We use to have a dis play of filters when I worked at a parts store years ago. It is interesting to see the differences. If I remember correctly the Fram's and Delco filters looked the worst. Wix looked the best. But that's just looks Filters can become a really heated subject. I say do what you want! FWIW

Not that my opinion matters. But I have been using a K&N and Shell Rotella T 5W40 for my bike. I will only use Wix on my cars. You know them Wix are NASCAR approved:roll:

Good looking out Jagr! I just saw this thread and was going to do the same thing. Dave has every right to defend his suits and is obviously not hiding from the debate. Witch makes me more inclined to think of him before some other big company that could really give a f*ck. Personally I would rather support the little guy than the big guy. Hell maybe I might be able to help him with opinions and such to make his product better. Witch in the end will benefit me and any other person who ends up buying his suits. Not that I do track days or race but if I do in the future Spartan will be the first place I look. Besides he is a helpful SVR member and I will always support someone who helps out people with the respect they deserve.

I don't do track days but have heard that 1 gen Sv's are good track bikes. As Lizard said the parts are stupid cheap and available. Plus from what I understand it is a great bike to grow into. It's more forgiving than some from what I understand. About the maintenance it would all depend on how mechanically inclined you are to choose between 1 gen (carbed) and 2 gen (FI). They both are very reliable either way. Good luck with you choice and racing.

How would you know what someone else would be happy with? Just because the SV didn't fit your needs/wants doesn't mean it won't be what someone else wants. I am happy with mine and plan on keeping it for as long as possible. You just jumped the gun when you bought the bike instead of actually researching the bike that would fit your needs best.

I ride everywhere I can in fair weather. Usually every couple days I will take a cruise down Girdled, Cascade when it was open, Hermitage and some other little roads in the area. Concord has some nice road to cut through to get to Burton and Middlefield. I have some friends out that way I like to go visit once and a while. But basically I just kind of wander with no particular location in mind. Just out to ride for the ride.
