  1. When the Honda 550 was designed, the designers took a long hard look at one of the greatest 500cc bikes of all time. The Norton Atlas. You can see elements of the classic Norton Atlas in everything about the Honda 550. I've ridden both, and there is indeed much similarity between them. In particular, the Norton Atlas was an extremely good handling bike.
  2. Yep, gotz those too. More than one type even...
  3. I gotz some OD green scarves... do those count?
  4. heheh... no, leather IS gay, has always been gay, and always will be gay... unfortunately so...
  5. Our point is... the first bike always gets beat up a little bit. It's a learning experience. So plan ahead for that second bike that is nice, and learn first on something easy and cheap. And yes, you're tall enough to ride almost any bike comfortably.
  6. I gravitate towards the "F" models. Always preferred the sporty model. But a 919 is the grandchild of those anyway. And I do still miss a kick starter. Grrrr. But not so much anymore.
  7. Wear this Batman Dark suit, and collect all the vampire hotties you could possibly handle...
  8. I don't expect certain countries in the world to take part in a "global milk shake" without a fight.
  9. #2 was funny, I laughed... *thunk* note: In the not too distant future, there will be no "majority", only more "this minority" than "that minority". Sort of like a global milk shake, get ready for the blender...
  10. Crap, at $1000+ bucks... would have to have insurance on the suit...
  11. Probably posted already, but the suits showed up for one of the first public showings at a trade show. UD Replica introduced Tron, Batman Dark, Ironman, Wolverine, etc... Tron suit has an optional light up jacket. The full IronMan kit sells for $1,099... now go find that matching helmet... http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disney-news/movies/tron-legacy-motorcycle-suits-ud-replicas/
  12. First bike was a white Honda CB160, in a world where small bikes ruled. More like a fast scooter, I rode it all over Ohio and neighboring states, and blew one camshaft, one stator, one crankshaft, and several tires. A learning experience. Luckily most failures were close to home, and I just pushed it back. $200 bucks, and I spent maybe $2000 fooling around changing it. Followed by several CB/CL350s, and a bunch of bikes I bought, repaired and resold. And then the Honda CB750 hit the market, and the world changed forever. Looked like this one, before it got modified...
  13. Yup, that pretty much sums it up. I've never given up on Oliver North. There's way more to his story that we'll ever know.
  14. Get federal money for it. Tell them it's part of an anti-terrorism response team.
  15. Check out some of the motorcycle tire review websites, like this one: Motorcycle Tire Reviews Best guess for cruiser... Pirelli MT66 - people like it Avon Venom - people like it Dunlop 402/404 - great grip/wet, poor wear Metzler 880 - average grip/wet, average wear and a touring tire that might work well Bridgestone Spitfire S11 - people like it EDIT: THIS IS A BIAS PLY TIRE DO NOT MIX BIAS PLY WITH RADIAL (FRONT/REAR) edit: add another website: http://www.tirestest.com/motorcycle_tires/index.html
  16. $2000 to $3000 mostly Craigslist ninja 250s You can get a cheaper bike to learn on. And get a nicer bike later.

  19. Dang, I was going to post that...except slightly different: http://www.youtube.com/user/CISORG I'm starting to get a phobia of hearing "Moar fear!!!!!!!!" You know, ummm... fear of fear...
  20. I was looking at this last week. It's pretty normal, but still shocking when it happens. Yeah, well ok, it's 28% more than "normal", this time. But it was already known that the last "no sunspot" cycle was extremely "no sunspot".

    I'm amused... that is all...
  22. I've done six of the jobs on your list and a couple of others. I am unable to respond. My brain just locks up thinking about it. Or perhaps that's just the lack of coffee... edit: seven if you count hookers and blow...
  23. I sort of remember when that was done. It was testing to see if underground detonations could hide from seismic sensors. Interesting Mississippi history article about it. http://mshistory.k12.ms.us/articles/293/nuclear-blasts-in-mississippi
  24. I agree with the agreeing, lol. It's not the tread that holds the tire together, it's the cord inside. This shouldn't be any worse than a cut or gouge, but keep an eye on it. BUT, if it was a front tire, I'd replace it anyway. edit: I need to add that you will have to judge whether it has damaged the cord carcass under the tread rubber. If it has done that, it is less likely that you would want to use it. edit: Here's mine from last year. A brand new rear. It was flush with the surface before I pulled it out. It leaked. No patching it, since it went in at a steep angle while cornering.
