  1. Here is what it looks like: here is what some editors thought of it: http://www.amadirectlink.com/riding/reviews/2006/FZ1/FZ1.asp
  2. don't fall in love too fast.
  3. 536 is scary, every time i've been on it. not cause of gravel or grass (and you do see that every once in a while) but cause it's scary hard and scary fun
  4. mmm rx-7's... i was heading home on my 600rr after a weeked at beaverun on a sunday night, and one guy in a very fancy RX7 (the vanity plate told me it was a "JDM RX7"... right hand drive and everything) was getting on the ramp to 271 from 8, and he got on it like he was going to lose me and there is a very slight kink where the road kind of shifts over just a bit somewhere along the on-ramp and he panic braked like crazy. i thought i was going to see his special JDM mazda brakes light up but no such luck. love the cars. wouldn't spend the time or the money for one, but they're nice nonetheless.
  5. love to go, but i cannot has have fun! i might try to go to bluegrass instead though... lulz
  6. have you considered a used FZ1? comfy, corners well, can seat 2 people easily, and that liter I4 can haul you and anyone else around quite handily. enthusiasm for new bike aside, if you're going to be hurting because of this, I wouldn't do it. It's always better to save up the money first so that if you find the right buyer and find the right replacement bike, you'll be ready to make the move, and you won't be upside down on your toy. whatever you decide, good luck!
  7. nah, we just bought too many nikes and fake rolexes on credit lulululululululululululululz
  8. but in mother america, china owns youuuuu! seriously, they own us.
  9. keeping your vision as far down the road as possible is a great exercise... it helps you look for cops, look for brake lights, and friendly high beam warning flashes. it comes in handy for riding the bike around twisties, too. too bad i am fail at both... sad face
  10. for a brand new helmet, i like a tight fit, just barely edging on uncomfortable. i haven't bought that many helmets, but from my short experience, the padding breaks in just enough where if it's just a tiny bit too tight from the get go, it breaks in and makes it just right. for example: my second helmet (HJC something or other full face) was a large and it felt very comfortable, almost verging on just a hair loose. After I wore it for a while, it broke in and was starting to bounce around just a bit which is too much. A few helmets later, i picked up a medium arai vector and it fit just a hair too tight, and a few rides later, it is perfect. obviously, it shouldn't be so tight it actually hurts your head to wear (that's a distraction)... but it shouldn't be so loose it starts moving around on you (bouncing vision... a worse distraction). good luck and go try on lots of helmets.
  11. i'd like to know how it compares to the Z4M i test drove. you need to go test drive one real quick and let me know what you think. STAT
  12. i like my OGK, but i'm also a fan of arai. err.. suomy, then
  13. i might go for an hour or two to get some food if i'm not too busy.
  14. did you get to drive the TT-S? I always wondered if it was worth what it cost.
  15. i got my bt016's for 215 shipped. cost installed is a whole different matter, so i'd say not a bad deal for the tires unless you do your own tire changes. i've been told a lot of people think the 916 style (this includes 916, 748, 996, 998) bikes are not very comfortable at all. It's plenty comfy when you're riding twisties. also, i've done a couple trips from mentor to canton, ride twisties, and back, and it was about the same as any other sport bike (including my rsvr and 600rr). you should definitely sit on one in any case... the seating position is definitely interesting.
  16. don't let this discourage you... they're a lot nicer when you ride with them. well, some of them never ride, but the ones you do meet on a ride are good people.
  17. why are we arguing quarter mile times? sportbikes are far from being about straight line speed. yeah, they go fast, but the fun is in the corners. and watching some of the guys ride on Buell's of one kind or another whether it be a 1125r, xb9, xb12, HP means jack shit in the corners. i'm regularly a witness to xb9's dusting guys on liter I4's. give it up with the horse power crap already.
  18. either do a search on every kawi forum you can find (and put in a WTB ad), look at salvage yards, or see if newer bikes have a compatible starter and buy a used one of those... in either case, i'd start by finding the part number and part number of all compatible starters. it'll make searches a lot easier.
  19. this isn't just obama, obviously. i'm sure every president, vp, senator, rep., etc etc etc has used tax payer money to go on a "date" or vacation or whatever the fuck else. regardless of the person, it's irritating as hell to have anyone who is "committed" to cutting the fat out of government spending (and they ALL say they are) and turn around moments later to do this sort of thing. what about him paying for the show tickets and dinner? What is that? Like, $500? if even that? have you tried to go rent a couple planes for you and your entourage lately? I could go buy a duc or two for the cost. the worst part is, air force one is ALWAYS there for his exclusive use and it is part of the budget year after year. But instead of that, he rented a couple private jets. doesn't anyone remember the crying and bitching when the big three's corporate high ups were traveling via private jets instead of normal flights while their companies were going down in flames? hypocrisy should always be noted.
  20. happy birthday you sexy bitch!
  21. wait, your friend rode it into a wall? did you ride his mom into a wood chipper for great justice?
  22. i thought there was a link that you could search the classified sections of motorcycle forums. i've been trying to find it again. otherwise, don't forget newenough (just got a pair of vertigo corsa's for less than 300) and ron ayer's site has some deals in their outlet store occasionally.
  23. you guys are kidding, right?
  24. i actually really wanted to see you guys do your thing on those sexy roads, but I have to do family things that saturday. i'm gonna keep my eyes open on the sumo forum you gave me the link to. You weren't kidding when you said there are tons of bikes there!
  25. i think sumo's only look sexy after riding bikes for a couple years. and they are certainly that.
