  1. Enjoy the weather and scenery but don't get carried away! Wet leaves on the road in turns might was well be fricken ice! I'm off this week so I'm sure I'll be out abit at some point.
  2. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy SII I just bought from Walmart online. $299 with a $30 Tmobile card included so total cost was $330 plus tax/shipping. Didn't need the tmobile card so I resold that to someone for $15.
  3. The blocks of the 800 band that cells phones use(d) are blocked, you can't tune them in for privacy issues, however, the 400 band is wide open, hence the invention of the frequency doubler The doubler allows you to listen to the complete 800 band without restrictions. It's a little device that runs on a 9v battery and plugs inline with the antenna, turn it on and it doubles the frequency you are tuned into.
  4. Some people don't like being a slave to a contract.
  5. You can still use a scanner to listen to them if you get a frequency doubler. You need a doubler because the 800mhz band that they operate in is blocked but if you use a doubler to listen to the unblocked 400 band doubled you can hear them. At least it worked like that a few years back, haven't had my scanner out in years. I think they are on different bands nowadays. Following a conversation was hard though if the person was moving because the cell tower would switch channels as the person moved and you'd lose the conversation.
  6. I had the bag phone too, took it out of the bag and velcro'd that bitch into a brief case. I was rollin with the briefcase phone like drug dealer That's cause they were pumping out 10 times (maybe more) the wattage of anything today. I think I have two in a box somewhere in my close lol.
  7. Have a good ride, keep warm, be safe!

  9. Happens all the time to me in my neighborhood too, usually when I'm in my work van. I use to stop or swerve while horning them, it's happened so many times to me that I don't think I'll stop anymore or try to avoid them, the only way to teach them a less will be to let them slam into the front of my van. Won't bother me a bit since I run a dashcam in my van now and they will be at fault for running the stop sign, and it's a company van

    Scoot-A-Que

I started out riding on a scooter. Had a Honda Silverwing, that's where I got the handle "SWing'R" as Silverwing riders referred to their bikes as Swings. Scooters are fun, but I don't really miss the bike cause I love my FZ6R My Swing...
  11. GV isn't going to protect your cell phone from a random number generating dialer program. I suppose the only real answer is to just to never answer calls from numbers you don't recognize.
  12. The numbers are different every time they call. The number that shows on your phone is not really their number, it's some poor smuck that will now have to get his number changed because they jacked it. Similiar to when a spammer uses your email address as their "from" address. You get blamed even though you had nothing to do with it.
  13. Do Not Call List,:lol: Dude that shit is a joke. The idea was fine when it came out, until the phone spammers/solicitors realized no one was enforcing it! If you call the AG they'll laugh at you. There is no way to trace the caller, they use expensive autodialing equipment to spoof the number they are calling from. And for the record, ALL my numbers are on the permanent DNC list. Doesn't stop anything.
  14. I constantly get spam calls on my cell phone from a company that identifies itself simply as "Card Services". It's always the same automated message saying... "there is nothing wrong with your credit card but we can offer you a better deal blah blah blah press 9 if you'd like to have your number removed from our contact list or press 1 to speak with a representative" Well, as you can imagine, pressing 9 does not remove you from any list since I still get the calls. And pressing 1 to speak to rep is always fun, it transfer you to what sounds like somebody sitting at their home talking on a cheap ass headset, they usually sound surprised that you actually pressed 1, and then when you ask them questions about who they are or ask to speak with a manager they say nothing and just hang up. Usually if you call the number back that showed on your caller id its some poor smucks cell phone number that the company spoofed his number using their crooked illegal dialing equipment. I don't know how these people sleep at night.
  15. Yes it is the last one Melissa and I will probably head up there Friday night for a final time Not sure what happened, seems people have just lost interest in the chain. Of course, the Tilted Kilt didn't help much
  16. I've got a new phone on a new network that I'm evaluating and it has a tether/wifi hotspot function built in to the phone The plan is unlimited voice/talk/text/no contract so I am using it as a hot spot for my work laptop while on the road it's working great!
  17. I wasnt speeding. The speed limit is 75 on that road

    Dash Cam?

Mine starts recording automatically when power is applied via the power cord and stops when power is removed. If you are using it on the internal battery you need to stat/stop it manually. Mine will keep recording and start erasing the oldest videos as it needs room. However, the 32g sd card holds over 9hrs of video so I almost never have that happen. If I want to erase it manually you can do so from the menu or pull out the card and stick in your pc and delete all the files.
  21. I know right. She should have been left on her back in the street until paramedics got there.

  23. I can do that with mine! It's quite comfortable. I do it when I'm on long highway stretches without much traffic, cause you don't wanna have your feet back on the rears if you have do something quickly.
