  1. Pilot Road 2 on the front and road attack on the rear. Once the Ra is dead I'll put on a PR2. Ra's are good tires and I wouldn't have changed if PR2 weren't such a good deal online.
  2. Not so much around the Valley. I haven't been over that way yet this year. Yesterday and today I've been riding to work. So the second and third rides of the season with be complete by the early tomorrow morning. Around 1-2 am. Then the fourth tomorrow. Yee Haw! Also stopped last night to practice some slow speed stuff in the Great Lakes mall parking lot. I'm ready just don't know about the roads down there. Anyone ridden the area at all this season? If so is it clean?
  3. If those are the D220's stock on the Sv you'll be a happy rider when you do replace them. Those tires sucked and seemed to last forever.

  5. With all the posts Inya and Jrmm have made since I've been on here it would be nice to actually meet you guys. Thatdude also but I'm not getting my hopes up.
  6. Ride time changed!! We will be leaving Mayfield no later than 11:00 and going straight to QSL the way I mentioned before. I'll try to be there by 10:30. I'm usually sleeping at this time and will most likely only have 4 hours of sleep. We won't be stopping on the way to QSL . When we get to Valley View we'll stop at Shell and get gas. Sound good?
  7. So your saying we folks meeting in Mayfield should roll out no later than 11:00. This is all a little early for me. Since I normally don't go to sleep till 5-6 am and wake up at 12-1 pm. I'll make it work but man am I going to be one grumpy sob. Especially if I don't get my coffee.
  8. Reviving the dead! Some people have talked of riding Girdled rd. in Concord/ Leroy area. I was on it on my way to work and there are cinders all thru the first two turns going down to the bridge on the good section, heading east of rt.608. If you ride the road you'll know exactly where I'm talking about. It's bad or I wouldn't have posted about it. I was Thinking how happy I am to be behind two cars. Could have been disastrous!
  9. We'll talk about all that kind of stuff at the meet. Depending on time and how often people want to stop we'll get some pictures somewhere in there. I'll have my camera always. I do plan on stopping at Brandywine Falls and in Peninsula for beverages, along with the stop at State 8. Any other stops will be along the side of the road or in a little park entrance type area.
  10. For everybody planning on coming to this ride and I'm leading. With all this talk lately about group riding etiquette I want to make some things clear here and now. 1. Do not ride off unless you tell someone first! It's really bothersome. 2. We will ride in stagger formation. If you have a problem with it don't ride in the group follow behind. Simple as that. 3. NO BULLSHIT! I don't want to deal with it and other people will not also. Lets just have a good ride and meet each other. 4. We'll stop and wait for the group at any turn off or stop light/ signs. No splitting the group with other traffic. If it happens. Next place to pull over, we'll pull over. 5. Pace is going to to based on the road conditions and group as a whole. We'll see how many show up and how everyone is along the way. Plus my shoulder is never quite right. So my ride depends a lot on that. 6. If there is any grievance PLEASE take it up with the person you have the issue with. Don't come back here and make a big deal when you could have taken care of it when the issue happened. This happens almost every time I ride with a large group. We're all adults! 7. I can't believe I'm typing this. 8. Make sure you have gas before you arrive at QSL. With a group it's a pain to stop and fill up. If for some reason, I can tell whoever where there is a gas station. Just ask! Don't run outta gas! 9. Wear a helmet. 10. If you're comfortable pointing out edge traps and what not, do it. It might help out someone behind you. One more for the hell of it. 11. No passing in group unless you are waved by the rider you are passing. If you have to pass more than one make sure all of the riders your passing are aware of what you're doing before you do it. Not while you're doing it by the sound of your pipe and/or horn! We'll talk when we get there. This is just to get the basics down. If you don't like it, Oh well. You wouldn't be the first. One thing I really don't want to ever deal with is someone getting hurt or killed on my part. I've been down at slow speed and believe you me it still hurts and wouldn't wish it on anyone. If anyone else want to lead and is civilized I be more than happy to run clean up. If not and I lead we're going to have some rules.
  11. I'll use the route I posted ^ I just got a Lowrance Xog from a friend and haven't played with routing that much. So far I like it. There should be someone who is experienced with the area and has # of the other riders pulling up the rear. If the group is big enough we'll brake into two groups. Like I said before, I rarely do group rides and spend most of my time riding with 3 or 4 bikes. I did lead that Waterfall ride last year and there were no issues other than the guy who took off. That group wasn't really big and under control. As long as e have the same thing minus the rider who left without saying a word we'll be good. That really bothered me for some reason.

Living here for over 30 yrs and landscaping in the area for 15 of them I know just about every road worth knowing. The only part of the map ^ I really don't know all that well is whats west of River view rd. Everything else I've been on many times just not yet this year. Since this will only be my second ride of the season I won't be going fast. I'm more worried about people getting bored or pushing the group. That's why I was hoping to run clean up. Whatever though. We'll make it work.

  16. No problem. I might do it. I just don't know the roads all that well in the Cuyahoga Valley area. I'll see if I can program the route in the GPS. If I can I'll be more confident with a group of riders following me and me leading them where we intend to go. Two other things. I don't know many of you guys so I worry about pace and and not pissing people off because I'm not a "master ride leader." We'll see how many people show up and the mood of the group. If no one else steps up I'll do what I have to do.
  17. Alright. I'm going to leave HD and go back roads there and home. Rarely do I ever go on the slab. If I do it is to get somewhere over 100 miles away quickly. I have a way I take to QSL down Chagrin River through the parks. Might take something close to a hour. Probably less than that. I really don't know. It's just how I go to the area.
  18. I also dhould be wandering around the Chagrin river rd. Area before hand. How are you guys going down to Qsl. Slab or parks?

  20. East side I would recommend for their schools and the community would be Mentor, Willowick/Willoughby, Chesterland, Novelty, Bainbridge, Solon, Chardon. Plus with these places you have lower taxes since they are in Lake and Geauga county vs. Cuyahoga county and no more than 30 minutes from CSU.
