  1. Holding out for DNA/dental evidence until I'm ready to call it.
  2. Now THAT's bringing the funnay. I had a good hearty laugh at that statement, and a decent guffaw at the rest.
  3. His "behind the scenes" stuff was exposing the corruption of the LAPD, which, I believe, is a ball that he's successfully put in motion, for better or for worse. Don't equate my observation of his intentions as sympathy for the sum total of his actions, because it's not. However, these things happened, ON BOTH SIDES, and now BOTH SIDES must be held to account. You really can't gnash your teeth over the death of a innocent woman who's only crime was being the daughter of a LAPD captain, and yet fail to mention the attempted murder of 2 completely innocent people.
  4. Because the LAPD will throw just as many resources as they did to find Dorner into intentionally obfuscating the truth about what happened, from Dorner's original claims, to the shooting of the innocent women, to the assault on the cabin. This basically amounts to the airing of the LAPD's dirty laundry, and the department's going to try to pull the line in as fast as possible. Someone with a still-functioning investigative journalism team is going to break this open, and I'll be first in line cheering when they do.
  5. I'd say he planned just fine. He's exposed the behind-the-scenes stuff of the LAPD, as was his intention. I don't think he even dreamed that 2 LAPD cops would open fire on 2 defenseless, completely innocent women, and on top of that, completely skirting due process in burning down the cabin he was in. Something tells me there's a massive shitstorm brewing in LA if those cops that shot the women aren't behind bars, and soon. Qualified immunity be damned, just because you are ordained by the State to carry a badge and a gun doesn't give you unqualified authority to open fire at will on innocent civilians. Take, for example, the incident in Ottawa Hills in 2010 where a cop pulled over a guy for reasons that he basically made up afterwards, then used the excuse that he was "reaching for a weapon" (which the jury also didn't believe) and shot him once in the back, paralyzing him for life. That cop got 10 years for felonious assault 2 YEARS ago, but remains free on bond while he appeals his verdict.
  6. The amount of hand-wringing you people engage in over such a broad and academic concept such as "patriotism" never ceases to amaze and entertain me. It just seems to be a neverending dick-measuring contest over who loves America more, who's the most jingoistic, who can recite the Pledge of Allegiance, all that stuff.
  7. obvious troll is obvious still, make with the digits stumpy
  8. You will have an entire subcontinent pissed off if you attempt to pull badminton. China/Korea(s)/SE Asia takes that shit SERIOUSLY. Still, I'm not one to hold on to tradition for tradition's sake, but I really can't come up with a convincing reason to eliminate a sport that's been with the Olympics since the original. I heard on NPR that the pentathlon was also rumored to be on the block, but it just so happens that one of the guys on the IOC board that voted for wrestling had a kid who was a pentathlete, so that wasn't going to happen. In the board that voted for the removal, there was not a single American, and not a single country that won gold in that event.
  9. I gotta go with this right here. Think of all the little things you can do with $80 instead of pissing it away to a bank. I'm on the same "wait and see" program with my tax refund, it'll come, just wait it out. There's no good, logical, fiscally responsible reason why you need to shell out that money in loans for a bike you might get to ride once or twice before the weather starts breaking.
  10. Abrams, please don't fuck this up. Also, for fuck's sake, ease up on the lens flare a bit will ya?
  11. I wonder how many issues they have that say "the Moller SkyCar is the next big thing and only less than 10 years away!"
  12. Only thing I can guess is that they saw the blue pickup and thought they had something going? No idea.
  13. Or your're jealous that a 13-year-old has a better phone than you, so he automatically couldn't have earned that. I got news for you bub, not everyone shares the same "bootstrappy" values system as you do.
  14. I don't know, I don't have any kids. That's not the point. You're not the grand arbiter of what is "sufficient" to warrant such a present, that's up to the individual parents to decide. It's douches like you that see something shiny and expensive in the hands of a 13-year-old and immediately pipe up with "well that kid couldn't have deserved that!"
  15. So being able to afford nice things for your kids is now frowned upon? Also, since when did giving nice things to your kids and spending time with them become mutually exclusive? If I have a kid and I feel that he/she has earned a iPhone for doing something that went above and beyond, and it's within my budgetary resources to buy said iPhone, then my kid's getting an iPhone.
  16. The best you could find was from a Kat 600? My (limited) understanding of stretching the swingarm would lead me to believe there was even MORE force on the rear shock as the center of gravity becomes all fuckered with the wheel all the way out there. I would have found something that could handle more weight and was smoother, like that of a Busa. You probably already know this, but it bears repeating: Once plasma cutter touches swingarm, there is a 99.5% probability that you will never, ever, sell that bike. If you're fine with that, and are willing to take this hobby and inevitable money pit for what it is, then that's fine, you're a big boy and can make your own decisions. I'm also not discounting you finding some poser with more money than brains that'll buy it off you, but that's a RARE find. As far as the engineering of cutting and welding the swingarm goes, I'm sure there are plenty of welders on here that can give you more qualified advice than I can. It's one thing to be able to weld a water-tight box, and quite another to weld a swingarm that's going to stay rigid and not flex at 80MPH with 200lbs of rider on top.
  17. I agree. She was close enough as SoS, I think she's done. I think Biden might make a run, and we'll see how that turns out. The next 4 policy years should be interesting.
  18. Cheech

    Squid time!

Thinking that my noob self on a 600 Katana could keep up with 8-9 other guys on bikes ranging from Honda 959s to a Duc 1098, 80% of them in full leathers, running the normal route to Coshocton that I've never been on before. Ask one of the Columbus regulars about Cheech's Corner on 79N in Newark. Don't be that guy.
  19. I take my cream puffs assault-style.
  20. why don't we just have the next M+G at a gun store, that seems to be the general direction anyway
