i wouldnt be too concerned about track bikes as long as you know the guy who used it and you trust that person (or you know and trust the guy telling you about the seller). however, yeah, that's kinda few and far between.

the primary point of what i was trying to get at is not the fact that i'm willing to help you out in a crunch, but that the things that occur on here, while troublesome to my sensitive sensibilities, do not overtly affect my view points on you as a human being in the real world. did i think less of you after some of the things you said overall? sure. but enough to make me hate your face to the point where i would leave you in a ditch? nah.

I think if you were in a bind, I'd still help you out. That doesn't stop me from being 90% asshole to you on some of these topics where we strongly differ in opinion.

i'm still not clear on how you crash-landed, but would you say a dedicated back protector would've helped prevent the injury to your spine? did you have a back protector of any kind in your gear?
