1200 engine into the CB1100 chassis and call it a day... bring back the real Sabre please.
  9. I've got 30 Mb/s Cox cable. Love it.
  10. Oh, that's Christopher Evans. He barely qualifies as a journalist. He has a hard-on for slamming guns and gun owners.
  11. I really like the look of the Super Magna... 86-87... hhnnnggghhh
  12. The VFR is THE sport-touring bike... Unless you have a very practiced wrench hand you might grow to hate old Magna/Sabre ownership. The parts availability for those older bikes is not very reliable, because Honda made frequent changes to the lineup. Especially in terms of electronics. It was my experience that they'd only make a certain wiring harness for like, 3 years. After that you're out of luck.
  13. Jesus Christ almighty that is nuts, dude. 15k RPM, in a turn, with stone walls and people on all sides of you, ON ONE WHEEL.
  14. Us northeast Ohioans don't really have too much. Last Sunday, though, I did a little quickie ride, taking Chagrin River Rd from Willoughby to Solon. Took about half an hour, and there were some stop signs... but man there is some pretty country out that way. Came around a bend to see a steep forested hill on my right, a rocky stream to my left, sunlight filtering down through overhanging trees. Gorgeous.
  15. Might be a good place to plug this site - cycle-ergo.com You can see how, approximately, one would sit on any particular bike. Seems about accurate based on the bikes that I've owned thus far...
  16. For the record I'd be way more interested in this if it had a nice, strong turbodiesel engine. Liter and a half, maybe 80-100 HP, hundred fifty ft-lbs torque? It'd probably score a hundred miles a gallon, and you could run it on fryer oil from a Chinese restaurant. I'm still not a believer in electric-only powertrains. We have brown-outs as it is because of stress on the electrical grid. No way we're going to be able to support it when every jagoff in the nation decides that electric is the way to go.
  17. Battery life, probably. Easier to put down a hydralic stand rather than constantly spinning a pair of heavy gyros.
  18. You deal with it the same way you deal with anything else involving a 17 year old. Laugh and wait for him to change his mind. No way he affords an $8k motorcycle and the accompanying insurance. He can talk a big game, but at the end of the day, if he's still living with your girlfriend, she can veto the decision. Her garage, her rules.
  19. Aaahahaha leathemanmutitool... Ancutheshotgunslug!!!!!
  20. man i REALLY want to head out for this. I'm picking the Katana up from Pauly tomorrow morning. Um... how close are we going to be to Coshocton...?
