  1. I forgot to mention that newer hyandai's arent half bad. I'd probably stick that betwen toyota and nissan. Just make sure the factory 100,00 mile warrenty is still effective
  2. any subaru toyota camry, avalon, matrix/pontiac vibe (same thing) nissan altima, maxima I would almost suggest an accord, but people want too much for honda's when you can get a toyota at the same quality level and nearly the same fuel milage for less cost. Plus hondas are completely bland. I'm a bit biased - I've never owned a fwd in my life, and generally have been a toyota nazi truck owner. I just picked up a WRX and love it, its such a huge improvement over fwd, but has far less traction issues in bad weather than rwd. I guess my top picks would start with the AWDs, subaru impreza or forrester, or a matrix/vibe. Next tier would be the toyotas, then the nissans.

    Snow

I was about to start bitching about not seeing any snow, then i actually went to the window and looked outside
  5. This is confirmed, I found this link in a PM that came from him, that he did not send me. If you click a link and end up at the login screen PLEASE make sure that you are actually at Columbusracing.com and not a tripod site or ANYTHING else. Remember, always be sure of where you use your password, especially if you use the same password for other sites, thats something that you don't want to get out. If anyone has fallen for this, please change your password IMMEDIATELY so that nothing bad can come from this. We are working on figuring out where this is coming from. -Mike
  6. I was upside down on my Tundra by about 5 grand, and I was trying to knock my payments down from the original $385 a month to about $200 a month. I lucked into my 03 WRX at $4500 plus my negative equity and ended up right at my mark. I've decided that it will be a LONG time before I pay more than 10 grand for a car, its simply not worth it to me to have that large of payments. I would say that if you HAVE to get out of the car, do what I did and get something cheap to offset the negative equity and drop the payments to something more manageable.
  7. The ONLY time my XD ever jammed was when I was teaching a friend to shoot, and he was limp wristing it. I told him to hang on a bit tighter, and never another problem. I'm probably getting close to the 1,000 round mark through it. To get CCW in Ohio you have to have gone through a certified class. I BELIEVE that Military training counts, but I would suggest talking to your county Sheriff to be sure.
  8. We had a single snow day when I went there, but that was 4 years ago
  9. Since when were Kimberly's $1,000+? I've always seen them NIB around the $700 range for a fullsize (assuming thats what you were talking about).
  10. Audi's certainly don't hold up as well, and I believe parts are more costly. '02-'03 WRX's don't like to be power shifted into second, and in sub freezing weather can have a gas leak. Mine has 95,000 miles and the previous owner didnt get the leak fixed, so when I have it torn apart for a clutch this week I'm going to fix the leak as well. I guess thats a pretty common problem. Beyond that, I've had my wrx for a week now and it's a blast to drive, it's a shame that I'll have the tranny out of it when the snow hits, almost makes me want to hold off on taking it apart for a few days.
  11. Jason, it's just an OEM style. I don't need anything fancy, as I've got a lot of things that require my money before any kinds of mods.
  12. +1 I worked for him for about 6 months. Great guy, great prices, great talent. His shop is located on Grant between 11th and Chittenden, stop by and give him an idea for what you want. BTW, his specialty, at least when I worked there, was motorcycles.
  13. http://www.truckinohio.net/filedump/mike/chloroform.jpg and yes, that is me he is quoting in his sig
  14. And this is why so many people get fed up with this board. How about you guys cut him some slack?
  15. Yes sir, thanks. I would also like to say that dealing with the guys at Tansky reminded me of why I think everyone at that dealership is an idiot.
  16. I picked it up monday, there's a thread in the passing lane about it. I work this weekend, but next weekend if you want to hang out while I'm putting a clutch into the car you are welcome to stop by the house. Shoot me a pm and I'll give you directions.
  17. Now, if we are talking more natural disaster/zombie attack scenario where the roads aren't safe, I would go with either an ATV or an offroad style vehicle, such as my Samurai, and head for the hills.
  18. Yeah, take 161 towards New Albany. Take the Route 62 exit, and go right. You will come to a light, its on the corner on the right.
  19. I meant to mention, Eagle's is cash or check only, they don't take the card
  20. Could the cold have anything to do with the extra repairs?
  21. who is down for some pizza tomorrow, say at 7?
  22. how is she going to get a massage if she is required to lay on her back all the time? would she be allowed to flop over long enough for that?
  23. Yeah, I did love that thing, best vehicle I have ever owned hands down. Hated the payments and gas usage though. I estimate that I will save around $300 a month from trading it on this car, even with me being upside down on the truck as bad as I am.
