hummm...I can see where this is going and we're not going to agree.
Most beautiful porsche ever: 917
Most Beautiful road car 910...closely followed by Carrera GT
Car that most captures the essence of Porsche: Older 911 RSR's and IROC 911's.
hummm...I must be doing something wrong at Nelson 'cause I think it's relatively easy on brakes compared to most tracks. I guess maybe you have to have motor to need those brakes!!!
and where are the pics?
Good looking car. I really like it when they're cleanly done like yours. But I have to ask...why is the rear low (where it looks right) and the front soo high? Get that nose of the car down another 20-30mm and it'll be fantastic.
I think it's $130 this year.
I'd flush the brake fluid and make sure you've got pleanty of pad...that's about all you need until you start to progress.
+1 on Thorne taking the canopy (I normally have to lug it up there)...I"m gonna try to fit 4 wheels and tires in the 996 for the drive, no worries I'll take pictures of that feat.
Ha...I know the owner of that car (Tim) and it's a super nice car and absolutely stunning with the stance and wheels. But despite those cars being pretty quick for the day the 4 cylinder turbo versions like that one are only 215 hp to start out with and >3000lbs...his doesn't make too much more than the stock HP rating either. I'd still love to own one however.

We're talking used cars here not new right?
Lots of other makes that don't hold their value nearly as well as Honda does that make a quality product that can be had for much less. If you're already doing less now for more later there are choices out there that can get you in a 1-2 yr old used sedan that's still got warranty and is more in the 10-15K range for a nice daily as opposed to spending 20-25K. that's 10K more towards the 'vette right off the bat.
Erik,
Good to see the car is nearly completed. As Chris stated, get a few weeks of sorting done on the street then bring it to Nelson on 6/20. I'm taking the lowely 295hp car that day to putt around the track with.

Still not sure my schedule is gonna permit this...but question on the car exhibition. We'll all be grouped together correct?, and is the exhibition area indoors at the convention center or outdoors?
Sadly I think the Porsche is closest to show ready dispite being on track just over a week ago...and I've probably got 5+ hours worth of prep work to make it ready for public eyes to see.
Looking good...Dare I say I like the S4 wheels better than your other wheels.
but anything's better than the 15' snows I'm rocking right now because I bent one of my Sportec's.
Ouch...sorry to hear about that and man that f'd up the bike good. I really miss tracking bikes...but I don't miss the crashing and injuries part. This is a reminder on why I stick to 4 wheels on the track now.
Andy
Wife's daily is the red car.
My daily is the M3 when we don't have to detail.
I try to only drive the A4 on crappy days or days we detail....too many years of 20K+ miles per on that bad boy.
Andy
Ha...I appreciate the offer. The mufflers were the first thing to go back on the car after Mid Ohio. It now looks like this again.

Thankfully they're only used as track pipes because even I cringe then I see them. Nobody the whole Porsche Club weekend commented on them though. I think that's becuase I kept a respectable enough pace for nobody to poke fun. Pleanty of those guys got to see them after I passed them though! I've gotta get Tinman to make me a better cheap solution for future track days.
Andy
Kinda embarassing too. I think I"m going to get a couple of mandrel (sp?) bent 90's from Jegs to make them a bit less hideous for upcoming track events. Mufflers are already back on there for street use however.
