I just saw a red one w/ cowl hood on lunch, good looking truck and I've always been a fan...To the owner of said truck: What exactly did you expect me to do in my 150hp Audi when you took off? Andy
-
Impressive. Don't feel bad about the now numbers...I had surgery in my left shoulder 2 1/2 years ago and then had a nasty case of burcitus in my right shoulder this year from March until August...I can barely bench my own body weight now! Andy
-
DAMN...sorry to hear about that. Did you get my PM about cleaning off that gear oil from the paint?
-
go with bearings...or start driving like Grandma

For someone who dispises the fact that I watch as much NASCAR as I do...you sure do know alot about it!
-
It was a regular 997 Turbo...The origional article listed the purchase price of the car in european currancy which some articles then calculated directly into US currancy...problem is due to the weak US dollar Porsche sells cars here at less than what the direct conversion of Euro to Dollar would be so the pricing info given wasn't exactly accurate.

'cept for Montoya who was already very good at bumping in F1 and is working on perfecting this talent in NASCAR...he clearly understands the bumping principal as shown in one of his first outings in Mexico City where he dumped Pruett (his team mate no less) for the win! If you can't beat 'em......

When it comes to auto racing My first love is road racing...esp production car classes and grass roots efforts, then motorcycle road racing, BUT I have watched NASCAR for over 20 years now....We can bitch all we want about overexposure compared to the other series that we all love...but watching racing of any sort > most of the other programming on TV. I think that if you get even somewhat interested in NASCAR that it has a bit of a soap-opera effect to where you almost have to tune into the next installment of the series to see how story lines progress. Andy p.s....what do you guys think of this look for the Porsche? http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/budporsche.jpg

Sick of Porsche's or Sick of PCA members...can't see ever getting sick of the cars...however PCA members are a whole other topic. oh...and free bump. Andy

Thanks Draco and everyone else for the kind words on the work that was done...yes it's pretty new but I've yet to meet a car, even a new one, that can't use a little love to make it look even better! Draco was an awesome host and great person to do work for...and his car is top notch. Andy

Could be worse...at least his old ass isn't rocking out his sports car @ 55mph, in the left lane holding up traffic.

There are many good cars mentioned here...and you have to be almost stupid to argue against the C5 ZO6 or C6 ZO6...but I"ll throw another option out there. Porsche 996 Twin Turbo? '01's are showing up in the high 50's to low 60's now depending on mileage...and with only a chip and exhaust they will make 400-425 at the wheels and drive like stock when not in the boost. The turbo / GT3 / GT2 all use the same "GT1" engine block configuration. Look at Cavin's car it's making >700 whp with the same stock bottom end that comes in the regular Turbo cars. Just a thought. Clark, Between a broken camera and my inability to decide what I want for a new camera I don't have many recent pictures of my work. Here's a couple of old threads showing off what I can do. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39307 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36733 I'd be honor'd if you'd hand out cards...Shoot me a PM and I'll find a way to get some in your hands if the offer still stands. -Andy

Small Technicality...nobody spells it like that anywhere other than in Spain...well except that stupid birth control pill.

Dan it was our pleasure. I hope you enjoy! Anthony...my wife read that comment...and laughed.

I know the owner of that benz...and have to say while it's not my taste it is at least well put together. Andy

Jamie, Congrats on the new ride. I was hoping to see it be a "frogger" GT3 RS though. Andy

A powerslide isn't an indicator of chasis balance. I can take any understeering, plowing pig of a RWD car and if it's got enough power you can induce throttle-on oversteer...it's just a flashy way to go slow around a turn. Andy

Like I said...little things here and there but I still managed to do the job myself...it was the origional s-Belt that should have been replaced long before 135k miles. ABS module would not have been an isssue if the car wasn't hit but some un-insured ASS. I'd rock a B6 or B7 A4...but every time I try to find a reason to replace the current A4 I can't do it.

http://www.audiworld.com for more information than you'll ever want. Board format sucks but it's a great resource. http://www.audizine.com is an OK source as well...not as good technical info as Audiworld though. As stated...Count on needing to do control arms. I think the 2.8's had a timing chain not belt and it was 100k ish when it needed to be replaced which is spendy. My 1.8T A4 has been very pain free for the 5+ years and 150K+ miles that I've owned it...Sure every car will have little things here and there but it's been a real pleasure owning my A4. I've been happy enough with it to where if / when it gets replaced it will be replaced with a newer A4. Andy

Classy quote. Gents...look past the cladding that's been added to the car and when you start to analize it very closely there's lots of garbage that's been added to skew the eye when looking at the test cars out there. When you start to analyze it very closely you can see hints of what's being covered up and where the true lines will really come out in the car. The rear wing is obnoxious but like in the past the wing will fully retract at <70mph and can be disabled for those who don't like it's looks. I think the car will come very close to looking like these renderings that were released some time ago...and if you look closely at the test photos you can see that it will likely be the case. I think it has the potential to be a very good looking sedan and will come close to Posche's goals of trying to keep much of the origional 911 shape and morph it into a 4 door sedan. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/post-9-1176468323.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/post-9-1176468287.jpg

One last tip to help you along. Not sure what polish you intend to use but try the least agressive method first to get the marks out....i.e. start with an agressive compound or polish first and see if you can get the marks out before doing further sanding...after all the scotchbrite pad is basically like sanding in the first place so you may be able to take out the markings with just an agressive compound. If that doesn't work, it may make things easier on you if you can find 2000 and 3000 (or 2500) paper locally (either in place of or following the 1500 grit) as polishing out the sanding marks will be much easier if you finish twith the finer paper.
