Your phone can be tracked for similar info. Even an app you might have installed, may be doing so. Only don't know which vehicle you're in. But would know approximately which bar, gas station, or restaurant you stopped at. Sort of like FaceBook, heh? I've noticed in Florida, that if you have a phone installed in your car, it can ring and give an advertisement for something nearby, while driving down the road.

James Ruma 32 - News says in critical condition as of today, 23rd. He was riding double with his wife, and pulled over to retrieve a backpack that fell off. He was hit while walking on the side of the road. The road closed was I-270 near New Halls Ferry Road. It is possible that the video is showing the road closed for the accident. From these news articles: Massive motorcycle ride prompts second thoughts by police http://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/stltoday.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/b/62/b62fc1c6-e592-11e0-884e-0019bb30f31a/4e7c1c63a0a9a.preview-300.jpg Also in the news was a bike that had hit the back end of a car that had slowed in the right lane. Tossed about 15 feet, but was ok. There is a change in Time as perceived by the external observer, but the person moving at the speed of light doesn't see that since they are changed by that as well. So they see things subjective to what they are. Both Time and Space change, but the person moving would just see a normal event, not realizing that the outside observer would see both the person and the action as being so slow as to appear not moving at all. Or the old thing about what happens if you shine a flashlight forward. The outside observer would see the light moving incredibly slow, but the person inside would just see a normal flashlight. The point is, when approaching the speed of light, the movement goes down to zero, even though the person inside sees normal events. At that point Time would be close to zero as well, and Space would be stretched out to near infinity, like what happens when falling into a black hole. This is still all assumed perceptions, since no one has ever tried it. edit: that's the best I can do, if it's wrong, don't blame me, I'm not a freakin' physicist. edit2: freakin' physicists can be wrong too, so there...

I do remember that light was predicted to travel faster than light under special circumstances. It would be in deep space and after light had traveled great distances. Interaction with other particles of "empty space" would set up and propagate a wave resonance in the light as it moved along. Basically some of the photons would "surf" the wave, and move faster than light. Impossible to observe or measure here on Earth. Or is this a peek at what happens?

Did anyone else get the impression of "trapped rats" scurrying around?

wow, just wow leave me out of that

I only see one page here. No wait, too soon. I are out of order. Sorry. Welcome.

Yeah, cooling just the heads, to just barely be able to meet the emission requirements in Europe and USA. Leaving the cylinders looking traditional. Heard that some of the radiators will be hidden in small lower fairings. Wonder if that makes it look like a scooter...

Yeah, what Ross said. Kill switch. Bikes got them, cars don't. I've had stuck throttles on cars and bikes both. But, not a big fan of fly by wire yet. The differences in aviation vs automotive make me want to wait till they are doing it better. On the other hand, German automotive standards for fly by wire are a lot like aviation standards. Besides, real motorcycle riders use fly-by-light fiber optics control (no it doesn't exist yet).

Wimps. Just have the passenger grab and pull it by the handlebars, along side the car. Yeah. Done that. Doesn't work too well. But didn't fall down.

Bagster tank covers and snap-in tank bags. Popular in Europe and the West Coast. Not many seen around Ohio. http://www.rideaddict.com/aboutbagster.aspx Denali LED headlights. equivalent of a standard 55W headlamp output at less than 10watts (0.75amp) each. Not meant for replacing headlight, just as auxiliaries. I have a D1 kit, but will probably go for a D2 kit. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productlist/790/ Ventura luggage rack system. Also West Coast and not much seen in Ohio. http://www.ventura-bike.com/distributors.aspx?regionid=North%20America

I was just there. They still have a bunch. Dunno about how many of which sizes. And I was looking at all the blue ones, I didn't move over to see what they had in red ones. Mediums and large will go fast. And there will be some on line for a while also.

The Scorpion closeouts are a really good deal. I picked up an EX-400 a couple of years ago for a spare helmet, it was 49 bucks. Considering a replacement shield or interior padding might be 30 bucks or more, it's a bargain for parts alone.

I did find this link on SouthBayRiders. A large MC group on the West coast. http://www.goprohacks.blogspot.com/p/how-to-restore-gopro-mp4-corrupted-or.html The sos function sounds interesting, but the rest of it sounds like a pitb. I'm googling gopro video file corrupted http://goprouser.freeforums.org/corrupt-video-file-restore-repair-utility-t1013.html

rats, was hoping it was just the player. These aren't fake SD cards from ebay, are they? They are usually something smaller labeled as something bigger. That would be bad. Small stuff would work and large stuff would not. I guess I don't know, I've not had anything like that with the GoPro or any other SD video camera.

Why it crashed: Here's a pic right before the crash. The left elevator is damaged. It has a piece or two missing. Trim tabs torn off, I think. When it made it's last pylon turn, it would have rolled out and to the right. When it pulled up and away from race traffic, it would have rolled right again. It might have come close to stalling, and when heading down again, it wanted to roll to the right again, when it tried to pull out. In some of the videos, you can see exactly that, a series of rolls to the right. The only way to have saved it, was to neutral the elevator, when the nose was pointed above the horizon. Not use the elevator, and fly it crippled back to a landing. There wasn't enough time to think it through.

Files not lost. The windows media player is probably not compatible. Video files have many different codecs that make them viewable. Try downloading Classic321 player and using it instead. Or figure out which codec is needed, and load it. Easiest way is to download and install a package of common codecs. Basically that is what comes with the Classic 321 player. Careful, there's lots of fake or bad download websites. I'm using the Classic 321 and GoPro videos play ok with it (All videos do, except some of the unusual codecs from Japan.) Sourceforge Afterdawn website (a great website for all things audio and video)

holy crap edit: here's a video from msnbc. You can see the engine bounce and shoot out toward the runway. Very lucky it didn't go the other way into the grandstands and people. Video: Plane crashes near grandstands at Reno air races.

Wondered how long it would be. I think I'd do compression check, valve adjust, plugs, fluids and brake pads. Inspect and R&R bits and pieces. Clean and paint. Looks like a Corbin saddle. What color/s? Thinking silver and two tone blue.

There's an argument on another forum about whether it was filmed using shutter speed sync or frame rate sync (or both) to produce the image of the blade steady in the pic. It was neither. The camera is turning with the blade. Mounted on the main shaft. Blade appears stationary. Everything else gets warped. edit: And did anyone notice it was flying upside down for a while?

I don't think the chain is supposed to go through there

I've had a couple shoot down the road in front of me. Never did figure out how it would do that... Wouldn't it shoot down the road behind me? Dunno
