there's no s-video? i've never heard of or used USB-to-Video but wouldnt be shocked if something like that was out there. if not, looks like you get to buy yourself some nice new christmas presents FTW!

you'll need either an RCA cable, DVI cable, AVI cable, HDMI cable, or S-video cable, depending on what outputs your laptop has and what inputs your TV has. /end smartass. sorry. most likely your laptop will have an S-video and DVI/Analog cable output. if it's a newer laptop, it'll probably have an HDMI output, which will save you the sarcastic responses to "which audio cable to I need" :-P

glad someone else has done that. seriously, there's DVD's (maybe blu-rays?) out that basically show you repeating scenes with, say someone in a white shirt and you adjust the contrast until you can see the maximum detail in the white. black suit adjust brightness, colors, etc. usually darker than ppl are used to, but you miss a lot of detail with the store-style "vivid" settings.
