Sorry about not answering Adam, you should have left a message especially when it was that important, I would have been glad to help in any way possible. I had a friend from high school staying with me and we were talking with some other friends when you called because it was a reunion weekend. Udell did text me some time later & I offered to go get her & the bike with my trailer. I hope this doesn't discourage her, she seemed like she wanted to learn how to ride. 90 MPH passing cars, up blind hills, doing wheelies......... that sounds just like that bunch, bad news all of them. You should have asked me about riding with them I would have told you to stay away, no good could come of it.

Your price point seems unrealistic based on your labor especially if you are going to hand lay the job. The material may be cheap but warehousing and processing it will add to the cost at an unknown factor since you don't know what process will be needed to make things work. Not that it couldn't be done but how green is it if you have to shred or grind it plus add an additional chemical to make it process. Let's assume the materials are free and you are going to make six different body panels per bike by hand. How much time do you think you would have involved in that process? How much is your labor worth per hour? Now store your inventory and make sure to pay the tax man. At $600 a set you aren't making money, plus we haven’t addressed the environmental issues with controlling the fumes from your process and depending on how legal you want to be in the manufacturing process adhering to the E.P.A. guidelines is expensive. You have really gotten away from being green if you factor in all the manufacturing process adds to the project.

First impression is, yes this is crazy but more information is needed to verify that assumption. Are you trying to make fiberglass motorcycle body panels to compete with racing plastics or imported knock off plastic panels? What price point are you trying to get to and what are your anticipated volumes? How much start up money are you willing to risk to bring a product to market? I have knowledge of tooling, injection molding, compression molding and bringing products to market. The answers to the questions above will help point you in the most appropriate direction.

Aren't you tired from last weekend? I just went to look at the youtube videos and now I know why you can ride a street bike so well. I always wanted to try dirt track riding do you still have any bikes for it?
-
No, no, mean... mean as a rattle snake.

I thought SUVs could keep up with sport bikes right Parks?

Rob, you didn't make it down to the tail end of 83, it goes almost to the river, you stopped at 78.

Home safe, 459 miles, 11 hours 8 minutes. I had a great day and will reply more after I eat. Just look at it like a passing exercise. Please try to make as many passes as possible on the left; this may not always be your best option because the more Harley riders there are in one place the worse they behave.

Oh great a rolling road block and an actual road block this should be interesting. Make sure everyone brings cash to pay the toll. I wouldn't be surprised if that trailer was still across 260 by the way it looked when we were down there. Looks like the chances for rain along the route increased overnight. Sunday doesn't look any better. There is a big storm in Chicago headed our way but it might dissipate before it gets here. I am still going to attempt this ride today. If I don't get out today I don't get to ride again for almost a month so I'm going to pack some rain gear now and go out any way.

Amish buggies. Freshly paved roads are very slick you should find a way to ride the old roads.
-
More good news from Jinx, he has told the local and state police bike units about the charity ride for fallen officers Saturday morning and they will all be there so we can thank him for the police escort.
-
I'm expecting back at 7:00PM mostly because it probably won't be just three or four bikes.
-
Saturday is a go; we will be leaving the CircleK at 8:00 AM for the 450 mile loop. The only thing that has changed in the weather report is that rain was added for 8:00 AM Sunday morning but the rest of the route is clear. I don't want to leave in the rain Sunday morning or delay the start time Sunday until the weather clears because that might put us in rain around the Marietta area or home after dark. I would rather take the chance of getting rained on during the ride back in Saturday night.
-
I would avoid the boring straight, flat ride to Millersburg if I could so meeting us there isn't a problem. With that being said I have given my best guess of when we will be there but I am not committing to any timing other than when we pull out of the first meeting spot, we don't have time to make two meeting spots. After we get to the Marathon on 39 and everyone fuels up we are leaving so if it is anyone’s intention to meet up with us there be there no later than 9:10AM. You might have to wait for us but if you get there later than 9:30 you might miss us and still need to get gas for yourself. I would expect to see several riders in full leathers.
-
For everyone that plans to meet up in Millersburg the gas stop is not the usual meeting spot. This meeting spot is the Marathon station on 39 west of 83. We will not be going past the Speedway on 83 in town until the return trip. More good news Jinx has got the Cleveland scooter club to ride along with us.
-
9:10AM give or take a few, depending on several factors. Jinx has texted me also about the ride being gone from the Marietta area before the rain hits so we could have all day without rain unlike the chance to get rained on Saturday the last hour. Right now it's still Saturday for me but we'll see as the weather forecast gets updated. I will lead a ride Saturday and Tpoppa will lead one Sunday that should fix this dilemma.
-
Right now I see the rain issue making this ride for me to be a Saturday ride. Looking at Cleveland, Zanesville and Marietta's hourly forecast for Saturday Cleveland has rain starting at 7:00PM, Zanesville rain at 9:00PM and Marietta at midnight. Sunday is clear for Cleveland and Zanesville but Marietta has rain at 4:00PM. Saturday looks like a better solution even if we get rained on the last hour getting home. The last 60 miles is all straight anyway. Riding Sunday if there is rain in the Marietta area means rain on the good roads. Right now I'm still on for Saturday. I will reevaluate this later today and make a call then. Does anyone else have some other logic to put towards this decision?
-
Don't be so quick, right now I am seeing some rain issues we might be riding Sunday. I will make the call by 7:00 PM Friday night unless others need to know of a date change sooner.
-
Don't have a clue, maybe 10 to 30? Latest Jinx update, he has now convinced the Amish to cruise 260 all day in their buggies.
-
I have ridden with guys on Goldwings, BMW LTs, Fat Boys and Warriors who all had no problem keeping up with this pace. They were not normal riders and in general most non sport bike riders wouldn't enjoy this group. If you ride a non sport bike and enjoy keeping up with sport bikes by all means come along.

He has to work Saturday and is having a fit about a ride planned. Hassle him as much as you can he deserves it. Besides even if it does rain Saturday he won't go on the whole 450 mile ride Sunday, the big sissy.
