  1. I talked to R1nutsucker about this truck at Nelson earlier in the year and can vouch, he told me straight up it was a legit truck and really good shape for the year etc. He's a good dude, this would be a great first truck or work truck for someome. Where is MaxPower, he still looking for something for his daughter? This is a 2 seater so nothing "too bad" can happen Oh just remove the cap, those things never end well with teenagers and a mattress. Wait, does your dad have silver nuts on the tailer hitch, that alone is worth the asking price.
  2. Yeah, with them it's definitely the way to go. American made, have them try out the new Fusion, thing is sick, or even the Taurus. They redid the Taurus and it's actually really roomy, and based off what became the Ford 500 for a few years. My dad's been talking about doing the same thing with a new Eco-boost because they take moms car everywhere and he only drives about 2 days a week, 20 miles each day. Then once or twice a month drives to a race no more then 3 hours away, so it could make sense. All he is waiting for is when the repair bills on his current F150 outweigh the payments for a new lease. Mom's car however, no chance. She's gone 8 hours a day(retired) volunteering and doing all kinds of stuff. Then weekends she goes to MI, MD, hell, most of the time I don't even know where. So we can't lease with her due to miles, which is the biggest downfall I see in leasing. And as stated above, in my wife and I's case leasing wouldn't work. I mod all my cars/trucks, and do my own maintenece. Well, except hers, but that's because we bought it new and their service plan actually worked out covering way more in service work than the costs when I did the math, so we bought that too. But at 0.00% why wouldn't we, free money, and if we just paid for oil changes for 5 years or 100K it would be more than the plan. I'd say go for it, sounds like they are the perfect type for a lease program.
  3. These look liek a hella good deal; http://sport.woot.com/plus/boyt-harness-gun-cases#
  4. You all can thank me later, these look sick; http://sport.woot.com/plus/boyt-harness-gun-cases#
  5. Good to know R1IsuckRVTssweatyballsafterjerkingit. Thanks for the info, we'll just go for the antenna then, as that's all the wife's family has ever had and in the end it'll save us even more. I really watch about 1 hr a week of TV if I am lucky and once we have the kid I don't think I'll watch any. I can get whatever I want off Youtube, especially since WSBK is on there now, or just stream stuff on my laptop when it's on. Or head to a neighbors or friends I guess.
  6. Yeah wait, I have Uverse and last night Speed was on, if it goes, I would drop cable that second. Wife watches Lifetime like it's going out of style, and those stupid vampire shows, the amish thing, and some other dumb staged crap that most normal females watch. I watch racing, sports, and Man V. Food. Actually, we're dropping cable in Nov. when our 1 year contract is up, grabbing a Roku and done.
  7. 1st Congrats! 2nd actually my wife is encouraging me to get more toys after the baby is born. Wants a cruiser before next summer so we can go cruise too. I said sure, just let me know what you want and we'll get one so long as it's not super ghey. The marriage didn't slow me down, but knowing I have a little one on the way did a few times at the track. Oh then cuts at work slowed me way down, but again, not the marriage.
  8. Just wanted to toss a HUGE thanks to Standout who so graciously took me under his wing yesterday and helped me install my leveling kit and bigger blocks to my new F250. Dude know's his shit and saved me MASSIVE cash, 66% to be exact. He let me use his shop, his tools, his gas, and even his potty to get the work done. As I posed earlier I had a set of leveling blocks and larger rear blocks I wanted installed on my truck, had a dude ready to do it 3 days now, and he iced me everytime. I got tired of jerking around and PM'd Standout about meeting up Saturday for a no-homo work day. He was at the shop before I even showed up, on his off day mind you, and ready to go. I got there and in 45 mins or less we had the front end done, I was quoted 1.5 hours of work at $105 an hour from 3 different lift shops around the area, granted we had 2 people but still. He let me use his tools, his lift, etc, and we rocked it out. He was very helpful and taught me a few things along the way which I liked too. Then came the rear end, get it? Rear end, but remember this was non homo time. So we got started on the rear blocks and turned out the U bolts they sent me were about 1/8inch too long, so we could only use them if we went super ghetto and put spacing washers in there, which wasn't really what either of us wanted to do. Here is where it gets real and shows how good of a dude Alan is, he drove me around all the way out to Trails West to get the right size U bolts and back, no questions asked. I mean like 45 minutes of driving, on a Saturday, in traffic. Dude is just a good dude. We finished up and when we got done just shot the crap a little bit. Overall had we had the right size U bolts, with Alan's knowledge and experience, we would have been done in under 2 hours, best quote I had for total work was $300.00 or 3x1 labor hour at 105ish, you get the picture. Let's just say that Alan was very gracious and told me not to worry about paying him and that it was his first lift and he enjoyed it etc. No way that was happening, I just took up 4 hours of his time, wasted basically his whole Saturday, dude needed paid. I took care of him and drove off into the sunset, not really, it was 4pm, but I went home, took the wife for a ride and got some food. Alan is a great guy and really knows his stuff, told me he can usually do an engine swap in less than 2 days and most in 1 day! That's impressive I don't care who you are. So a big shoutout to Alan, and be sure if you guys have car/truck questions to let him know. I also met the owner of the shop/dealer he works at, dude is a LEGIT guy, I mean super cool. I loved working on the truck there, and it was a super nice shop. Oh and acutally he told me their hourly labor rate and its WAY less than any shop I called around, even like Monroe, Meinke, etc. WAY LESS. So get at Standout for all your car/truck needs.
