Actually, karma is a Hindu concept, so he'd be standing before Ganesh, and even then he wouldn't be going to Hell (a Christian concept) but would be reincarnated instead.

Nothing "claimed" about it, there was no conspiracy or collusion or whatever. There was no ninja inmate who managed to slip through undetected and stage the perfect crime. He was in solitary but not on suicide watch, and he managed to do the deed in the 30 minute window that he had between guard rounds. Even if he hadn't killed himself, there is no way in hell this guy would have ever seen genpop. Ever. My guess is his lawyers. There had to have been something given from the State to avoid a trial, and I'd imagine that was it. As always, well said.

One of you mugs buy this, it's a damn nice cruiser.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the timing chain work be moot if you're going to do a engine swap? I'd imagine the newer engine already has a working timing belt/chain. That being said, what's the going rate for a newer engine for that car? Have you priced them out? What's their hourly labor rate?

This has been in my guest bedroom for a few months now, and it's time to get it out of there. Pics are on CL page (sorry, I'm lazy). OR price is $125. http://columbus.craigslist.org/ele/3995716289.html Speakers are labeled Yambeka, however the company that made them also makes Fluance which aren't half bad. For a budget system, you can certainly do worse. When I re-did my living room, I just didn't want to deal with re-running a bunch of cables, finding room for the receiver, stuff like that. Offers/trades will be accepted, power tools (miter saw) or a small workbench would be nice.

Nice Kenwood In-dash Nav, Sub W/box + Amp, Mazda 3 Dash Kit+ Trailer Hitch
Cheech replied to JStump's topic in Other Stuff
Let me guess, Ridgeville? I stand corrected on that HU. After thinking about it, I really don't need/want the satnav functionality, as my phone already does that well. Good luck to you, stumpy. -

No, I want the BT/phone integration (which for that HU is apparently not Android-centric. I'm really, really annoyed that my S3 can't do something as simple as pipe a call through the aux cable, instead it ignores the nice and powerful car speakers and uses it's own speakerphone. I'm casually shopping for a newer car, and it's one of the things I'm looking at. -

Indeed it is, it would keep me from buying a new car. -
From doing moto escort 2 years ago, I can tell you that the engine idle speed on a 03 600RR is approximately 8MPH. Good on you and the rest of the volunteers and riders. Given travel schedules, I hope to be there next year.

I'm confused. You want to do the work but you don't want to touch anyone's car but yours?

It's a Scion xB, all I really want done is some stains taken out of the drivers seat and for the upholstery to be steam hit and freshened up a little bit. I'd rather one of you mugs get my money than some guy on CL.

Anyone know a guy? The Cheechmobile is getting a little older, and I don't think the interior has had a proper cleaning in quite a while. I can take it to them, although it'd be awesome if they'd come to me over a weekend. I park in a parking garage downtown, so I think that part's probably out.

This at bare minimum. If he balks, he has to realize that there were costs involved with you schlepping the bike down there, and that since he passed on it he is still responsible for those costs. If I'm placing a wager, I'm guessing he's going to pass on this and you'll never hear from him again. If you insist on making the trek without this, then be prepared for a sob story or some other thing that "comes up" that he'll want to knock the price down further. It's easy to get wrapped up in the "neighborly" ethos of CL, the reality is you're making a business transaction and you should make sure your costs are covered accordingly, especially when the seller wants you to go over and above. Hell, when I bought my 600RR (from here, not from CL, same principle applies) I managed to secure a van to drive down to WV, never asked the sellers for a thing. If this guy is willing to spend $2000 for a toy, he can't either come up with an extra $100 to secure a trunk/van, or even draft one of his friends for free to drive him up so he can ride back home?

Nice Gump, you might get some bites on this.

If you wanted an echo chamber, go post on freerepublic. As to the point of Rolling Stone being "irrelevant", it was Matt Taibbi who really started to bring to light the length and breadth of the bullshit that caused (and continues to aggravate) the financial crisis, and trying to bring some accountability to light on it. For that, he should have fucking schools named after him. Bottom line, this has been done before, and from multiple publishers as John pointed out. Last I looked this is still a free country, so if you don't like the cover, don't buy the magazine.

Had A Chat With A "military Collector" Wearing Uniform In Public
Cheech replied to chevysoldier's topic in Dumpster
My thoughts exactly. If your argument is distilled to "disrespectful", then I wouldn't have been surprised if the kid told you to go fuck yourself. Everyone doesn't share your same system of values, and unless the kid was attempting to actively gain something from wearing the uniform (badly), I don't see what the problem was other than some dude that I don't know following me into a bathroom to sternly lecture me on my choice of clothing. -
Can you get Skechers in steel-toe?
-
Time to resurrect this. Just switched jobs and started today, it appears I'll be visiting some far-off manufacturing plants and am in need of some steel-toe boots. I'm going to be on my feet a TON and living out of hotel rooms, so comfort is paramount. I went through this thread again and hit up some of the links, but since my original qualifications were for a hiking boot that didn't necessarily have a steel toe, I imagine this changes things a little. Any new ideas?

I can't speak for the range, but I use a North Face Surge backpack, has a waist strap, sternum strap, laptop sleeve and have worn it on the bike with no problems. This bag has been around the world with me, and I'd buy it all over again if given the choice.

Got-damn right.

I don't doubt your experience, however that doesn't excuse you from painting with a broad brush. I think Scruit summed things up pretty well, as always.

Or someplace that they can get responsible, competent 24-hour care if they need it. Please, feel free to continue your raging.

There are two sides to every story, and I want to hear the daughter's before I decide where to place my internet fury.

Mine didn't cover injuries, but then I could have just been cheeping out on coverage.
