  1. I'm pretty sure they mean the riveted master link, and not to use the clip on master link. On the track would be where you would use the clip type for fast change. But it would be safety wired in place. Some of our guys use a clip instead, but on rare occasions, those clips come off. Strength of the clip type is close, but riveted is stronger and more durable. My old bikes used clip master links, and I carried spares on the bike.
  2. I had one like that on a new tire two years ago. Picked it up in a corner. But mine leaked. Wasn't fixable. I wondered why I was skipping sideways like hitting tar snakes. It was roofing nails on the road...
  3. I confess I've wanted to try color changing paint. Never did though. I think it needs to be worked into something. Flames, tribal, something... This, but it won't be found in spray cans: KonFusionLC Liquid Crystal Chameleon Pearl Flake http://shop.thecoatingstore.com/images/KonFusion%20LC%20Cat%20Shot.jpg
  4. I would consider changing the red stripe to color changing. Sort of not so gaudy. Dunno. Whatever you do, you have to work with the red seat. Color Harmony Triadic is red/blue/yellow Complementary is red/green Analogous is red-violet/red/red-orange split complementary is blue-green/red/yellow-green http://www.tigercolor.com/color-lab/color-theory/color-harmonies.htm http://ecohomeresource.com/ColorWheel.jpg edit: made more difficult by the seat being a bit on the red-orange side, of course.
  5. Stolen motorcycle found in living room The typical; stolen motorcycle, busted ignition, fake ID, outstanding warrants for drug charges and burglary. Possibly not US citizen. The not so typical; hiding it in the living room...
  6. This is starting to look like a Desert Storm coalition... Aircraft are basing in Sardinia and two mainland Italian airbases, and one airbase in Spain. British aircraft also using Akrotiri in Cyprus. Communist Cyprus not happy. Italy offers all seven of their airbases for use. At least one airbase in Egypt was reported, but nothing further heard about it. Four Spanish F-18s arrived in Sardinia, plus one refueling aircraft and one maritime surveillance. United Arab Emirates aircraft arriving there on Sunday. Qatar aircraft expected, maybe Jordan and Morocco also. Iraq would join if they could. Eight Italian aircraft initially assigned (4 Tornados). Dozens of Italian combat aircraft relocated to Sicily airbase. Tornados, F-16s and EuroFighters. Six Danish F-16s arrive at Sigonella air base in Italy. Six Belgium F-16s will be ready on Monday. (They've flow here in Ohio.) edit: Add Norway F-16s. Canadian aircraft arrive, but aren't ready yet. Six F-18s. USA not talking, but leaks from command says 15 stealth aircraft active (3 B-2s). US Marine Harriers reported active with EA-18 Growlers. US has 42 F-16s at Aviano AFB in Italy. US has existing bases in Italy, Greece, Spain and Turkey. F-16s and F-15s reported active. Unknown number of British aircraft currently active. Typhoon and Tornado. One E3D surveillance aircraft. Unknown number of French aircraft active and leading the strikes. Lots of ships including a Spanish submarine. 4 British warships added. Hard to know for sure with ships. French aircraft carrier joins with Rafale and Super Etenard aircraft. 5 USN ships, but no carriers. US Marine assault ship Bataan with 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit sets sail from NC. Includes Tactical Air Control Squadron 22, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 28 and Fleet Surgical Team 8. USN amphibious assault ship Kearsarge ARG already there (26th MEU). Canadian warship arrives. One US attack submarine. One British attack submarine. British SAS special forces active in desert. edit: Lybia goes on anti-aircraft weapons buying spree. Syrian arms shipment intercepted in route to Lybia. Iranian arms shipment offloaded in Syria and transferred through Turkey intercepted in route to Hamas through Egypt.
  7. The Fuji is actually a very nice camera. I gave one of those to my Mom. Ummm, actually, I tend to collect cameras. I like this camera. I'll buy it Ben. Take it to work and give me a shout and I'll ride over.
  8. Everyone was a noob with temps at least once. I'm more worried about the ones with permanent temps or no license. edit: noobs are awesome...
  9. Libyan rebels asked France for help. France insisted and pushed it through the UN. USA gets involved for our amazing first strike and reconnaissance capabilities. (And all our wonderful unmanned aircraft.) Yes, Libya has oil, same as just about everywhere else. But if oil is so valuable, why did we literally give the best Iraqi oil field contracts to mainland China? (Short answer, they needed the oil badly.) WMD in Iraq? There are WMD everywhere, why would they not be in Iraq? Were they found? No. Why? People hide them. It's actually pretty easy to hide something in a desert. Something about lack of landmarks, I think... The UN found evidence of them in the first place, not the USA. Any idea where the Iraqi WMD are now? Yeah, there is a clue or two or three or four. edit: oh shoot, somebody in the news just remembered that Libya has WMD. I suppose none will be found there either...
  10. sometimes I think I go just to see all the posers with temp permits take off when the sun goes down.... Which is about half or more...
  11. +1... oh yeah, I'll agree with that. Just remember not to use the steel shot on the choke. I'm pretty sure you already know that.
  12. Band, decent food, and a fair number of Ohio Riders will make it work well. When Hooters Hillard had bands out there, it was pretty darn good to be there. But interest really dropped off last year. Few of us OR people came out. And they didn't have as many band sessions, I think. And yeah, it's going to be hard to top the sessions at BWRs out East. But we will. We have over 5100 reasons to try. edit: If BWRs out East has any bike nights with band this year, we can just plan and go slam it with our presence.
  13. BTW, in the cruise missile launch, which was maybe 110 by US forces and some number by British forces. One was targeted at Qaddafi's Libyan Army supreme command center. Sort of our way of saying hello. That was also one of the first strikes in Iraq. Fly it in the window and destroy planning capabilities. It was first done in Vietnam, when a GBU 2000 pound bomb flew in the upstairs window of North Vietnamese headquarters, and landed on the map table. It was one of the most effect strikes of the Vietnam war, and scattered enemy high command.
  14. Collisions between bikes are fairly common. If you read national news on motorcycles, it seems to happen frequently. Results vary.
  15. That's pretty much what I've read. It was a Libyan Rebel aircraft circling the town, and they don't know who shot it down, or if. Dunno. Hard to say without more info, but mechanical problems usually don't include large amounts of flame and straight into the ground flight. edit: straight into the ground was probably deliberate by the pilot. Note that in the photo you can see him bailing out.
  16. It's Bush's fault. No wait, Kasich's fault. Err, the devil did it, aw crap...
  17. geek humor... how do you know there isn't a tiny little adapter in there? heh... Shoot, if it had been posted a tiny bit earlier, I'd have taken the photo over there. I just got back from Microcenter...
  18. I started my thread first... neener neener... So we shoot right past 5100 members, and all we get is a yawn? Maybe we only measure advance in round 1000 now...
  19. One US based General Motors production plant shutting down for lack of parts from Japan. - Wall Street Journal
  20. Columbus weather for Friday: 54F low to 66F high 21% chance of T-storm of .01" rain (avg) , early before noon A must ride day So nice I should ride twice or more I do that some times The ride to work is so much fun I turn around and go back and do it again
  21. Done on line. Five year. No free lunch for you, Casper. Better luck next time.
  22. From Columbus, 9 hours, 375 miles minimum... Take 78 to the river and route 2 up, not much longer... edit: well ok, 10 hours, 425 miles...
  23. If it's a 64 bit install, it might need the rest of the RAM first. Depends on which slots the RAM is in. Just a guess...