  9. Dude no words can describe the MAN-NESS you just laid down. MT for president.
  10. Funny story about this cart... When I went to Cincy to grab mine from the dealer, apparently this person had called the dealer to "trade it in", told them they had wanted 4,500. The dealer I dealt with took the info, etc. ran the numbers and offers 2,000. The person selling it said no way, in return the dealer told them they were insane and that the car was worth basically dick compared to their asking price. That leads us to today, that cart needs several hundred dollars of work, as it was 3 weeks ago at least, as the dealer told me when I the convo came up, and is not even ready to ride. I mean you can get a gas cart for under 2K at a dealer if you look around, and electric should actually be cheaper as they require way more maintenence. Not trying to shit on Caspers thread as that isn't my style, but it's funny because this is the same exact cart she was talking about. Showed me pics etc. Lady was actually really legit, straight forward, and didn't BS us. I took Max Powers trailer down, knew what I wanted, showed up, bought it. She didn't try to upsell us to the more expensive Club Cars, or any new units after we told her I wasn't dropping more than 2,150, which is what the Yammy we got was offered at. It was the Mid Ohio golf carts store out of Hebron/Heath and Cincy. Overall, it was a 10/10, I will absolutely buy another cart from them, and just wish Groveport was legal to drive on the roads. Casper, not trying to dump on you, it would be fun, but the price is OUTRAGEOUS. Body kits are 500 from any place up by lake erie. Shit, at Harbor Winds there was an H2 electric cart, and it was gangsta as shit.
  11. This is possible. I would say chances are high that you are right.
  12. Putnam was actually built specifically by some rich dude to test his race cars or so I am told. It was basically a private track that some rich dude had built for play time/testing. Similar to what Beaver is now. I would imagine there were some cool testing videos shot there, not sure what's posted on Youtube as they may be all VHS LOL
  13. Thats a solid deal with the Yammy motor. Interested to see long term results on it, keep us posted.
  14. Thats what I use in my garage, only on cars/trucks/trailer. I would use it on the bike but I always use the same gauge for that to ensure it's the same PSIs. Overall if they have that at Pony for 30, its a good pickup. And as stated, digital is fine too, and I believe super cheap now right? I just found my digital actually in my old teenage toolbox I had my parents bring down. Need to get batteries and toss it in the truck.
  15. Correct, so you want to buy something like I posted with Amazon, where it's more accurate in that area of measurement.
  16. Actually this isn't petty at all. For anyone who tracks/races this is beyond important, for wear, grip, and most of all safety. On the street pretty much just as important I believe. I wouldn't want like 60psi in a street tire I am abou to run through Hocking or any twisties, and I am sure a crusier doesn't want 21PSI or something liket hat. I think this is a very good post. I use a Joes Racing one I got from Amazon, love it. Also have an Accu-Guage I got with my tire warmers. Neither were real expensive and both are accurate where we need them, 20-40psi range, which is key. The late model team uses Longacre, but they are for lower PSI, like 5-20psi as that's about all we run. This is what I run below, I believe. SJC1000RR has the same, and I think several others too. 20bux. http://www.amazon.com/Joes-Racing-32307-Pressure-Gauge/dp/B00404WDUC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1371153140&sr=8-2&keywords=tire+pressure+gauge
  17. Actually, if there is someone on here that knows how to do a throwout switch, once my kids here I'd like to talk to you. I don't mess with anything more than electrical outlets/switches and even then hate it. I plan to get one installed towards end of the summer, maybe we can all go together and get an electrician. Shoot wait, my inlaws have 2 electricians in the family, boom, one in Canal and one in Amanda. Gotta get at them.
