  1. Tom, Thank you for the kind words. It's not a chore at all to work on cars that are cared for...and at the same time that people are not afraid to enjoy either (rubber in the rear fender wells). Unfortunatly My camera battery was dead and I got no pictures...but if you did not get any I'd be willing to stop out sometime this week and snap a couple for myself. I've been meaning to get my website updated and would love to have pictures of your car on it. Enjoy, and thanks again for the kind words. Andy
  2. It's sick to even think that the best car I have for mileage is the A4...which still manages to only get about 17-18 mpg on average...that car loggs over 20K miles a year.
  3. Def. get that sky sealed as soon as possible. Just go really thin with the Zaino on Black. I usually apply it with an orbital and a finishing pad to get thin and even coverage and it helps with the streaking. Clean up any remaining streaking with a Z6 wipedown and you should be good to go. Andy
  4. I might know a guy for the job...got a call into him. Otherwise call Auto Assets 614-793-1050 and talk to Matt...they should at least be able to do it cheaper than the dealer...by how much I don't know. Andy
  5. one coat of Z2...one coat of Z8 with Z6 to clean everything up. The end result is great...but working with Zaino on black is a test of patients sometimes due to streaking, esp. when it's humid....Luckily on white you don't see any of these headaches. Andy
  6. Had the pleasure of working on Chris's new ride last night. Chris, PM me your work e-mail and let me know if you can accept large files and I'll send the full size photos over to you. Enjoy. http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/tb4.jpg http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/tb9.jpg http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/tb6.jpg http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/tb11.jpg http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/tb5.jpg
  7. Anthony and others...thanks for the kind words. Andy
  8. Yup...that's the car...GT3 badges...11 inch wide wheels (Ironically they were SSR GT3's like yours) in the rear with offsets for a turbo that didn't fit in the fenders of his car and rubbed BADLY, and he even took Porsche Crests and glued them (no joke) to the front fenders like Ferrari does with their badges becasue he thought that was cool. Ahhh...I could go on and on...
  9. Nope...I think I know the car you're talking about though...I looked at it but it was a really ratty piece that was not well cared for and eventually was sold on E-bay out of state. My impression is that I now have the only red Aero 996 in town I've only had the 996 since May....and frankly usually my wife drives it...I prefer the M3 until I get some more serious suspension under the 996...then it becomes my track toy. Andy
  10. Nice...my old man an a 2002 when I was young...been a BMW guy ever since. The 2002 on the cover of this month's Roundel is to die for. Andy
  11. Welcome...nice ride...but I want to see pictures of the 2002!!! Andy
  12. That actually made me laugh out loud at my desk...needed that as it's been a crappy day in the office. Andy
  13. Random cool shot from the drive home last night just playing around with the camera... http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/moving1.jpg
  14. http://www.andyzainodetail.com Havn't updated it since January...got some really cool cars to put on there...Barely have time to keep the house clean at this point...let alone work on the web site unfortunatly. Andy
  15. As always...a pleasure hanging out with DJ and cleaning up his car. I'll have the rest of the photos up on my site in their full resolution soon. 17. We did tile this past weekend too...did our entry and a backsplash in the Kitchen. The worst part is I too have the bathroom's to go...I hated every minute of it. The end result is rewarding but a huge pain getting there. I'm too cheap to pay anyone to do something that I know I'm capable of doing. How was the laminet compared to the tile...got any pictures. That's our next project. Andy
  18. Had to laugh about the club owner comment....long story there. He's right about Miami humidity...it's miserable..better yet try Puerto Rico in the summer. We make 3-4 trips a year to Puerto Rico and the ones in the summer are miserable...I eat fried food all week and still manage to loose weight!! I need to get to Vegas...been wanting to go for a few years...this only makes it worse. Andy
  19. Can't wait to get my hands on that bad boy!
  20. I used the old Z5 for awhile, but while they state it has filling properties it really doesn't fill that well...and really I didn't expect much out of it. They now have the "pro" version of the Z-5 out but I havn't been too inclined to try it. Zaino did finally release an abrasive polish which is what they really lacked from their lineup for the longest time. As already stated in this thread it's called Z-PC and while it does work OK by hand for small areas it's best to use it with an orbital. I've gone through more polishes than I care to remember though and always go back to the Menzerna and Poorboys products because they regularly give the best results. Andy
  21. I use Menzerna and or Poorboys polishes for swirl removal and surface prep and follow with Zaino for protection. Then there's the misc. chemicals and cleaners that I use for the remainder of the detail....too many to list. Andy
  22. OBD I cars require a new chip to be burned... My brother has a Conforti chip for his '95 M3 that he'd probably sell to you. He had to get a new one burned recently when he did more upgrades. Andy
  23. I appreciate it...sorry again about Sunday...had to detail a Bug and then install graphics to make it a Herbie...talk about a long day...Vinal graphis suck to install...not even sure how I got roped into it in the first place. http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/herbie2.jpg http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/herbie9.jpg
  24. Thanks...and Yes I work for NW. Detailing is a nights and weekends deal. Andy
