The road crews threw down some heavy salt up here. I was cussing the whole way home! I know they have to do it in order to get more for next year. It just ruins where I was planning to ride this Saturday. We'll be good for this ride I hope. Never know here in the OH..

If all decide to go west you'll need someone with better knowledge of the roads. Only thing I have ridden west is the parks and some stuff towards Medina.
-
I could make up a route but I need to know some things. It will be just to give you all some ideas of where to go. I don't want to lead so don't expect me to "take over". How long of a ride are you all wanting to do? Since were starting at 2:00 do we want to ride till dark? Do people want to stick around the valley, wander around or go to the north, go west instead of east? Here's a short ride going back north. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=5935+Canal+Road,+Cleveland,+OH+44125-4231+(Quaker+Steak+%26+Lube)&daddr=Riverview+Rd+to:W+Hines+Hill+Rd+to:Boston+Mills+Rd+W+to:Akron+Peninsula+Rd+to:100+Cuyahoga+Falls+Industrial+Pkwy,+Peninsula,+OH+44264+(State+8+Motorcycles)+to:Twinsburg+Rd+E+to:Old+Mill+Rd+to:S+Bissell+Rd+to:N+Bissell+Rd+to:Depot+Rd%2FTrail+182+to:N+Main+St+to:41.438673,-81.406288+to:Bedford+Chagrin+Pkwy%2FCleveland+Metropolitan+Pkwy+to:Harper+Rd+to:Bedford+Chagrin+Pkwy%2FCleveland+Metropolitan+Pkwy+to:Bedford+Chagrin+Pkwy%2FCleveland+Metropolitan+Pkwy+to:Bedford+Chagrin+Pkwy+to:Bedford+Chagrin+Pkwy+to:Cleveland+Metro+Pkwy+to:Cleveland+Metro+Pkwy+to:Cleveland+Metro+Pkwy&geocode=FRbAdwIdkHsi-yGSQUbhTkykIikV9qUTQuQwiDHqjeNi1IxZRA%3BFUgMdwId1NIi-w%3BFYqxdQIdgpcj-w%3BFS9_dQIdARYk-w%3BFcIHdQIdl6wj-w%3BFb9xdAId01sk-yFIHRf7hPB51g%3BFWbldQIdZKkk-w%3BFZYDdgIdrX0m-w%3BFQE3dgIdBYcm-w%3BFRCVdgId5okm-w%3BFbjxdgIdg3Im-w%3BFZQyeAIdmg0m-w%3B%3BFfTydwIdgo0l-w%3BFXbsdwIdQOsk-w%3BFb2VdwIdqMck-w%3BFV9sdwIdaask-w%3BFSV2dwIdaBgk-w%3BFUZ4dwIdO_sj-w%3BFVh4dwId3ckj-w%3BFQZTdwIdlkAj-w%3BFZlQdwIdbjYj-w&hl=en&mra=dpe&mrcr=2&mrsp=12&sz=14&via=1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20&dirflg=h&sll=41.424773,-81.395302&sspn=0.036169,0.063944&ie=UTF8&ll=41.317529,-81.464996&spn=0.289831,0.511551&t=h&z=11

Hello Hollywood.
-
I've heard good things about that bike. Nice pictures. Looks like you have some good roads to ride.
-
By the way his name will now be Squish!
-
Good then more than one thing can be had from this. You get inspired and I had a nice ride. Somebody needs to remember the little guy!
-
No problem. If you ever come east let me know and I'll tell you about some roads to ride and things to see.

Great ride today. Coffee trip turn into a 100 mile loop. Went down to Chagrin had a coffee and rode out to Burton to ride Rapids rd. and some of stuff. Very little traffic so I just cruised and took pictures in places I never have before. The new coat was great! 46* I think, sunny at times but cloudy most of the time. Very pleasant ride, bike runs great what more could I ask for? On to the pictures- IT's going to be a long one. How my cockpit looks now. I moved the gps to the right side of the bar clamps. Doesn't vibrate, musics nice to ride to and I can still hear cars and stuff. This is a part of the hunting ground off Rapids rd north of Pond rd, south of Rt.87. Looking north. I was going to leave this one out because it might be gross to some people. I just can't because when I went to take this picture of my bike I almost stepped on it and said "gotta take a picture of you. " He had an impact on today some how Back to the scenery. This next sequence of pictures if my favorite little section of road in Geauga county. No driveways just hunting ground and not all that much traffic. Plus the speedlimit is 55. Kind of rare around here. Looking south down Rapids rd. Looking North the towards the section of road and home. Coming around that right hander you come down this straight To this left and 40 mph. right. Then there's another right and 30mph left about a mile out side of Burton. I didn't stop to take those pictures. Just something about coming down thru the woods around that right, seeing the road like that always makes me happy. So keep heading home and rode down another back road to this spot where people fly radio controlled airplanes. Didn't see any today. Where I came from. After I stopped here I just rode for a while to the north side of Chardon by Big Creek Park. I took this rough rd that runs parallel to Rt.608. Looking down the nice section on 608 I didn't ride. Then I went over to Cascade rd. and took some pictures the creek. The view from the first bridge headed north on Cascade rd. Then I had to stop at my annual spring picture at this waterfall on Fay rd. It only flows nicely during the spring so I stop and look at it. The annual picture. Can't choose which one I like the most. The creek running by. Looking west One of of just the waterfall. Thanks for looking everybody and hope to see you around! __________________

