  1. Nice Purchase. I'm not going to argue with the quality of the APR product or ECS tuning as they're an outsanding shop as well...BUT when considering your software needs the two people at the top of the VAG tuning fields are APR and GIAC. When you can get local support for the GIAC @ Auto Assets in Powell I'm not sure why you'd go with anyone else. Granted I'm buddies with those guys to take this as you will but I was a customer long before I was friends with them and my first purchase decision when I got my A4 was between APR and GIAC for the tune and I went with GIAC for the simple reason that I could go over to Powell if I ran into any problems. While ECS isn't far away...it's far enough if you're having software issues with your car. my .02 Andy
  2. Paint it yellow and the HS nickname will come back out in force!
  3. Havn't sold a car in 6 years. Trying to buy back a couple I sold in the past and missed. Guess I just get attached.

  5. Welcome. Nice rides and it's also nice to see an intro that's well put together. Andy
  6. gosh...all of these posts and no Audi love?...the B5 series cars are still one of the best looking sedans on the road today. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u298/pimpjettay2k/Columbus%20Racing%20Rolling%20Pictures/CRRollingPictures109copy.jpg
  7. +1...I was thinking the same thing. Kevin, let us know what you'd want to put a few of the Origionals on a CD that could be blown up to poster size and printed. Funny thing is...I keep looking at the M3 pictures the most...reminds me why I don't think I'll ever get rid of that car! Andy
  8. Kevin, Again, the pictures are amazing. I'm particularly taken back by these two where you went a little crazy with tweaking the color balance for the sky...they're simply amazing. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u298/pimpjettay2k/Columbus%20Racing%20Rolling%20Pictures/CRRollingPictures145-1copy.jpg http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u298/pimpjettay2k/Columbus%20Racing%20Rolling%20Pictures/CRRollingPictures008copy.jpg
  9. free bump...I recently detailed this car and it's absolutely bad-ass...and now it's spotless as well. Someone needs to give this car a good home. Andy
  10. Staying in...can't stand crowds of distracted people!
  11. +1 E36 325is, it's a great starting point...I've thought many times about finding one and making a track rat out of it so that I can actually drive like I want to instead of leaving time on the table because I know that I have to drive my car home. There's a guy that's a regular at Nelson that's got a nice, quick reliable 325is that he's probably got $5k in all said and done...E30's are suprisingly not much cheaper and the E36 is a better platform. As for 150mph...my GSXR-1000 might have been close...the 996 and M3 only make it to 135ish...a $4k car won't do it. (in most cases)...and if it does you better hope you spent half of that 4K on brakes once you obtain that speed. Most importantly...if you're going to build something and intend on racing it at some point start out with a rule book for that particular class so that you can modify according to the rules and don't have to re-do work down the road. Andy
  12. I was really hoping there was some magic insight here about rotational weight vs. performance and also the effect of chassis balance based upon rake etc... oh well....thanks for the input guys. Andy
  13. I'm curious to see the research behind GM using 17 inch wheels in the front and 18' wheels on the rear of their cars. Can anyone explain this to me or point me towards the rational that GM used when picking wheel / tire sizes? Thanks. Andy
  14. Did someone say camber? -3.5 front, -2.2 rear. However I do back off the front to approx. -2 for street driving. track: http://www.m3forum.net/gallery/data/522/Hero1.jpg street: http://www.m3forum.net/gallery/data/522/Picture_022.jpg

+1...I've seen this car a couple of times in the Lewis Center area...it's a car that makes me turn my head and stop in my tracks every time I see it. Any paint or body history other than the aftermarket wing and hood? For reference...what was the camera car for the video? Andy
  16. Here's a good one I saw recently...and it's in Ohio if this is a "Must Have" for anyone. ...crap link won't work unless you guys are members, Here's the description: 1975 Ford Pinto Runabout 2.3l 3 speed auto 7,600 actual miles So nice its Museum Quality!! Asking $8,500 send a PM for more info and better Pics
  17. Trance and Techno is the only music that keeps me going on a treadmill...Metal seems to do it for a couple of minutes but then I loose interest.
  18. Sticker doesn't even mean much on that car...used ones are still going over MSRP...it's just a suggested starting point I suppose.
  19. High Speed (Rotary) Buffers are a dangerous step if you're not properly trained and have decent experience under your belt...it's not rocket science but it does take some time to get the feel for it. I was detailing for several years and went to an official Meguiars training class before I even thought about using a Rotary on a customer's cars. I still would rather use an orbital time permitting...but there are many instances where a Rotary is necessary for big jobs. I've been using the same Dewalt unit for the last few years...it's kinda heavy and doesn't go below 1000rpm for finishing work like some of the really high end rotaries but does it's job very well for what it costs. Feel free to PM me about this topic if you've got additional questions. Andy
  20. 18K front springs!...you sure that's not a misprint (8K maybe?)...that's like 1005 lbs /in....I thought that I was a little on the edge running 900lb springs on the street...I bow down to you sir if you're running over 1000 lb springs on the street! Andy
  21. Take it from someone who's gone from fast in a straight line to slower but does EVERYTHING well...you'll get much more enjoyment out of the car that stops, goes around corners, etc...esp on a daily basis. If it were me the list would not have the cobra on it...but might have some even slower cars that do everything better in the cobra's place for consideration. Andy
