Iran a few weeks ago said they were sending their submarines. But then somebody pointed out that would be a one way trip, not enough fuel to get back or do much of anything when here. What? Going to pull in to Boston and fill it up? Don't think so. I'd like to see one of their tiny frigates squeezed between two nuke carriers...

Theaters, concerts, museums. All places photography often is forbidden.

Yeah, terrorism laws. I would advise not taking pictures in bus stations in Florida and California. Nor train stations in California. Nor in some places around airports. And don't ever take a picture of a train on a track where some one can catch you. Not even wanting to take a picture of a tall building on a bad day. And that's all USA. Terror

ok, here's the motorcycle demands. We're the 1% on the roads. We want everyone else on the roads to bend to our will. No specifics, no plan, just give us all the roads and free fuel and get out of our way. Yeah, that will work... oh, and a new motorcycle or two, and a nice garage, and free license plates and insurance, and extra special free medical for riders. And we don't really want to work, so make this our jobs and send us a paycheck. Yes, this is sarcasm, I say that because sometimes people think I'm serious. edit: There are reasonable demands for motorcycles. Like having motorcycle parking, access to parking garages, reduction in taxes of motorcycles based on less use and less impact on roadways. Incentives to own and ride motorcycles to lessen traffic congestion. Education of motorists, to lessen car vs motorcycle accidents. Lots of stuff.

It's probably a case of these states have lost control. So many have immigrated illegally that there is no turning back. The only way out is to give up and move on. If and when they ever solve the problems they could never solve, they could reverse decisions like this for education. But don't count on it, it's probably going to be that way until there's a radical change in political power in those areas. Which would be approximately never.

So, Columbus is 8am on Monday. Columbus Day, and many people are off work. Anyone want to ride a batch of bikes through it and give our demands? Not really serious, I don't have any demands... Btw, I also have no idea where any of this occupy stuff is going. It may not be what we think, and we may not like it at all. And it could change to something else at any time. Who knows. I'm beginning to think it might turn out to be not so good.

Yes, it said three states are now doing this. Argh.

Our turn; Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Youngstown, Dayton, Toledo, Akron. http://www.facebook.com/OccupyColumbus?sk=wall http://www.facebook.com/OccupyCincinnati?sk=wall http://www.facebook.com/pages/Occupy-Cleveland/154591897968793 http://www.facebook.com/pages/Occupy-Wall-Street-Youngstown/146659368764174?ref=ts&sk=wall http://www.facebook.com/occupydayton?sk=wall http://www.facebook.com/occupytoledo?ref=ts&sk=wall http://www.facebook.com/pages/Occupy-Akron/276660419022999?sk=wall There is no Occupy Coshocton yet:D There is also a FaceBook for Occupy OSU, Athens, Mansfield, and Marion. But are small and almost no info. I also see that there are fake "Occupy" websites appearing for various reasons... let the fun begin. http://occupywallst.org/ claims a thousand US cities by the end of the month and several foreign countries. http://nycga.cc/ Official website of the Occupy Wall Street - New York - General Assembly

Attention brings thought. Decent articles outside mainstream media are starting to appear. People want to know what exactly is going on... not that anyone in particular actually knows the answer to that yet. Like this web article picked up from the Google+ streams. Rushkoff vs. the 1% http://hilobrow.com/2011/10/07/rushkoff-vs-the-1/edit: oh, and some vets have showed up at Wall Street. Some are young and current or just out of service, but it appears the majority of them might be World War II vets. http://hilobrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/tumblr_lsob11hjc91r25y9yo1_500.jpg

heh, 919 here. Sort of your bike and 3 or 4 gen down the road. Welcome.

Not only USB sticks, but IC chips now have to be validated as clean for secure. Apparently components have been bought overseas, and not all are clean. And I mean dirty in a way that can't be found until called upon to cause trouble. This is a big worry now in development and construction. It's quality work, and almost impossible to find the alterations. The drones have been flying with UNENCRYPTED data streams. Which have already been intercepted and used by opponents on the battlefield. Everything is now changing over to encrypted data streams. Most of my info comes from Aviation Week. I haven't seen the info on the drone keystroke infections yet. All attacks of all types are from source "unknown". It's still currently impossible to tell if it's China or Russia or other. And impossible to tell if it's Russia pretending to be China or vice versa. Or pretending to be pretending etc, you get the picture. And even if somebody did finally decide who did what, they won't tell us. edit: imho almost all computer infections contain a keylogger element or will soon if it's active.

yeep, just a bunch of kids, ...not...

Adoption services aren't meant to outlaw the sale of children, but instead to regulate it. Apparently the average citizen isn't capable of making a good decision.

A dozen or so Unions have joined across the country. There will probably be more groups joining. Looks like the bus driver lawsuit to prevent participation failed. Activity should taper off as it gets colder. If short demonstrations continue through the Winter, I'd suspect something major starting up early next year. Sort of amazing considering the average attention span. Must be some really pissed off people out there.

Yeah, and not mentioning the total disaster, the lack of snow fall in the Rockies, that feeds the necessary water that makes it downstream to Los Angeles and the SouthWest. Without fresh water, there is also a drastic reduction in food sources. I don't think we see it, since it has rained so much here in Ohio. We're turning into a tropical zone around here. Slowly.

97 million people currently under drought conditions: Global Drought Monitor 560,000 died for lack of water in Ethiopia, Sudan and Mozambique. World Mapper: Killed by Drought Completely relevant. Fresh water comes from rainfall. Everyone is running out of it, either by changing weather patterns or size of population (or increase in consumption per capita).

Yes, getting the news from the Google+ peeps on the West coast. RIP It's up on the Apple homepage. http://www.apple.com/

Haven't I said that the future will see wars over fresh water? There always has been wars over water. Oil, food, fresh water and fish. Those supplies will all peak in our lifetimes. Four crucial resources that may run out in your lifetime Okinawa (Ryukyu Islands) ran out of water once a year. They turned it off every other day. Quite a pain in the butt. I think they built a larger reservoir and a desalination plant.

This year's DELLs have PS2 ports for both mouse and keyboard. And lots of USB ports. More than before. edit: oh, and the parallel port is now gone.

Looks like it's what increased the national debt, not who. WW1 stock market crash WW2 Cold War 9/11 with recession oddly, the Vietnam War was either free, or we made money on that one

Rider saved by good samaritans from under 3700lb burning car
ReconRat replied to Das Borgen's topic in Daily Ride
Here, watch the long version if you have the time. 14 minutes. And I'm thinking that the car's radiator helped suppress the fire. You can see it steam off and the fire lessens for a minute. Just long enough to give him a chance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEDQItVCxbw&feature=related The girl that gets down on the ground and looks is the one with the guts. I've been there and done that, and no one wants to do that, to get down and look. edit: And after having been at the scene of at least one of these, I'll say that everyone there is in shock. It gets really crazy, more time is spent keeping people from doing the wrong thing than the right thing. Sort of a decision by committee of those that haven't any idea what to do. But they want to help, that is what counts. And they got it done. -
Media did cover the arrests on the Brooklyn Bridge. 700 of about 3000 protesters got arrested for being on the roadway instead of the pedestrian walkway. Some of them said they were tricked onto the roadway when they followed NYPD walking in front of them. Or NYPD was blocking the pedestrian walkway ahead of them. Whatever, they didn't leave when given the chance and got arrested. There's been a couple of places where news on the internet has been edited after published, to say something different. That would be a Spin Doctor. They still exist. (Also known as a ninja edit.)
