see, so you agree with me. personally speaking, if i did even 1% of my work from my home PC in a given year (and i do about 10%), i've more than made up for what i have into it in terms of dollars spent vs earned. now, like what you're saying: you just like the immersion, level of detail, the "full" experience, or playing multiplayer with friends, whatever... those are all things one can't put a dollar value on. i'll be the last person to really make any jabs about a hobby (if i added up what i spend on bikes, guns, track days and racing, i'd shit a gold brick). my point was about playing on the cheap... and for me, playing on the pc IS cheaper because all the costs i have into the computer build and games and whatever is wiped out by the amount i've earned by doing work from it. my PS3 doesn't do anything to put bread on the table but my PC does.

again, if ALL you do with a PC is gaming, then absolutely makes no sense unless you do an extreme budget build, buy used, etc. a low end system will still push out the same shitty graphics as console. if you're like the rest of the world, where your pc does a lot of other things like act as a home media server, you use it for home office, porn server, etc etc etc, i am right, you are wrong, i are winrar

My return from vacationing in boston is getting hairy (due to conditions at the shop, since everything goes to hell when I'm gone for more than 3 hours), so I'll post up with updates on what happens. If the worst happens and I don't get shit figured out before tomorrow morning, just enjoy the trip without me. As of now, I'm still determined to make it. I'll keep y'all apprised.

Just cause you have a gazillion dollars invested into a rapidly depreciating item doesn't mean the rest of us do. Also, one can do a lot of things on ones pc that one can't do with their ps3 or Xbox (or insert future console here). Cost gets subsidized into that. If ALL you do with a pc is play games, then yeah, it's pretty pricey. Personally, I use my computer for work first, and play games second (at best).

Pc gaming is generally better looking/faster/cheaper than console. End thread.

Ok ok it's Monday morning, leaving before 10am, at Dairy Queen/marathon on 77 and 212 in bolivar.

I think we have room for 2 in trailer and vehicle. We should be swinging through cbus sometime Thursday late morning or early afternoon. Not sure what things are gonna cost, we will just split accordingly as we fill up. Return trip will be leave cabins Sunday morning.
