  1. I'm closer to deciding to go, however I've told Inya earlier that I really didn't want to ride to Zanesville by myself. Does anyone else want to go down from up here?
  2. Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I went to the track day at Mid-Ohio last night. I fall down go boom. I'm okay just sore and my neck hurts. I'm surprised the guys haven't started making fun of me yet in the other thread. I know it's late to make plans but honestly right now I'm 50/50 on going. Give me a few more hours if you can. I will know 100% no later than 9:00 tonight possibly by 7:00. If we need to meet farther east to accommodate John that’s fine with me but that would probably have us taking the highway down to Zanesville instead of 83 and 60. If I do go my plans were to leave from Circle K at 82 & 83 at 9:00 AM. Meet Inya and his crew in Zanesville at 11:30 at the gas station that is southeast of the 70 & 60 exchange.
  3. Hey KTMRIDER welcome aboard. That's how to break in a new rider. Get a new bike on Friday, out riding with a large group of sport bikes Sunday. It looked to me like you were with the pack whenever I checked for you. I was concerned about you riding with this group after I told you about the ride, looks like for nothing. I knew you could ride after I took you and your brother down 60 last year with the demo bikes but large group riding is somewhat different. Sorry about some of the passes on 83. It would have been impossible to find a clean place for fourteen bikes to pass. If we would have all stayed behind a car doing 45 mph trust me more stupid things would have happened. I love me some tall sexy things.
  4. I heard about the guy passing on the right when we got back but I didn't know who it was. I know him, he is a good kid though somewhat misguided. I will talk to him about it, it won't happen again when he is riding with me. He usually rides with the stunters and that is acceptable behavior with them. I know because I follow them sometimes for entertainment. The kid has talent and wants to learn. He has improved his riding the past year, I'm pretty sure he will calm it down for the opportunity to learn something because he is that kind of kid. RVT, I've not meet you yet but do you happen to live on Burns by the college? I have seen a bike parked there and I wouldn't think there are too many of them in town. If it's not you I'm sure you would know who it is.
  5. I just signed up five minutes ago so I'm in. I was told when I called to sign up that we could get in at 2:00 PM and riding started at 4:30 PM. SBT site has riding starting at 4:00 PM on one page and 4:30 PM on another, what gives? Isn't it just one group? Why do they ask you if you’re intermediate or advanced? I haven't been there since September and I haven't ridden with SBT in two years. Hope to meet some new people and have some fun. I have a 3000w generator that I can share with someone who needs power. I’ll be driving a black Trailblazer pulling a black trailer.
  6. Pedophile oh damn, I was going for the careless caregiver look. I've suffered years of the guys giving me shit about having a baby seat on the back of my bike. I finally gave them one. The baby was my idea but the goggles weren’t nice touch though. Yea, the jinx is broken. He tried to ramp it up twice but I didn't follow. (It’s hard not to do.) One guy did the first time he went out front and I have no idea why the other guys didn't go out but I'm glad they didn't. I rode faster than usual in the straight stuff trying to keep it to a sane pace. If it looks like it's going to get boring someone will try to ramp it up and then all hell breaks loose. Thankfully it was just jinx doing it because if someone else would have he for sure would have obliged them. I had a good time, meet a few new guys and discovered a new road. 604 was fun. This was the most boring route that I've been on but it worked out well. (No one hurt.) It's hard not to see a few WTF moments with a group that big I think there were fourteen bikes in our group. Now do you know what the fun run is? Kind of hard to describe isn't it? Was it what you thought it would be?
  7. Everyone home okay? Nice ride, no one went down in our group! Thats a good day.
  8. I haven't heard from him. I am meeting a friend who just got a KTM Friday. Circle K on 301 by the brass pole 11:00 - 11:15.
  9. Crap, I just got back from on the edge. I talked to Dale and they don't have the route yet. The lazy ass Jessie won't be in until 10:30 with it. I probably won't have the route programmed in the GPS this year. I hate trying to read a piece of paper taped to the gas tank. Maybe Kevin can bring his easel along and draw it out for us. Yes, project baby with goggles is complete. Now the baby needs a name. I haven’t tested it yet at speed, I hope it stays along for the ride.
  10. I can't say what the cost will be this year but it has been $5.00 in the past. Free t-shirt and food plus a chance for door prizes just like Kevin said. I won a Goldwing cover last year. Expect the weather not to get above 60. Fuck you guys, I just got back from Wally world with the last piece I needed for my extensive luggage set. (You will all have to wait to see it.)
  11. I will be there by 11:30. If any one of you guys want to ride in the group I'm in it's cool with me but I'm not picking teams. I know what he was doing when he was passing everyone and what I was doing are two different things but the effect on those being passed is the same, just a matter of perspective. The ride is similar to most rides we have been on except there is more high speed stuff. It is not at all like following the stunters for 100 miles.
  12. I wasn't looking for a reply because I was anticipating this turning into something not productive. Your post was an honest reply and I do agree with you, fucking with people you are on a ride with is not cool and I would tell him so. Is he an angel? Hell no, I have seen him do things I don’t like and have told him about it. He is a full grown man and can take it. When we were on 60 last year I stopped to make a turn clear to everyone. After everyone was through I buzzed the whole group to get back up front. Was I fucking with people doing that? (I know that’s not what he was doing but the effect is still the same) It was not my intention, I was trying to get back up front because I knew the roads, turn offs and dangerous spots. I can see how it might have made some people nervous and I need to address that ahead of time from now on. Possibly telling people ahead of time that it’s something that might happen or designate someone else to stop and show others a turn that is questionable. I will not be meeting at his place and hope to see you there.