  18. Yeah, my I.E. at work doesn't like refresh correctly, like if I go to Weather.com it will often show weather from months ago. Weird. The battery is usually a motorcycle or lawn batter, so autozone etc. I know some places sell used ones that are just refilled with the decals taken off for like 20-30. Yeah for 499, it wouldn't be bad at all to have for home use. Home Depot had/has throwout switches to install and then just get a feed line from genny to throwout box. My aunt/uncle have a setup like this in MI, I think they've used it actually, just to run the basics. My aunt/uncle in Lancaster have whole house genny, thing is NASTY but $$.
  19. I can attest that the motor has a ton to do with it, especially as you get to these higher W gennys. I.E. we had a Harbor Freight 5,500W 6,500W surge, and it ran more like the 3,000W Champion I have now. Definitely was underpowered when it was said and done. However, I will say this Predator brand is coming around, we are seeing more and more at the races, but I still have my Champion for 299 and never plan to replace it, unless I upgrade and give it to my parents. But probably would just buy another and give them the old one. They changed the design on it to make it more sleek etc. The Home Depot one is VERY common, I can think of 5 that I saw just around our camp last weekend, and its loud as all get out, BUT it's god a Yammy motor. My friend runs an OLD Yammy, probably 90's model, in his toter and it powers everything we use to work on the car. Issue is if it isn't cool out or fully pulled out on the genny rack it overheats as it is next to the compressor. Not really an issue on either of these, BUT it can still happen to the best. If you are going whole house, either one would work, they probably have similar HP engies in the end, the CCs are different for sure, BUT that isnt all that matters. FWIW the old Harbor Freight genny we ran could barely power 2 trailer AC units, fridges, and lights etc. The new Champion genny, although half the power can power all of that so long as we don't surge them all at the same time. Start one AC for 10 mins, then plug in the other trailer, and it works fine. Did that for 3 straight days 3 years ago and no issues, just burnt a little more fuel. If you do go with it, I think for what you are looking for you'd be happy, but in the end the power difference vs a bigger brand that is smaller for same price, like what Troppa showed you, wouldn't be bad either. And would probably last longer in the end. You can always build a shelter out of cheap plywood and insulation for around the genny too. I would if I really cared or thought the Champions were loud, but I definitely don't and we've had no issues. We did have a tent camper cut the genny wires on the HF one one though. Lucky for him we didn't notice until we got home, or he would have gotten a good beating. EDIT: The site isn't showing 499 for me I dont think, if its 100 cheaper, sure go for it. It does have electric start which is nice too, I do know that. You won't be mad for what you're using it for.
  20. Yeah, that was a joke down by me. Rain, wind, some light hail(I think, I didn't get out of bed to check) no real thunder or anything. Heck my dog slept through it and that never happens.
  21. 100% guarantee Bowdog know's someone. Text him.
  22. Did this on my F150 once, nightmare. Then there was the time I was doing a fuel filter swap on my F250, for some reason I hadn't drained the lower fuel seperator where the main filter is, unscrewed it and got soaked with diesel. Had an F150 I was doin a fuel filter swap for an for some reason it just wouldn't release, ended up when it did, there was still pressure for some rason and soaked me with fuel then too. Both gas and diesel burn real bad when left on skin very long. I've over filled the bike twice, finally read in the manual and add exactly the right amount now and don't even try adding more until I get to the track and check it once it's been hot and rode hard.
  23. Man, we are about to be going through this with our dog. Baby is due in 8 weeks, dog is very protective and very much an attention whore. Luckily we have a steel muzzle for him and are digging it out to start training him with it early enough that we hope it will be ok. It's really a tough place to be, we are very nervous and already have a rule that before the baby is anywhere the dog can reach/get to him, the dog must be muzzled. Actually it will probably be more like the dog is muzzled before the kid comes out of the car. Then he gets unmuzzled to eat while the kid eats/sleeps, and then back on. Sucks, but the dog can't be trusted and I'm not willing to take a chance. I got bit on the nose the day I came hospital and my parents kept that dog, he just turned into an outside dog, which may be the way it goes with our dog too. Either way, good luck, I hope someone can take him.
  24. Plan as of now is Craig and I rolling up too. I just have to look at a few things, they just cut a lot of jobs here, and all of them in my department............ No bueno. As of now I am in, supposed to call Craig this week to discuss. If we come I believe we were going to bring the TH and hoped to get 1 more person from Cbus to come with to help with fuel costs etc. I will post up after my wife and I do some discussing this week about what the future may hold for employment and finances with the kid 8 weeks out.