Here's that Scorpion jacket I linked to the other day. Only ridden with it for 10 minutes but headed out in a couple for a couple hours. Jacket has some nice stitching, a lot of pockets and seems to be just what I was looking for. First leather riding coat for me so my experience with this type of coat is nonexistent. I the only thing style wise I could do without is the flames. Glad I didn't get the one with patches. It would be just to flashy for me. So far I would recommend it for the $150 it costs.

I don't bother to wave anymore. Unless I'm waved to first or I know the bike and rider. I could care less what you ride if you wave you'll be waved back to. Scooter or bicycle of that matter. And that's my dos pesos.
-
Over to the Kinzua Dam, Laurel Highlands, Ohio Pyle, basically western PA. I like riding in Pa. There are some really nice clean roads and beautiful scenery.
-
Hello and nice bike. Furthest east I usually make it around these parts is Nelson, Mantua, Hiram... Been threw Southington (534) several times. But just to meet up with some riders going east into Pa. See you around.
-
Every time I see darkside I think of this. Congrats on the new bike. Hope you get all the enjoyment out of it you ask for.

Slight jack here but this might help. If I think what your saying is what your saying. Then what I did was wire in a fused hot feed off my license plate light, ground to the battery, to a power outlet splitter in my tank bag. Then thru the tank bag, out the front to the gps mounted on a ram mount. There's many different ways to do it. Here some pics. Soldered connection to the plate light. Connections at the battery with a disconnect. All stowed away so it doesn't look like a mess. Up the tank There's a SAE plug under the magnet to disconnect. In the bag Out the front to the gps. Help any?

What exactly do you mean install?
-
Not exactly but I see how you can think of it that way. It started as a pc gaming name and stuck. 1888 was because all the lost's I tried were taken. It was fitting with riding also because I never really have a destination planned until I started riding with other people. For some reason nobody just wants to go get lost. Now I have a gps so it's even less fitting. Oh well it's been what it is for a couple years now and won't change. Plus I'm not very creative and can't think of a new one. I bet you didn't really give two shits anyways. So back to your regularly scheduled thread. So if we meet in Mayfield Heights at Denny's/ Dick's/ Kohl's or whatever what everyone's thoughts on riding River rd. thru the park down to QSL. Other questions. Who's leading this ride? ( I really would rather not lead!! I'm kind of sick of leading everybody every time I ride somewhere) Whats the set time of said ride? What will be the rules of the group? Or will he hash it out there? (Don't really feel like having the same issues we had last year. So lets get this out of the way now or later when we all meet up.)

Damn I get confused with all these N.E threads.

I went down >30 in a JR ballistic textile 5.0 jacket on the road and it held up fine and I still wear it. The only sign of the crash is a scuff on the badge on the shoulder. Imo textile jackets are good. Especially for touring type rides. You should make sure the armor is good in all the places it should be. In my short time in the riding and especially on the forums I've learned you have your gear naxi's, your leather naxi's and your I bought this so you should too naxi's. A mesh jacket I won't touch. Just for the simple reason it's really not intended to hold up for more than one off. So I see it as a waste of money when you can get a textile or leather for the same price or close to.
-
I would be out riding if I didn't go back to work 5pm-2am. It sure did throw a wrench in the whole evening rides for me. Although it sure is nice to get a paycheck. Not this weekend but the next I'll be out and about. This weekend I have some bikes to work on and a tire to put on mine Sunday at some point. There just aren't enough hours in the day
-
I have this jacket and only wear it in the summer. It's pretty good. The only thing I don't like is the rain liner is not removable and traps sweat.Since I have been wearing wicking undershirts it hasn't really bothered me. I call it my power ranger coat and it has held up very well especially since it only cost $60.
-
This makes me say what! At $140 you can find all kinds of jackets. Hell for $9 more you can get a nice Jackethttp://www.newenough.com/street/closeouts/leather_suits_jackets_and_pants/scorpion/all_in_leather_motorcycle_jacket.html. At least I did yesterday. I buy most of my gear at Newenough and their close out section has saved me a lot of money for the things we need most like gas and tires.
