  1. I've seen nothing about when it might happen. Right now it's just a plan and a threat to make it actually happen. What the heck, maybe they'll do it just for fun, to prove a point. I'll check Google+. I got links to the Google peeps there, and maybe they are talking about it.
  2. Again... in case you missed it. We will soon be 6000 strong. 6000 Ohio Riders! woot 5,994 and counting... edit: geez, Mar 9 and we already shot past 7000...
  3. In case you missed it, some people don't like the SOPA law up for vote in congress. Google, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Wiki, and other techie websites are planning a protest blackout. Their plan is to blackout, all on the same day, with an anti-SOPA message and plea to contact congress in opposition to passage of the law. This would actually put quite a slam on the internet. From your favorite news source, Fox News... Will Google, Amazon, and Facebook Black Out the Net? Now if a few ISPs and major routers shut down, I'd be impressed. But most ISPS are folding up and supporting the SOPA.reference what happened to GoDaddy yesterday... edit: Google, Facebook, Twitter, Zynga, eBay, Mozilla, Yahoo, AOL, and LinkedIn
  4. Correct. Business agreements are based on honesty and intent. Or should be, anyway. Even if it's a simple verbal agreement and/or handshake. Civil courts take business transactions seriously, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is illegal behavior. Certainly bad behavior. There are also specific laws against price gouging due to limited availability, or even perceived limited availability of product. Might as well just drop an email on the state attorney generals office.
  5. Real motorcycle tires have a larger contact patch when leaning, compared to when straight up vertical. I don't think very many do that. Or maybe that not many do it very well. Yeah, I'd like to try a pair of high mileage tires, someday.
  6. Another like that happened down in Florida, and the home owner got sued. Disregard that all of those four underage kids were armed with 9mm... durrrr
  7. just weld/epoxy the engine to the frame and be done with it...
  8. IMHO...frog march = the way a person hops to move when the legs are shackled together with chain and locks.. Merriam-Webster says frog march = to seize from behind roughly and forcefully propel forward
  9. This from a website: 1) You can tell by the stitching on the pinky of the gloves. Stitching will go through the Alpinestar logo. 2) Inside of the gloves, the tags will be simple, where as the official one will have other shit written. 3) leather is also really low quality + no vents in between the fingers and really bad printing on them 4) no Kevlar lining. But yeah, people are talking about the Kevlar lining being missing... I'd guess if it was in the $40-100 range, probably not the real thing.
  10. Did it ship in a Chinese box or envelope? Find some real ones and compare. Look at the number of stitches per inch, type of lining, and thickness of leather, and see if it's the same.
  11. You can get fleece, flannel, or 100gm Thinsulate lined jeans. 24-35 bucks usually. Old Navy, Cabela's, Sportsman's Guide, Carhartt, LL Bean, Eddie Bauer, Berne, Gap, Grizzly Ikes, Land's End, Prana, Ralph Lauren, etc. Carhartt, Levis, Dickies and Wranglers make them. I've been meaning to try them myself, just never got around to it. I mostly just go for really good gloves and boots, lightweight thermal, sweater, and a leather jacket. And I'll bring along a thin balaclava for the face, just in case I want it. And you know I'll ride any time there is no salt, and sometimes when there is. Although that one 150 mile trip at 34F did chill me to the bone in my legs... It was 70F when I rode back... riding past the snow and still frozen ponds... Carbela's ladie's fleece lined - sold out
  12. trained attack pigs on crack... *shudder* or... serious swine on steroids...
  13. Crap... I used to live in Kansas. Good thing I wasn't old enough to remember much.
  14. Good question. I've seen/heard of it done, but I'd think it would be more trouble than it is worth. Better question, where did the radiators relocate? Used to be on the sides... That must be them down low. That's a big change also.
  15. www.rc51.info http://www.rc51.info/index.php?page=service edit: I'll scan them to check for viruses in a bit...
  16. Street fighter might be hard to do, but a bit of a rat bike would work. But then I found this concept of a Hawk/RC51 chop job: @ RC51 concept drawings http://www.globalmotorbikes.com/forums/showthread.php?8576-RC51-Concept-drawings Rat = remove everything that doesn't go or stop. Weird out what is left. Modify removed parts and put back on, or replace with strange new stuff.
  17. How many people caught the news that leaked out of Great Britain? That some of the last troops out of Iraq diverted to the Jordan-Syrian border. Training troops and insurgents, I think. But also might have been the air controllers and equipment, setting up for air control operations at the two Jordanian military air bases. Why not, the British and French have troops there and in Turkey doing the same thing. This news is claimed to be suppressed in American news sources.
  18. Backintheday when the clutch cable would break often, it was worth buying two and routing them both together. That way the spare is ready to go if needed. Actually, I still do that. Errr, bought two, haven't routed the extra one yet. At least I have a spare somewhere around here.
  19. Still got a Pioneer set up. I did get rid of a Fisher tube receiver that I fixed up. It was so old it didn't have a model number or type. All it said on it was "The Fisher". Was sad to let go of it. Tube amps sound nice. But a small tube type add on box can get that sound back anyway. edit: you want old? My garage rig was a Lazarus Lloyd amp I saved from the alley on campus...
  20. In other news, rumor is that the last troops to leave Iraq, diverted to the border of Jordan and Syria. Where they are quietly doing what they do best.
  21. If you google up those layaway payoffs, it turns out it started as part of the Secret Santa program. Story is that ordinary people started doing the same thing.
  22. I'm baack.... challenged to find "evidence" on the movement of WMD from Iraq to Syria, I'm going to drop it all right here: Most of this relates to the nuclear WMD. There never was a question about biological and chemical WMD moving around.