  13. I need to set something straight. Rectum = jinx = the friend who gave me access to his ZX10R. He is a friend of mine and I will be riding with him on the fun run. I'm sorry if others experience with him has been negative but I have had a different experience. He has not sucked me into doing something stupid or anything else I don't want to do. I have been on rides with him that people have gone down on but I don't see how any of the accidents were his fault. I can think of four off of the top of my head and three of those I can guarantee the rider will take full responsibility and not blame him. I don't know the fourth person so I can't speak for him. I was leading all four of these rides. I was kind of leading a ride last year with a dozen or so people from here. No one went down and the pace up front was not much different than when he is riding along. Someone could have just as easily gone down on that ride, it happens. I have not asked Udell if he thought the jinx was responsible for his accident but from my understanding of what happened I don't see how he could be blamed for it. He was behind Udell when he went down, others go down behind him how he gets blamed is something I can’t comprehend. I know it seems like he is present when carnage happens but I have never seen him touch another rider, run them off the road or be close to someone when they have gone down. He does have a reputation of being a fast rider and people might be riding over their heads to keep up with him but how is he responsible for that. I am not looking for a reply to this I just wanted to set the record straight because me calling him the jinx is all in fun. I don’t hold him responsible for others actions. I don’t want it to seem like I am disrespecting a friend. Anyone else who I consider a friend should expect the same loyalty.
  14. I stopped in today to see if they have made this year's route out yet. They haven't and don't plan on it until tomorrow afternoon. I will try to get there early Sunday so I can have time to program the route into my GPS. Knowing where the turns are ahead of time helps to keep it from turning into a cluster fuck. People lose their spot when half of the group makes the turn and all hell breaks loose when people are passing each other trying to get the spot back they think they deserve. Read the PACE if you have a chance, reread it if you haven't for some time. You will very rarely see my brake light because I don't use them much except for entering 10, 15 or 25mph turns. Between turns on 55mph back roads I try to stay about 70mph or so to keep from charging into them. People seem to get in over their heads trying to figure out how fast to enter a turn or how much to brake. I'm not saying we don't go over 70mph in fact we usually are by the time we come out of the turns. Triple digits are seen but it's not the overall theme of how I ride. All of our bikes are capable of going fast so what. I would rather ride inside my ability all day that have to wait for a life flight. That usually makes the whole day suck.
  15. I have only done the ride the past two years. The first year someone went down but it was caused by a cage. He didn't get hurt and rode the bike back. Last year it was raining for half of the run and no one went down. I think the "rectum" factor has changed since I have been riding with this group. For some reason he has been okay with me being out front so things have been tamed down. I'm only riding an old completely stock 600 so high speeds are not where I ride. I guess I don't ride slowly but I don't take chances when I feel responsible for others following me. If someone with a 1000 should decide to take off up front I'm sure he would go after them but if I won’t follow at least the main group should stay safer. I understand how easy it is for people to get sucked into ramping it up when someone starts riding aggressively and that it feeds upon itself which usually leads to all the bad stuff you’re referring to. I try to ride fast enough to keep people from being bored but I don't take chances that would suck others into danger.
  16. I case anyone is interested. First bikes out for the fun run is 12:00 Sunday. I am going to try to be there at about 11:30.
  17. I also prefer a one day trip. I am open for Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather. I don't mind getting caught in the rain but I'm not going out in it on purpose. If you end up making it Sunday the jinx will want to come along.
  18. From Lorain to the river and back is seven hours of riding plus lunch and gas. I have done it in a day more than once. From Zanesville to the river taking 555 it's about 55 minutes to an hour. You might consider 83 down to 60 since I understand your aversion to 60. If you do this ride on Saturday the jinx can't ride along because he will be working. (Might be a safer trip)
  19. The very one, on 800 September 2007(riding with me and the jinx), finally put back together. Only to discover that modern 1000s can outrun his bike, boohoo!
  20. I forgot about the damn gas mileage, holy shit does it suck down the gas. That was the only complaint I had about it. Tameness yes, slow no. It might feel tame but the bike is completely stock and I pulled a friends piped(full system), power commanded and tuned ZX12r multiple times.
  21. It's really simple from where you're at. 301 south, it takes you to 60, take 60 to 555. If you don't mind I might be able to tag along. I won't be getting a room though, down and back for me.
  22. The fun run is different every year I think it's about 100 miles. I got there early last year and programmed the route into my GPS but I have since deleted it. I can find out when the first bikes go out tomorrow from our favorite salesman at Kennedys. Free food at Kennedys then on to QSL is a plan. I agree with you about how QSL can be boring if people aren't going out for a ride sometime that night. I even go out and follow the stunters when they go out for entertainment. Justin, I know about where you live but not exactly. I think the cluster homes Vortac is living in is in your development. I live in a development on the other side of Abbey. Regrettably the 10 went back last night and I will miss it. I don't think I should have ridden it as much as I did because now I have to have one. The motor seems tamer than the 2006, the brakes are better and the handling is way better. If he will let this bike go cheap enough when he gets the 2010 it’s all mine.
  23. For the new guy. There is a fun run out of On The Edge this Sunday. http://www.ontheedgehonda-suzuki.com/event_calendar.asp Thursdays at Kennedys they have a cookout, free food. http://www.kennedyscycles.com/ Both places are close to you. Looking at your pictures in your other thread it looks like you might be very close to JRMMiii.
  24. Well seeing as your new, here is the start of where I get into the park from Elyria. (South side. From the north probably Rocky River. http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=41.406099,-81.891771&z=15&t=h&hl=en
