  1. Seen it several times before.....even worse to see it from a brother firefighter.....RIP......May the Lord Bless you and Keep you.
  2. Dicks Last resort is entertaining, but the food sucks. Play 3 card poker at the party pit in Excalibur, chicks dancing on the tables with about as little clothing as they can get on.
  3. Been there several times, ate at high end places, and dumps. I go to play and drink, a lot. MGM is not too far south, I have been a fixture there for years until Monte Carlo started offering me free suites and free meals. MGM has a lot of nice clubs, Tabu and Studio 54 in particular. Higher end food in the resort, but there are some good cheap places too. The pool at MGM is one of the new hot spots...wet republic. Rehab as said before is cool, but a pricey ticket for a guy. As for any of the clubs in Vegas, they will let the ladies in for free, but almost every one charges for guys to get in. Do not buy the club passes from the guys on the street. If you look around in the respective casinos, the same passes will be laying around in stacks for free. Those people go in and steal stacks and sell them to unsuspecting Vegas noobs as VIP passes. Diablos cantina in front of Monte Carlo is a good spot for happy hour. Ellis Island is a great place to eat, and cheap. Double Down saloon is a good dive. All depends on what you want to do when you get there. PM me if you need info, I have not paid for a room in the last 8-9 years.
  4. I usually do picnic shoulder or pork butt to do pulled pork. For it to be done properly it takes 1 1/2 hours per pound. The bone in works the best, when it is done you can grab the bone and the meat just falls apart. I make my own rub, and there is no set recipe. Brown sugar is the base, paprika, cumin, salt pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper. The brown sugar caramelizes over the cooking process, and gives it a nice crust and crunch, not to mention a really nice smoke ring. Sauce can be added by the consumer, personally I believe if it is done right, it needs no sauce. I only use charcoal and wood chips, anything else is cheating. I have done tons of ribs, pulled pork, leg and thigh quarters, pork loins, turkey breast and whole chickens on mine, and it is the best way to prepare picnic food. Cherry and apple are what I use the most. Wal mart has mesquite pre packaged, and it is ok, just needs to soak a long time.
  5. Got passed by him at the gap a couple of years ago, he had a passenger on the back and pulling a trailer. I hang my head in shame
  6. I have been in public safety for 20 plus years, and yet, I stood and stared in astonishment at the debris field left behind by the bike. I agree that the speed had to be high based on the amount of damage to the van and the bike. He was an accomplished dirt rider, but that doesn't always translate to the street. I also agree...18 years old on a liter bike is crazy. I am 40 and I don't want to touch one.
  7. Tyler was a good friend of my daughters boyfriend. will probably be tough on a lot of kids around here.
  8. Motorcyclist killed near Cambridge Airport Highway Patrol investigates head on crash AVC News 6/8/2010 The Cambridge Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash... according to reports, the accident occurred on State Route 660, near the Cambridge Municipal Airport just after 7 pm. A van being driven southbound by a Cambridge woman hit a northbound motorcycle, head on. The motorcyclist, 18 year old Tyler Mouer of Cambridge, was taken to Southeastern Med where he was pronounced dead. The 41 year old woman who was driving the van, along with her two 10 year old daughters were also taken to Southeastern Med for treatment. The woman is listed in fair condition, the children were treated and released. The crash remains under investigation by the State Highway Patrol.
  9. Don't know a lot of the details, but responded to a bike vs. van head on about an hour ago to set up the LZ for Med Fight. I do not know the circumstances surrounding the crash, and this is pure speculation. As close as the point of impact was to the center line, it looks as if the van was pulling across the lane and the rider hit at the drivers A post. Heavy damage to the van, rider lost his helmet at impact. There was a head/shoulder print in the windshield where the rider hit. His bike, Yamaha R1 was scattered in a debris field about 50 yards long. Bike was completely destroyed, and in several pieces. The front wheel was in pieces, tire dismounted, and center/ rotors / calipers all about 30 yards apart. I did not see the rider, but the guys on the heavy rescue said he was intubated, and unconscious, and the condition was grave. Do not know who he was, but will advise as soon as I know anything. Say a prayer.
