  1. When it hasn't rained for a long time, rain can make a roadway really slick and slippery. People from Florida know this, because it is a common hazard in Florida. It can be as bad as ice at times. Without rain to wash away the oils and liquids that leak from cars, the centers of the lanes can become incredibly hazardous. Apparently it was that type of condition in some areas of Columbus today. Bad enough to get out sand trucks to fix it. NBC4 News - Columbus
  2. hey, you're not new, just intro shy welcome!
  3. it's done in an neo - Andy Warhol style... it's ok except for Layla was a song by Eric Clapton, errr... and Lola was a dude in drag... I'm with Jagr, Dead Hookers is a much better name edit: ok big guess here, I'm guessing Leyla is Leyla Milani Which makes the bike a big seller in Europe, Italy, even Iran because people think she's Persian
  4. ok, quick and rough stats: of the submissions so far: 50% serious 50% not serious of the submitters so far: 26.6% serious 40.0% not serious 33.3% swing both ways now you know

  6. I keep getting this image in my head, of a group of bikes, the type that generally use back brake and never the front, with everyones feet up on the highway pegs... and one after another, they all think --> oh, wait, brakes!, THUMP! I'll probably have nightmares tonight now...
  7. Back, and saw some wonderful historical aircraft. Got parked behind the red hanger, and that was free parking. Dustinsn3485 and Jenny were there. Pics on photobucket a little later tonight. Usual share of weirdness on the way out and back. Freeway to get there, and moving gently through what seemed to be rather fast moving traffic, a freakin' semi tractor trailer overtakes me and passes me. Let him go, geez. He was weaving and bobbing and changing lanes for no particular reason and even off the right side of the road a couple of times. Came back from Troy on 55-36-161-Riverside Drive. Saw a deputy sheriff stop at 161 and 38 on an "alien" in a pickup full of "stuff". It appeared that the deputy sheriff wasn't making a move till a backup arrived. The backup was, well... backed up and watching closely. Hello to the little silver Saturn Sky convertible. I had no idea those could go that fast. The Mercedes Benz convertible I passed sure wasn't interested. Oh, and a large collection of dead bugs...
  8. Regardless of whatever velocity I might maintain on a country road. I slow for intersections, and other notable hazards to my health and for the safety of others. Particularly BLIND intersections where I can't see what's coming toward me. If that means under the speed limit, so be it. RIP rider

    oh snaps!

cool deal. Slap a sheet of carbon fiber on the sides of those. It's hard to beat Honda OEM luggage. I picked up a K5 passenger backrest (new) for $20 on eBay last week.
  10. So I hit the I-70 entrance ramp, and it's dark, so I hit my brights... and it's very very dark. My high beam isn't working. That's a newish bulb. Good thing I bought two, and kept the original.
  11. rebump Maybe one or two might go along from Columbus, but maybe I ride by myself. I'll get there around 9:30am, I think.
  12. In case you're wondering... "International Talk Like A Pirate Day" is tomorrow, September 19.
  13. SkyNet is your friend. SkyNet told me to say that...
  14. I'll be there, but after eating one of the MooseTown steaks first. So maybe 7:00-7:30. then I can have me some dessert or something. Like beer. Beer is a good dessert. And I want Beth there for entertainment.
  15. ummmm, I'm going to try to do both. Might as well. That means I'll be at SteakVille early. (Or is it MooseTown?)
  16. bump I'm still planning on going. Weather should be cool but clear. I'll be doing an early start to get some of that pancake breakfast. That probably means freeway out and back roads back from Columbus.
  17. It is neither too cold nor too hot and it isn't raining. I'm hungry and I'm leaving now...
  18. I've used liquid or tape sealer in desperation, but the thread of a hydraulic fitting is not meant to be sealed with anything. It should function properly if assembled clean and dry and torqued correctly.

geez, I got mine so long ago, I drove a car to get it. And they took it away when they changed the rules, since I wasn't actually using it...
  20. hahahahahah..... you're getting strafed and whoolied next time I see you in a car. muhahahahaha ... and I'll mug at ya too if I got the time.
  21. From what I've read in the news, this is only the beginning. Florida and Nevada are showing confirmed voter registration fraud. Up to 48%. Some Acorn people are rolling over and testifying. Other Acorn stuff is showing up now that it's time. Acorn was admittedly protected by politicians, that is now gone. Both parties fleeing association. We'll see what gets investigated and prosecuted. If you remember last year, I said Acorn is an evil evil group. Looks like no one will touch them with a ten foot pole now.
  22. Hit the red quote button in the lower right. Edit out pics and stuff not needed, but leave the "quote name;number" at the start and the "/quote" at the end. Using the brackets of course, which I can't use here because it will try to quote... Use the advanced button, and the preview post button, to see what it does before posting.
