I still need to do this but I've had no time...at least not during normal operating hours for you guys. However I have new fun bits coming this week that will require the car to be alligned once they're on so you'll see it soon enough.

I used purple Power degreaser cut 1:1 with water on the wheel wells, then scrubbed with a soap/water solution. On the wheels...if they don't get cleaned regularly on the insides there may be some stubborn residue that won't come off. I saturate the dry inner wheel with EagelOne wheel cleaner and let it dwell for 30-60 seconds and then scrub with a soap / water solution. Andy

They're ALL the wife's ...Actually she usually drives the 996 and I like the M3 more as a day to day car over the Porsche. I think alot of that has to do with the color. If I had things my way the 996 would be white or silver. Andy

Most of our (including myself) regular washing routeins don't always address every area of the car. It's alwasy nice to take some time once or twice a year to address these areas. Makes it a little less messy when working on the car too. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/suspension1.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/suspension2.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/suspension3.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/suspension4.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/wheel1.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/wheel2.jpg

The Detailing "truck": http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_1347-1.jpg and the two on the left. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/Picture070-1.jpg

Both actually. If there's not adequate lighting indoors where I'm working I'd much rather do all of the work outside other then the polishing work. I also bring sun-friendly polishes in the event that I'm forced to do everything outside. Andy

I too had a Small Block S-10 back in the day. Slammed to the ground (4/6 drop) and running on a 10' tire mounted to 16' Trans-am GTA wheels...the truck looked like something out of Mini-truckin magazine and nothing quick but would run high 11's on the spray. This was circa '95-'97 so it was pleanty quick to hold it's own at that point in time. On top of everything it was my only mode of transportation as well. Fun times...man I'm getting old. Andy

I have a soft spot for Porsche's and exotics...PM me with what you've got in mind.

$0.47 cents in the ash tray but I found a quarter when I vacuum'd the car out yesterday so now I've got $0.72 cents IN the car. Andy

Looking good man. Couldn't have asked for a better weather this past weekend. NASA runs the pro-course and not the club-course configuration? Andy

Thanks for the compliments guys. Torch & Dirty, GM's late model clear is some of the hardest stuff that I've come across yet but it's always a fun challenge. For services and pricing my site is now up at it's new domain. Click on services at the top and you'll get the full rundown. http://www.andymobiledetail.com Andy

Derek's car was a bit easier than Dave's and turned out beautifully. Before: Not really that bad to start off with but there were some dealer-installed buffer trails and holograms in the paint that needed some attention. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/d1.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/d2.jpg Afters: http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/d3.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/d4.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/d5.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/d6.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/d8.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/d7.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/d10.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/d9.jpg Andy

While Dave's car was challenging it was one of the more entertaining cars I've done yet this year. As he stated he origionally purchased this car as a parts car and the paint was badly in need of attention. Before: http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/dave9.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/dave5.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/dave6.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/dave7.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/dave8.jpg Afters: (excuse the poor light as it was pretty late when I finished up.) It's not showroom new but it's much much better. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/dave4.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/dave3.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/dave2.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/dave1.jpg Andy

After the disaster that was Forza on speed (though I'll admit I watched every episode) I'm hoping for good things from Setup. After the first episode I'm still up in the air on if this is going to be a disappointment or not. It's got the makings of being a great show were little known talent can show their ability to not only drive but also tune a car properly and get the most out of what is essentially a "spec" car for the show. However if they play up all of the drama rather than focusing on talent it could turn out to be another Forza.

Yes. I work downtown as well and he's a great asset anywhere but being downtown makes it that much easier. Derek's name on here is TurboRust. I've had several allignments done already this year (including setting up camber plates etc.) without any issues...and they managed to get my Audi onto the allignment rack without incident and that car won't even clear the small lip that oil change bays have on their pits when it's on the snow tires. Andy

Take it to Derek downtown @ NTB...yes it's a chain but he's great to work with even if you're finiky and have special requests like I do. You will have no worries with him. Andy

Been following the GT2 build on 6speed...I have to say that it's a very nicely done car, and quite a nice solution for a "compromise" car. Andy
-
To those existing customers I appreciate all of the support and apologize for the domain change. I'll be getting new business cards printed in the next few weeks with updated information on them and get them to anyone who needs new ones. Slots for April and May are filling up quicker than last season so please call me if you're interested in getting some work scheduled. Please visit my site at it's new domain: http://www.andymobiledetail.com

You sure it's an "is"? I thought all of the "is" (sport cars) came with the sport mesh wheels and a bigger, body color'd front spiler with fogs in it? (like this: http://www.ackthud.net/325is/index.html) More pictures of the car to further show condition would be great. Andy

Been there...done that...never been the same physically since. In good time you'll find that you are able to regain a good amount of strength. I was never really big but I've found that I can comfortably lift about 80% of what I used to be able to do without straining and causing any increased exposure of further damage. However even to this day Abdominal exercizes are not pleasant so I usually just avoid them. Andy

Actually white M3's (x2) including my brothers car.... Truckin: Derek is def. the man for the job. No worries in having them set things up the way you want and he's always great to deal with. Andy

Trying to break the tire machine again?...hopefully my tires are a little less painful to install. Even though you've already made your decision I'll back it up...I had a set of Nitto 455's on my CRX and a set of 555's on our 325 and never really cared for either set. Andy

Black FD, XBOARDR or something like that?
AudiOn19s replied to Science Abuse's topic in Passing Lane
I've seen the car. If you've seen this hood once you don't forget it.
