Can you recommend a place on this site where a layed back rider can post with out a bunch of riders who know more than me just leave me alone and talk to other riders and I mean just talk... Check this out...... The mileage was on a little two cycle scooter...amazing. If you can name a place on this site that you think I might like let me know....as you say the kids like pics and trust me ..I have plenty. 15. Ok all I know is west of Covington KY on RT 8 there is gravel on the road..one of our Yamaha XS1100 riders went down wednsday..leg broken in two places, broken collar bone and ten broken ribs.Still in ICU at University Hospital till tuesday due to bruised lungs.Send prayers or vibes his way thanks...
  16. Be gone awhile..Chicago,LA New Orleans and then back to Cincinnati...all by train,Amtrak.
  17. I have seen a couple of trailers loose their wheel,(18 wheeler) while on the interstate..very dangerous. All of our wheels were painted white so if a lug became loose it would show a little rust. I lost a wheel once, didn't even know it,still had seven left on the trailer with a light load...but cb chatter got me alerted. It rolled across the interstate and landed near a truck stop...I was thankful no one hit it. After that I always kept a close eye on the wheel lugs and that was back in '79..to this day I have not forgotten that lesson.
  18. When backing watch trailer wheels and not body, they show true direction of where it is going,if confussed on which way to turn wheel while backing grab bottom of steering wheel with right hand and turn direction you want trailer to go and do smooth turns, cars or pickups turn very quickly. Try to always back into your driveway from the street, you have whole street to swing cab around and not just a skinney driveway plus when pulling out you can see the road much better and not back out into that oncoming bike:D
  19. Started with the Prince thing:D but then I started waxing and haven't got the wax on wax off firgured out yet and went to bare metal,my cat Amtrak doesn't care one way or another;)
  20. Well we old UJM riders have a Purple Toe Contest....Here are the rules we live by... How to play: If you ride a motorcycle on a day when the temp is at 32 degrees or lower, you score points. Each degree from 32 down to whatever is worth 5 points. For example, at 32 you would get five points, 31 you get ten points, 30 you get 15 and so on. If you choose to ride on ice or snow, you are a complete nutbag and will not receive anything extra for being that crazy. No "windchill" temps, only the real temperature. One mile or a hundred, doesn't matter. Only one ride counts per day. (you can't run inside, warm up, then go back out and expect it to count) Post here each day you hit the road at, or below freezing. (or whenever, we trust you not to cheat) While I will try to keep up with the points best I can, unfortunately I will have less time to keep up with the game this year. Ultimately YOU are responsible for keeping track of your total points. I will try to update the score every day. (...but if it takes a couple days don't get your panties in a wad) No leaving the house at 11:59 and returning after midnight to get two days in. Fairings are allowed. Heated/electric gear is allowed. Non-UJM's are allowed. Dual sports are allowed as long as the ride in question was done on the street. Dirtbikes, lawnmowers, cars, trucks, tractors, airplanes, speedboats, Pwc's, R.V.'s, Atv's, battery powered kids toys and any other vehicle that IS NOT a street driven motorcycle is not allowed. While I know many of you feel the need to cheat, at least try to stick with the spirit of the game. At the very least, think about what everyone else is doing and try to do what's fair. Remember: If you die from hypothermia, you are automatically disqualified, so bundle up. Starts: December 1st. Ends: April 1st. (no coincidence there, huh) The winner will be announced April 4th. So what do you win for freezing you're test sickle's off? The much coveted and sought after "Golden Ice Cube Tray"! (the tray is golden, not the ice ) You will get to keep (and proudly display) the "Golden Ice Cube Tray". (Kind of like the America's Cup, only more worthless) F : : C : : POINTS 32 : : 0 : : 5 31 : : -1 : : 10 30 : : -1 : : 15 29 : : -2 : : 20 28 : : -2 : : 25 27 : : -3 : : 30 26 : : -3 : : 35 25 : : -4 : : 40 24 : : -4 : : 45 23 : : -5 : : 50 22 : : -6 : : 55 21 : : -6 : : 60 20 : : -7 : : 65 19 : : -7 : : 70 18 : : -8 : : 75 17 : : -8 : : 80 16 : : -9 : : 85 15 : : -9 : : 90 14 : : -10 : : 95 13 : : -11 : : 100 12 : : -11 : : 105 11 : : -12 : : 110 10 : : -12 : : 115 9 : : -13 : : 120 8 : : -13 : : 125 7 : : -14 : : 130 6 : : -14 : : 135 5 : : -15 : : 140 4 : : -16 : : 145 3 : : -16 : : 150 2 : : -17 : : 155 1 : : -17 : : 160 0 : : -18 : : 165 -1 : : -18 : : 170 -2 : : -19 : : 175 -3 : : -19 : : 180 -4 : : -20 : : 185 -5 : : -21 : : 190 -6 : : -21 : : 195 -7 : : -22 : : 200 -8 : : -22 : : 205 -9 : : -23 : : 210 -10 : : -23 : : 215 -11 : : -24 : : 220 -12 : : -24 : : 225 -13 : : -25 : : 230 -14 : : -26 : : 235 -15 : : -26 : : 240 -16 : : -27 : : 245 -17 : : -27 : : 250 -18 : : -28 : : 255 -19 : : -28 : : 260 -20 : : -29 : : 265 -21 : : -29 : : 270 -22 : : -30 : : 275 -23 : : -31 : : 280 -24 : : -31 : : 285 -25 : : -32 : : 290 -26 : : -32 : : 295 -27 : : -33 : : 300 -28 : : -33 : : 305 -29 : : -34 : : 310 -30 : : -34 : : 315 -31 : : -35 : : 320 -32 : : -36 : : 325 -33 : : -36 : : 330 -34 : : -37 : : 335 -35 : : -37 : : 340 -36 : : -38 : : 345 -37 : : -38 : : 350 -38 : : -39 : : 355 -39 : : -39 : : 360 -40 : : -40 : : 365 Standard Disclaimer This contest is meant for educational purposes only.
