  1. Wow, a sulfur based life form that eats and poops iron. How cool is that?
  2. Nope, I'd sooner believe the ground would float away, yes? Mexico or the USA will not keep weapons away from the cartels down there. It's currently cheaper and easier to get them across the border from the USA, regardless of the actual purchase price. If we halted all illegal importation of weaponry into Mexico, the cartels would simply go somewhere else to find weapons. Get the picture? It's not the weapons that represent a problem, it's the cartels. And Mexico has been struggling with civil insurrection with those bad boys for a long long time.
  3. Did I lock the door? Did I lock the door? Did I lock the door? Did I lock the door? Did I lock the door? ...
  4. Update: http://www.wcpo.com/news/local/story/Motorcycle-Crash-Shuts-Down-Hopple-Street-Viaduct/r-lVYdcotU-TPTPJXlp1rg.cspx
  5. I had one of those tonight also. Only left side turning left on 4 lane road. I slowed to speed limit or less for it. She came out into the right hand lane, my lane. I took the left side, since she couldn't get to that one before me. Pulled a zoomie down the side of her car. Happens a lot, doesn't it?
  6. haha, thinking about the time I drank a half a bottle of Tequila and it got absorbed by beef and noodle dinner. It all cut loose later on, and I never in my life hallucinated on alcohol like I did that night. whooo boy
  7. 60 below McConnelsville is ok. It's that part just South of Zanesville I don't like.
  8. shhh, not out loud. I got chocolate cake in the fridge chillin' a bit...yum Seriously, the fried stuff has to go. Entirely stop at first, then in moderation later on. Your stomach will thank you. Otherwise in a few years you might be doubled up in pain from that particular food habit. And it takes months to recover, if ever. Yes, I did that. And it took two or three months of veggies and bread and zero fried stuff to recover.
  9. Dollface, you got it right. Energy in and energy out. Can't get around that. Build up some muscle. Once your body is tuned up, it will tell you what you need to eat and when. If you listen close and can hear it speak. (Is that Grokking?)
  10. Beer IS food. Historically, and still is. It was a way of storing grain, without it spoiling, rotting, or being eaten by critters. Plus it's a liquid that is safe to drink compared to drinking out of the river or stream. Which isn't too good for you. Yes, civilization as we know it was dependent on beer and ale.
  11. Yeah, 78 crosses 555. 60 to Zanesville is kinda bumpy. It annoys me. I take 37 out of McConnelsville to get back home.
  12. I am known for the art of the ambush in that area. I R the ReconRat.
  13. That came out a few years back. It's still as stupid as then. Gosh, don't want to hurt their little feelings. Actually, you can't stop kids messing with kids. It's what kids do, with or without the dodgeball.
  14. Ok, if you want to hit 78 to get there, take 78 to Nelsonville, north a bit on 33, to 278. Take that to 56, then West/North to 664. Slow it down past both Ash Cave on 56 and Hocking Hills on 664. Very low speed limit with bunches of pedestrians and cars on the road pulling in and out. (Parking on one side of the road, everything else on the other. People walking across the road everywhere.) There might be a ton of cager traffic in the way anyway. Especially on 664 between Logan and Hocking Hills state park. That's a decent ride. And if you go just past the 664 when on 56 at South Bloomingville, you find Jimbo's. Stop and eat biker food. Jimbo's Bar & Diner‎ - more info » 23356 State Route 56, S Bloomingville, OH‎ - (740) 332-6550 This is a typical bike loop and will have a ton of bikes on it. Actually, 56 is sometimes so much fun, I turn around and do it again. Alternate is to continue on 56 out of South Bloomingville to 180 to 374 and find your way over to 664. Be aware that 374 is a funky but fun road with some gravel and sand, and it goes past Cantwell Cliffs state park. There's two corners on 374 where bikes tend to go down. You can skip 374 and take 180 all the way back to 33 instead. Dang... now I want to go wit... edit: BTW, I've never heard of a bike going down going this direction, it's always the other way. Funny that...
  15. Old data (back in the 80s): time from awareness to impact averages 4 seconds. An alert experienced (sober) motorcyclist can react in approximately two/tenths to four/tenths of a second and avoid or reduce the problem. The majority of motorcyclists do nothing in the 4 seconds prior. Don't know if it's still true. If anything, modern brakes and tires are a tremendous advantage. They are so much better than drum brakes and bias-ply tires.
  16. Sorry to hear that, little one. Stay strong for your Father.
  17. http://www.motorcycleroads.us/regions/oh_buckeye.html http://www.motorcycleroads.us/regions/oh_central.html This website has been redone into a much more graphic format. Click on the roads on the map, for details. Or on the list on the right. The Red ones are the twisties. Blue is sweepers, Green is scenic. Brown is unpaved. Before you go, post up and get current rider reports from those that have been there recently. My favorite seems to be 78 right now. I need to ride it from one end to the other, and back again. The roads around Coshocton seem to be in much better condition than some of the roads down South. Some of the smaller (narrower) 3 digit roads have poorly marked corners that have reducing radius turns, often breaking uphill or downhill. These are where the accidents happen. 78 is ok, it's a bigger better road, nice and clean, even now. Even so, some parts of it can be spooky the first time. Most of the 3 digit roads, it's best to let a local or experienced rider, (or other joker of your choice) lead through them first. Edit: the map for 664 is goofed up when you click for details, so I assume some of the other road maps are laid out wrong also.
  18. Welcome. The rest of us are hiding out down at Columbus State.

    Are you fat?

What next, you go into the restaurant and they call out "party of two"? Charge you twice for seats at the movie, ball park, etc? how about a discount for us skinny types. I'm all for that.
  20. I did notice that in C-bus at 6:30am. It would coat both the outside and inside of the visor. Not the best way to see the road.
  21. Of course I rode in this morning. If it's not raining or freezing, I ride in. Going home wet is just life with a motorcycle. I did skip two days this week, it was raining in the morning.
  22. I buy stuff here, it's the cheapest on line parts I've found; http://cheapcycleparts.com/

    I'm A Nut

Same here, no cold rain. No, not slipping unless forcing it with the throttle or the brake. Tires stick good.
  24. ok, have to throw this one in... what cosplay character is this? The BlueBerry of Desire? I'll take two...
  25. HAHAHA that's hilarious... I didn't know legos could do that...
