  1. apparently no takers for something I'd actually show up to watch or participate in...even though my red car makes a whopping 245 to the wheels! Nelson April 18th?...I'll have the 3600lb heavy white car out that day. Andy
  2. hummm...I really really like them white the way they come. While the black doesn't look bad it disturbs the flow of the front of the car for me and brings too much attention to them. just my .02
  3. Maybe my A4 is a rarity...but I bought it at 57K miles...now has 160K on the clock and other than regularly scheduled maintenance and wear items I've rarely ever had any issues: In 5 years I've owned it here's the only things I can think of that have failed: 1 failed coilpack $50 1 front engine mount $60 1 spark control module $300 1 transmission gear sensor $75 1 diverter valve $40 1 S-belt tensioner $90 Maybe it's the front drive that's not nearly as hard on parts as the Quattro cars? I had Derek check the front end last year when it was alligned to see if anything needed replaced and all was still good. Now I'll admit that the dash lights up like a christmas tree with lights due to an accident that has caused the Air bag module to go bad, and the front glass is broken but none of that I consider to be Audi's fault. Andy
  4. I stand corrected. my apologies.
  5. I think the 2.8 is a chain not a belt....and it's not called for until 100K so it's probably right around the corner.
  6. Nope...R1R it's a "street" tire with a 140 treadwear rating supposedly designed as a cheater tire for auto-x classes that require a minimum treadwear rating. I wanted to put these on the 996 as a street tire but they don't make a big enough rear. http://www.toyo.com/docs/tires/tires.asp?lpid=30251&name=Proxes%20R1R™&category=sport I'm running R888's on the 996 (as track tires)
  7. A few others to consider: Dunlop just released a new tire called the Direzza Sport Z1. It's been getting really good review. Toyo also just released Their new R1-R but I"m not sure they have 18' fitment yet. Then there's always the good old Kumho MX. They're getting a bit old in the technology department and are getting outclassed by some of the newer tires...but for the money it's still a hard performance tire to beat. MrAutoX already pointed out the Bridgestone RE-01 but they're not going to be much cheaper than a PS2 Yokohama advan AD07 is in the same boat...great but not really any cheaper than the PS2. Andy
  8. Frog???...or another turbo car?
  9. The white on red combo is outstanding. Congrats on the new ride.
  10. Car looks outstanding...but get those microfibers off of the ground!!!!!!!!!!! Andy
  11. I agree it's a great looking car...however it's too similar to an M3 in both form and function for me to ever choose it over an M3. Andy
  12. This thread has really started the week off the right way.
  13. Call Derek (TurboRust) Downtown @ NTB. My cars are about as low as it gets and they take extra care in getting them on a rack without doing any damage. You won't be disappointed. Andy
  14. I really want to sign up for this date but I signed up for a BMWCCA school last year around that same time and we were running in the snow the whole day which was pretty miserable. decisions, decisions. Andy
  15. I think my wife's been hanging out there alot then....
  16. All, Glad this has sparked some interest. I say when it gets warm enough we have a couple of impromptu (sp?) Saturday morning trial runs with this and if it looks like it may catch on then we can change things up as needed. Again since it's early enough on a Saturday I'd bet we can gather just about anywhere prior to business' opening as long as we're not disrupting their early morning customers. I'm sure there are endless spots that we could go without being in the way of anything until car counts start to grow (if it gets to that point). Andy
  17. Pretty sure I turned into that old guy a few years ago!
  18. Has anyone tried to organize a cars and coffee type of event in Columbus before? Basically they're informal, weekly meets of car guys and cool cars early saturday mornings. obviously they work better in warm climates but I really like the idea and wonder if it could work in Columbus. Platform: Saturday morning from 7am - 9am at a designated location (since most business are not open at this hour it makes things easier). Great way to start off the day, catch up with buddies, catch a caffine beverage of choice and admire nice cars. At 9am it's done and everyone goes about whatever they have to get done on their Saturday. I realize CR has the parking lot reserved @ Quaker Steak at nights so maybe this is redundant???...but could involve a larger audience in a laid back setting. examples: http://carsandcoffee.info/main.html http://crystalcovecarshow.blogspot.com/ Andy
  19. Ben...when do I get to detail THAT interior?

  21. Brake fluid flush. Otherwise if it's your first time just make sure you've got pleanty of consumables under the car (pads, rotors, tires) and you'll be fine.
  22. Bump to see if there are any new updates on this?
  23. Mid Ohio Region - http://www.morpca.org There's 3 other regions in Ohio too if you're shoppoing around for track days. -Northern Ohio http://www.norpca.org -Eastern Buckeye -Ohio Valley
