Sooooooo. Lets totally overlook the amount of impact a 737 or what the planes were would make on a structure that tall and how it would weaken the structure. The ither things is unless your happy ass was in that building taking temp readings you can only guess how hot it was or any other specifics for that matter....... All i know is our president was willing to let 30 people die and not do anything....... Yeah..... Rims are powder coated mostly. A much more durable than a cleared surface.... On used fairings that need redone it wouldnt be a bad idea and a inexpensive fix but not perfect ones that you may wanna go back to original. Not so good......

Just from a painters stand point i wouldnt do it..... Never seen something that was put over a finish that didnt damage it in some way. If this stuff can just be "peeled off" its not gonna stay and will look like crap after a period of time. Moisture will work in that void if its not actually adhered to the surface. Guess the only thing is its a cheap fix when it does go south.......

Its probably no different than just paint......... Make sure the surfaces are well cleaned and scuffed. Should stick just as good. I did a accord hood with rattle can primer and power washed it all that summer..... Never came off. Its all in how well prep the surfaces are.....
