  1. I have only done the ride the past two years. The first year someone went down but it was caused by a cage. He didn't get hurt and rode the bike back. Last year it was raining for half of the run and no one went down. I think the "rectum" factor has changed since I have been riding with this group. For some reason he has been okay with me being out front so things have been tamed down. I'm only riding an old completely stock 600 so high speeds are not where I ride. I guess I don't ride slowly but I don't take chances when I feel responsible for others following me. If someone with a 1000 should decide to take off up front I'm sure he would go after them but if I won’t follow at least the main group should stay safer. I understand how easy it is for people to get sucked into ramping it up when someone starts riding aggressively and that it feeds upon itself which usually leads to all the bad stuff you’re referring to. I try to ride fast enough to keep people from being bored but I don't take chances that would suck others into danger.
  2. I case anyone is interested. First bikes out for the fun run is 12:00 Sunday. I am going to try to be there at about 11:30.
  3. I also prefer a one day trip. I am open for Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather. I don't mind getting caught in the rain but I'm not going out in it on purpose. If you end up making it Sunday the jinx will want to come along.
  4. From Lorain to the river and back is seven hours of riding plus lunch and gas. I have done it in a day more than once. From Zanesville to the river taking 555 it's about 55 minutes to an hour. You might consider 83 down to 60 since I understand your aversion to 60. If you do this ride on Saturday the jinx can't ride along because he will be working. (Might be a safer trip)
  5. The very one, on 800 September 2007(riding with me and the jinx), finally put back together. Only to discover that modern 1000s can outrun his bike, boohoo!
  6. I forgot about the damn gas mileage, holy shit does it suck down the gas. That was the only complaint I had about it. Tameness yes, slow no. It might feel tame but the bike is completely stock and I pulled a friends piped(full system), power commanded and tuned ZX12r multiple times.
  7. It's really simple from where you're at. 301 south, it takes you to 60, take 60 to 555. If you don't mind I might be able to tag along. I won't be getting a room though, down and back for me.
  8. The fun run is different every year I think it's about 100 miles. I got there early last year and programmed the route into my GPS but I have since deleted it. I can find out when the first bikes go out tomorrow from our favorite salesman at Kennedys. Free food at Kennedys then on to QSL is a plan. I agree with you about how QSL can be boring if people aren't going out for a ride sometime that night. I even go out and follow the stunters when they go out for entertainment. Justin, I know about where you live but not exactly. I think the cluster homes Vortac is living in is in your development. I live in a development on the other side of Abbey. Regrettably the 10 went back last night and I will miss it. I don't think I should have ridden it as much as I did because now I have to have one. The motor seems tamer than the 2006, the brakes are better and the handling is way better. If he will let this bike go cheap enough when he gets the 2010 it’s all mine.
  9. For the new guy. There is a fun run out of On The Edge this Sunday. http://www.ontheedgehonda-suzuki.com/event_calendar.asp Thursdays at Kennedys they have a cookout, free food. http://www.kennedyscycles.com/ Both places are close to you. Looking at your pictures in your other thread it looks like you might be very close to JRMMiii.
  10. Well seeing as your new, here is the start of where I get into the park from Elyria. (South side. From the north probably Rocky River. http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=41.406099,-81.891771&z=15&t=h&hl=en
  11. Kevin is correct the speed limit for the majority of Valley Parkway is 30, with a few areas at 35. Here is the road. http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=41.3108,-81.616526&z=15&t=h&hl=en
  12. That sure is a bunch of Busas. It appears that the second generation has increased the size of participation. I think the size of the group was getting smaller until they updated the bike.
  13. I could be really wrong about the number. I was trying to concentrate on the road. There was another bike that turned onto the read just as we made it to the end to turn around. We let him go for a while and tried to see if we could catch him before it ended. It's really a fun road that apparently more people know about than I thought. It's not long enough to be a destination road but worth doing if your in the area.
  14. If we would have had more time we would have tried to find him. If that bike made it all the way out there from North Ridgeville I would be surprised. I was thinking it would have been more local to that area. I would like to try my track bike on the road some time but don't think I would take that chance.
  15. I was luck enough to have access to a 2008 ZX10R for a few days. I lent my bike to an old friend who hasn't had a street bike for a few years and we went riding through the metro park Sunday afternoon somewhere around 4 to 6pm. We started in North Olmsted just off Cedar point road and rode east to Riverview. Just east of Brecksville road there is a road named Meadows drive. We rode it north until it ended, turned around to go back to Valley parkway when half way back a track bike passed us going the other way. Who was it? Is it someone from here? It was a yellow plate and I think the number was 155 but not sure. The ZX10R is a monster. Wow, are 1000s fun to ride!
  16. I no longer have the Busa, it was totaled at Mid-Ohio August of 2006. My current street bike is a torture rack ZX6RR that I wouldn't even think about riding down there with.
  17. Cool picture, I rode down and am in the 2005 spring bash picture. Phillips Motel offers a lot of entertainment after the riding is done for the night. Rode down for the fall bash that year also but didn't make the group picture. I went riding.
  18. "even if he is a somewhat confused ex-Marine " The confused was a cross thread contamination. Try to keep up with your own posts. Can't you find a way to get the trailer beside your garage?
  19. +1 on regrets been there done that more than once. I bought a 6 x 12 last year for $5,100. I had a perfectly good 8-1/2 x 20 a few years ago, I figured I'd never need a trailer again. Don't do it, find an outdoor storage space to keep it at if it's in your way. But I understand it's kind of hard pulling a trailer with one of them there foreign cars. Or am I just confused!
  20. Just because his political opinions are all kind of wrong doesn't mean he shouldn't have the ability to protect himself or his children.
  21. Wally world, three boxes just waiting for you. See ya tomorrow maybe.
  22. If anyone is interested I have 400 rounds of new 45AUTO I will trade for 400 rounds of new 9MM and $50. Local only I aint shipping
  23. The walmart on Chestnut had two boxes last night about 11:00. It was the only thing they had left for handgun ammo. I stop in there a couple time a week looking for ammo if they have some the next time I'm there I'll pick some up for you if you don't find any.
  24. Looks like a great start. How did you establish the length of the thread that goes into the suppressor? Can I assume that the end of the adaptor buts up against a shoulder in the suppressor just like the barrel would if the adapter wasn't necessary? How do you plan to finish the adaptor? Aluminum might be another material to look at because you can have it anodized without having to compensate for any thickness. Your barrel has a shoulder? Would the suppressor or adapter stop on the end of the barrel or the shoulder?
  25. Damn, damn, damn, I went out and rode Friday night and my bike quit running. That track is bumpy. I had a cracked tray in the sub frame (from a previous of track excursion) that my power commander sat on. It has been cracked for a long time; I have been to Blackhawk, Road America and Mid-Ohio with it in that condition. Well it disintegrated and allowed the power commander to get burned up on my exhaust. That was the end of my night. I never got up to speed because of traffic, so now I understand what flounder was eluding to. Part of it was my fault for not being able to get around traffic. I went there with my Mid-Ohio gearing not expecting to really run hard because I was going to run Mid-Ohio Sunday and was just too lazy to change them. Well I got caught behind a Ducati triple 9 that just kept pulling me on the straights and killing my momentum into 1 and 12. I never established any reference markers because I was following him. He was really a nice guy as I spoke to him just before leaving and his bike is beautiful. I really like the atmosphere out there and it’s nice to be able to show up on Friday night, pay and go riding. I have been running without a steering damper but really need one if I am going to continue running out there. Anyone have a power commander for a 2005 CBR600RR they want to sell?
